[Q] SDcard problem with stock rom - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello
I bought am original sdcard 32gbs kingstone mark.
So while using it with stock rom it started to lag until It ended to RAW format ! So now I can only format it
Now I have many pix and records I do need from the sdcard ! How can I manage this !
Note #1 : I tried testdisk to reformat it without deleting the content as I do with my flash-memory but pc didnt event read it On the app it only read it as unknown device needed a format
Note #2 : I had experience for 2 or 3 months using CM11 and cm10 with this sdcard and voala it never bugged nor lagged !

Search for a data recovery app on your pc.
Afterward format the sd card with the SD formatting tool, if still a problem then throw it away.

[Q] pictures deleted after flashing hydrogen

i flashed the great rom hydrogen (android 4.04) before i was rooted and stock firmware from samsung.
now everything works fine, but MY PICTURES WERE DELETED ?!?!?!?!
pls help mee
Delete means gone deleted .
Try RECUVA that may find your deleted pictures .
But it will be far easier to restore your backup .
jje
See if you have them in your SD card
If its their in SD card then try wiping media cache in apps or stopping and restarting media process
Also wipe cache of gallery if you have those images in SD card

If your pictures are not even shown in file explorer, better mount your SD card as USB mass storage in your PC and use softwares like recuva to recover your deleted files

Mounts and storage formatting

Hi there....I've had my S2 for just over a month, in that time, I've done more ROM flashing, kernel flashing and tweaking than I did to my old phone over the year + that I owned it......
I've read that wiping data, cache and dalvic *can* leave bytes of old ROM etc undeleted.......
I'm beginning to experience some lag during normal daily use, so it's my intention to *completely* format EVERYTHING I can and start fresh (to see if it helps.....can't hurt right?).
So, I boot into recovery, go to mounts and storage and I see options to format.....
1) cache
2) system
3) data
4) preload
5) emmc
6) sdcard
So, I'm familiar with the first three options, but then I see....
Preload
No idea what this is, or even if it's safe to format (a Google search is no help either)
Emmc......whenever I see that, I think BRICKBUG......
Is it safe to format this using CM10.1s CWM.....even though the phone came out of the box running 4.0.4?
Sdcard.......is this internal storage, or is this the removable micro SD card that currently holds all my pictures, music and videos (also this card will be where I download the fresh copies of the rom/gapps to, and where I'll be installing them from).
One final (probably noobish) question. Is there a danger that I might unintentionally erase CWM as a result of formatting these partitions (specifically emmc).........
Thanks in advance.......

Preload is used for system apps in stock jb and for dualboot.
Emmc is your internal sd card
sd card is external sd card

Thank you DubAholic.....
So none of the above are the removable (in my case 32gb) micro SD card, and all are safe to format? No concerns with emmc and brick bug?.....
No likelihood of erasing the CWM?...

Sd card is the removable sd card
And normally it should be ok to format, but be sure to backup internal & external sd to pc
Always happy to help

OK....completed the full wipe and re installed cm10.1 and gapps followed by my apps.......
Made no appreciable difference. Can anybody recommend an app that monitors which apps are the resource hoggers?......

[Q] No ROM on my P760 / formated internal sd

Hi everyone!
I had lot of custom ROMs on my LG P760 (CM, Avatar, JellyBam, Pac-Man...) but after lot of flashing my phone started turning off (i always wiped all data before flash sth new) . So I though my problem must be in CWM - so i flashed older version of CWM and tried to wipe all data. But it didn´t work. I formated internal sd card and after recovery rebooting there was still zip of ROM i wanted to flash and all files were now in folder named "0"in internal sd. Turning off of phone stopped and i flashed newest CWM 6.0.3.1.
AND HERE´S MY PROBLEM: I decided to try out Jelly Cream so i took zip to internal sd. But after these problems i had with wiping data i formated internal sd again (but with CM 6.0.3.1) and there suddenly wasn´t anything  and when i want to use something from external sd, it writes - " external sd can´t mount". I also wanted to copy zip with "mounts and storage"-- "mount USB storage" but there wasn´t any selection "mount USB storage" with USB connected on phone. And i tried also flashing official firmware from this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2085344 - step by step but it stucked on 4% of flashing . So now I have perfectly clean phone - only with CWM.
So, if u have any ideas how to solve this, please help !
Go to the LG Mobile Support Tool, and click Customer Support -> Recovery. Then input your IMEI located behind your battery and update.

Sd card problem

Hello everyone
Today i (re-) installed pacman rom and everything works but i suddently recived a notification with
"Sd card unexpected removed"
I thinked thats an error and formated sdcard with recovery
After 1 hour same error and i thinked thats a problem with rom so i installed stock sammy rom
Everything works good , sdcard was formated with cwm again but after 1 hour i looked with root explorer on exsdcard partition and it was empty and unformatted
Again i formated it with recovery and again it unmounts itself and delete all of its content
I tried with some pc programs but same result
Any advices?

I'm really just guessing here but have you tried taking your sdcard out and cleaning it? Is the card fitting correctly? Maybe your card is corrupted (this happened to me once and kept draining my battery to nought in a matter of an hour), it may be worth trying or buying a new sdcard.
Just a thought, I hope this helps.
Found the problem
It was the screw near the sd card slot
Maybe a shock was a problem but im using silicium case(shock proof)
Anyway i still have a warranty for card (3years left out of 4 )
It wasnt cheap. it is class 10

[HELP] SD Card became Read Only !!!

My 64GB SanDisk Ultra Class 10 card was running fine untill recently i flashed Omni ROM !! Then i was not feeling good with onmi and i returned back to Stock Rom..then the problems started to occur.I didn't notice at 1st.after when i connected to my pc to insert some files the files does not WRITE !! it shows that the files are being copied but when i refresh it stays the same old files which was previously there before....
What to DO ????
Can any one Help !!!
Use sd formatting tool on your pc, if still the same then buy a new card.
I have the same SD card, and sometimes when I flash a new rom I have to format because my phone is unable to read it. I always reformat it with SDFormatter V4.0, you can try it.
Do a "FULL (OverWrite)" format to be sure.

My S3 has killed at least 3sd cards of mine. Phone would start dismounting and remounting the SD card by itself, eventually the card would stop working. I've given up using a SD card in my phone
Mine has the same 32gb card I put in the day I got the phone, 2 years ago. Not had any problems at all, I avoid using the internal storage to reduce wear on the emmc chip.

I tried formatting it with windows but no Luck !! In windows it shows it formatted but when I insert it back into phone it stays the same .It returns back to its previous state... The thing is that my card shows that it is copying or deleting files but after a while everything just goes back to where it was ..I still have my old files unable to do any thing...so only Read Only ... :'(
Thats it I am never flashing a non stock based ROM ever !!
