i want to edit SecSetting.apk
i can decompile it and recompiled it signed properly and i pushed SecSettings.apk to system and by setting permissions. all successfully done
problem is there is no settings apk
and when i clicked settings icon in statusbar it hangs and after few seconds it tells unfortunetly systemui had stooped
so i want to edit settings apk please help me in any way

Hi!
I need help to rebuild and sign my modding framework.
The stock framework has size=11M, after decompile, add 200 png files, change stat_sys_battery.xml and stat_sys_battery_charge.xml and rebuild, new apk file only has size=7M, and when i sign new apk file, there is no META-INF, so that my new framework doesnt work, got %battery (smth like 86, 88, 93%) on statusbar but phone reboot after logon.
Any help?

Not sure about your problem but when you decompile apps and then compile they drop in size and u must not be doing it correctly or it should work straight away

Hi guys, I'm new to this forum and if its possible I'm gonna ask for help here.
I'm losing hope with this, I followed all the guides regarding in modifying touchwiz however whenever I edit an xml file even just a letter and recompile it again, it won't work. I set the permissions to rwx-rxx-rxx in the /system/app but still its not listed as an installed application in all application lists. TB shows it as an uninstalled app/orphan. I already managed to deodexed my touchwiz so I don't know the problem anymore. What I'm trying mod with my touchwiz is as follows:
*5 icons dock (original icons) /no dock background or some line above dock just like original
*5 rows homescreen
*application_name=Samsung home to Home
*transparent menu_background
*fly in effect
*launcher:defaultScreenCount = 1
*automatically sorting apps to alphabetical
*disable homescreen app labels
I downloaded an already modded touchwiz3 to set as my model for editing, its perfect however what I don't like in it is the line above the dockbar and whenever I set the homescreen number to only 1, the homescreen icons/widgets are scrolling. I uploaded the 3 files (original/downloaded/my modded), could someone check what I'm missing in my work? BTW, I'm on a stock S5300DXLF2.

Yes, I set the permissions to rw-r--r-- but still its not showing up as an installed application. I deodexed the original touchwiz using this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1600805 but still it won't let me edit a single line in an xml file. What could be the problem?
Regarding your question about how did I named the apk, are you talking about the filename.apk (TouchWiz30Launcher.apk)? I didn't change that in the /system/app directory.
try to sign the apk
I finally managed to make it work, I copied all the files I edited from the new compiled apk to the original apk and I pushed back the original apk. However the application name and the menu background transparency didn't change at all. Since I don't know where the values folder goes after recompiling an apk, I don't know where to copy it from the new apk to paste to the original apk.

This is the problem of signing the app... use vts to compile, decompile and signing... I guess it will work...

I tried using VTS, but that didn't help either changing the application name. I'm having another problem adding rows to homescreen, I changed the longaxiscells to 5 but I'm getting FC.
how is it .. is it good ?
Any of this is like the one in JellyBlastV3 rom??? With the transperant dock and stuff??? And I just push it using root explorer??? And set permissions??

Hi, I'm currently working on a custom rom. I have modded build.prop and now I would like to change the default settings for the rom. For example I would like allow install from Unknown Sources to be checked at first boot and some other stuff. My question is where in the system are these settings stored? I need to find the files so I can edit them. Please help
You could try decompiling the settings.apk abd search in the apk for default settings, don't know

Will try this when I get home.
I decompiled the settings.apk of stock rom to mod it using this guid but before moding xml & other things i just decompiled & recompiled settings.apk using apk-multitool to see it its working.
after recompiling with no modification when i pushed it into the phone it didn't install at all
what am i doing wrong?
when apk-multitool asked "Aside from signature.....# errors" i said "n" because i made no modification & also i used option to recompile system apk (no signing)

Hi everyone i need your help in special for a people who knows for edit apk for lollipop the problem is this i like to add a white circle to my toogles i decompress with winrar and extract the res and eddit my toogles but when i compress and remplace the systemUI on my cell phone and give permissions and restar my phone a message its appear "systemUI is stoped" and broke my rom.
I tried with apktool and it doesn´t work. The original image and the modified image is the same look the screenshot.
