Here's an odd one. It seems that something on my phone, or perhaps the Stamina mode, is causing X-Reality to become deselected.
It's a low power option in Power Management, but when the battery is charged up, it should surely re-enable it? But mine is remaining off until I go back in and turn it back on.
And in any case, I've only invoked the lower power mode a couple of times because the battery is generally so amazing.
Any ideas what it might be?
Does it only happen after the phone has entered Stamina Mode?

I've got Stamina enabled all the time. However, I don't know when it has been disabled, just that it has been the last few times I've gone in to Settings/Display.
It's still on now, so I'll try and check regularly and see when it goes.
Yh same here, stamina mode switching it off after I turned it back on.

funny, I was gonna make a thread regarding this. it's been turning off randomly, never had the problem previously. always been on stamina mode.

checked mine too and yeap, it's gone again. I give up, didn't exactly notice a huge difference in pictures/videos anyway.
edit: I realized that docking my phone (mimics the effect when charging with a magnetic charger), it turns on X-Reality. when I undock, it automatically gets unticked.
notification LED seems to fail randomly too. man I hope this phone isn't dying.

Bingo! It's when you take it OUT of the dock (or disconnect a magnetic charger) that it deselects X-Reality! Well done for finding that out, as it was really confusing me.
As shown here in a very quick and rough video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uFHb-bZlHK0
PS. It doesn't matter if you use Daydream or not.
my best guess is that the restrict performance option makes it such that it turns it off when unplugged.
like in you said in OP, it'd be nice if it's turned on when juice is at an acceptable level.
Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
I just checked and mine doesn't do that. Xreality stays checked no matter what I do. I tried USB cable, magnetic cable, restarting the phone, etc.
I've got Stamina mode enabled with restrict performance enabled. Probably that, although I'm out and can't test theory right now.
Edit: don't need to. Toggling option turns it off, so that's it. So even if you set 'restrict performance' and manually re-enable X-reality, the mag charger resets it.
Got the same problem guys. Anyway to relay this bug to Sony?
I'm on 314 btw
Sent from my D6503
Same problem on .314. Whenever I check x-reality after a night of charging the phone (although it doesn't go below my low-battery mode limit of 20%) it is always unticked! I don't charge using a magnetic dock because I don't have mine with me at the moment but even on stock USB cable it still does this. I think it may be a bug with the x-reality engine or the battery saver mode that turns it off.
So no solution at all? Do we know if it happens to Z3? So maybe with 4.4.4 will be fixed?
305
It happens on my Z3 too with the extended function turned on. Tried selecting manually, plugged in a usb charger, and plugged it out and when stamina kicked in, got deselected again!
Damn feature!

Solution is:
Settings → Power management → Stamina mode → Extended usage (have to be deselected)

Hi guys,
I was attempting to pay my DTH bill through Paytm on my LG Optimus L9 P765 and the phone got stuck at the credit card info screen. I left it for 2 minutes like that and then pressed the power button for 10 seconds and the phone turned off. Now when I try to turn it on there is no LG logo .. I have tried pressing the buttons for hard reset and turning it on but no luck. The battery was at 95% when the phone was on. The phone doesn't even go into software update mode. I have removed the battery and re-inserted it .. still it doesn't turn on. I was running V10G firmware [rooted] with locked boot-loader. Help me guys..
Btw, the phone is getting hot even when it is switched off. The back panel temp must be around 35-36 degrees.
Does it start when plugged in?
Nope, just gets hot. No sign of turning on.

Well, if it gets hot even if it is switched off, I'll presume there's a hardware problem.
Take out the battery and have a look at it. Do you see any blisters, bubbles, loose foils/membranes or other loose or blown up spots on the battery?
Does the phone smell bad, burned or otherwise chemical?
Edit: You'd better keep the battery away from the phone from now on. Either it's a problem with the battery or there's a bricked component, especially in case it smells bad.
BTW - did you allow to automatically install updates OTA?

I can't see any problem with the battery except a straight line sort of thing running through it vertically towards its left side. The phone doesn't smell of any odour.. the top part of the phone (near the camera) gets hot if i put the battery on and connect it to the charger and then remove the charger after some time. I had done the OTA once.. a 16mb update.. it had got stuck at 13% for which I had to remove the battery and re-insert it. The update finished normally after that..

Well, that's the place my phone got hot whilst processing updates, too. Think it's the processor or sth like that but I was unable to find a photo of the mainboard layout of the L9 unfortunately.
Can you please try to connect it to your PC without battery and see if there's anything happening/appearing in the device manger (in case you use Win)? Perhaps try an "adb devices" just to be sure and in case you installed the LG drivers.
Bye.

Hi all, recently my phone when on charge the screen won't turn off, even when locked it turns itself on?! Any ideas to fix..
If you have activated Developer Options then look in there to see if Stay Awake is ticked, if it is then untick it, if that is ticked then the screen will stay on when charging.

That's not ticked, it seems quite temperamental. Can't work it out!
Hmm, have you tried turning off Daydream in the display settings if you use it? Only other things I can think of are maybe a Xposed module if you use them or a app running in background.

Well if there is no fix, then i'll have to take it back, as it keeps the phone very hot by keeping the screen on and off.

There is a small fix... it is to use a USB cable that has no "data capability".
I've purchased a battery pack which has a short usb cable, which has no data connectivity function (only used for charging) and that will not trigger the monitor on in anyway. For the temporary time being, I have that used to charge every time.

Well, you can either shutdown the watch (if that's an option) or uncheck "display always on" in the settings
Even with uncheck display, it still stays lit while on charger. I hope they add the option to turn it completely off in a future update.
i tried also to turn off when charging, but no luck. it turns on immediately. i tried to put it turned off in cradle ..--> starts.. turned ON and turned off during charging in cradle, same issue. it starts. there is no way to charge it turned off.
There is an option in the developers menu to turn this off and on, on the watch tap on software version 7 times and it will give you Dev settings
Sent from my D6503 using XDA Free mobile app
yes, but when the option is OFF , the screen is not 100% off.
and i also tried to switch the watch OFF during charging and no result
The only way i have managed to turn screen off whilst charging is to go into gear manager and toggle the screen always on option. This needs to be done after it has been put on charge and you will need to do this each time you charge the watch.

obviouslly you cant shut the watch off while charging since putting it in the cradle is the way to turn it on. i charged the watch in the cradle all nite and this morning it only registered 67% battery level. how is that possible? am i doing something wrong?

Slumber is only a partial solution since it doesn't really turn off the screen completely.
Instead it just shows nothing on the screen (but its still on)
Wait? It keeps the screen on during charge? Mine was off while on the cradle, I guess it didn't charge. Which explains why the battery is almost dead.
I've been on battery for 29 hours and have 15% left, not too shabby.
Has anyone found a better solution for this yet? I find this the most frustrating part of this watch.

I agree, this is an option that should be in Android Wear and not depend on other apps.
I use Slumber and I like it very much. At least the screen is muted, although it does still glow while charging.
I'm working on a watchface of my own and I hope to include a feature to put the watch into Theater mode when charging, but at this point I'm not even sure if that is possible programatically.
Just turn on Teather Mode. Perhaps its possible to automate it using tasker?

If its plugged it that is possible if there is a small fluctuation in power.. Connector being a little faulty. Etc.

Not plugged in. Tonight I'm going to turn it off with Rom Toolbox and see if that makes any difference.

Yes. I have B309. Glad to know I'm not alone.
I have been on the lookout ever since I saw this post. There have been others reporting the issue and it is marked as fixed in the next update. We just don't know when the update will come. So, at least you know you aren't crazy.
Have this issue in 309 too. . Turned on and went into Airplane Mode.

It broke my finger print scanner. Did a factory reset still don't work

Did the update last night.. Quick and painless.. So far everything is good.. Did 2 hours of checking and testing last night, 3 hours of torture this morning.... Def snappier and smoother.. Overall i like it and the Battery life for now seems about the same.. I'll give it a few days to see how it settles out... Also, no reset, just did the update and an extra reboot after about ten mins of the initial start up.
Works fine. Definitely more responsive to me. Everything works. Took a little while to figure out where some things moved to but overall, battery seems a little happier, had to turn off a few annoying Oreo notifications but definitely a good upgrade to me.
The only thing I'm not crazy about is how it handles the volume buttons when casting media or playing a video. It doesn't seem to give the option to change the other media (ringtone/notifications/etc) so I had to enable the volume slider in the notification shade to get access to that.
Little touches are nice. Still digging through all of the changes under the hood.
So far, so good, but the Battery Saver Mode is annoying. It can no longer be turned on automatically, and once you turn it on, you have to turn it off manually too even if you're plugged in or fully charged.
Anyone can help? i can't enter os after updating to oreo, it's stack at verizon logo, cant hard factory reset too (press power and volume down). anything so fine before it. so how i can reset my phone in another way?
Everything seems mostly okay here, except for the constant bluetooth crashes. Anybody else seeing that? Also, FWIW, not enjoying the system notifications. Trying to figure out how to turn those off.

I have the same problem, but with a little difference: mine turn on automatically when in 15% but still the notification "tap to activate Battery Saver mode" appears constantly even having it activated. Also it turn off when charged over 15%
