[How to install GearFit Retail Mode]
1. Change to Download mode on your GearFit device (See [Gear Fit] How to enter Download mode.pptx)
2. Refresh the GearFit Reatilmode binary on your GearFit by Odin3.0.95 (See [GearFit] Odin3 Guide_ENG.pptx)
3. Connect with GearFit and Galaxy S5 using GearFit Manger (See Galaxy S5&Gear Fit Retailmode Connection Guide_v03_1.pptx)
4. Activate GearFit Retailmode (See Galaxy S5&Gear Fit Retailmode Connection Guide_v03_1.pptx)

from those powerpoint presentations i conclude that retail mode is for retailers that put the devices for display. its nothing more than configuring the gear fit to never turn off the screen.
Do you know if in this mode, the gear fit works exactly as in normal mode (with the only difference the screen always on) ??
I'll really like the possibility to keep the screen always on, but everything else the same...
I didn't test this Retailmode, but I suppose Gear Fit will work normally.
Not sure about the Gear Fit, but for Samsung phones retail mode resets the device every 30 mins (deletes everything/factory reset), for people won´t install any bloatware on it when used in stores. So watch out when trying it ...
I have problem, I connected Fit with S5, then I've tried to acctivate Retail Mode and when I enter this code *#11111# nothing happens, also last # does not appear.

Hello all,
I have googled, and searched forums high and low to no result so I thought i'd ask.
I recently purchased "KVD APOLLO ONE K6589 Quad-Core Android 4.2.1 WCDMA Smartphone w/ 5.5"
Im new so I can't post external links, however if you go to google or deal extreme and search, you'll find it easy enough.
The phone itself was next to nothing ($180) so even if its Unrootable, I'm not too fussy.
I would however prefer it rooted, I have read that you can basically use the MTK6577 rooting tool on the device?
Would this risk bricking the device.
I'v attempted to contact the manufacturer however to no avail! This is a rather new model so I know im being a tad impatient but if anyone can help then please do
Thanks guys

Anyhow until then, failing any answers from here, another chinese forum a spanish one and Yahoo answers I am going to go with the following method, If it dies, It dies this was my own fault for not doing enough research and at least it lets others know. I would send it back to DX But cba with postage fees and the hassle;

Revision 1 - People to be added to credits for leehed source, currently untested, concept only
Before anything try and boot into any form of recovery mode and backup if possible!
DISABLE UAC in WINDOWS 7
RIGHT CLICK RUN AS ADMIN ON ALL FILES
ALLOW NON TRUSTED DRIVER INSTALLATION (Google this if unsure)
On the phone install anububu on pc phone. - See what model it detects as and note it down.
Run MTK DROID TOOLS and connect phone see if drivers After a few seconds, the box should turn blue, and it should say "Apollo ONE or Other Name " besides it. The drivers are working.
If not try the other drivers in the drivers folder using device manager, there are many tutorials for this I cba typing one im so tired! and make sure you have the only trusted drivers thing turned off, if you constantly get unknown driver then your out of look and wil have to try and source some yourself.
Win7 (This method has not been tested by myself. Confirmation required.)
HOW TO MANUALLY INSTALL ANY DRIVERS IF NEEDED
a - Downloading This tool Called EASYBCD
b - Use it to restart your computer in advanced boot mode. (PRESSING F8 WHILST BOOTING UNTIL YOU GET THE OPTION FOR Disable signed driver enforcement)-Must be done everytime you wanna root a phone with this method.
c - Follow instructions and disable SDE.
d Manually install drivers, if above did not work (Yellow sign issue)
e Navigate to control panel - > Hardware and Sound - > Device Manager
f You should see a driver notice with a yellow warning sign next to it.
g Right click on it and choose "Update driver..".
h- Manually assign drivers, usually the choice furthest down.
i- In the window which should have appeared, navigate to the preload/Mt6590 folder and press OK.
j- If SDE is turned off, you should see a red warning window. This is normal, just accept the message prompted.
k- The drivers should now be successfully installed.
l - Once this is done open C:\Users\Hate\Desktop\Chinese Droid Rooting\MTKROOT TOOLS\Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v28\runme.bat Hope it ****ing works if so your rooted, If not try this next few steps, AGAIN at your own risk, no need to format just continue from here.

0 - Use PC to copy UPDATE-SuperSU-v.1.25.zip to the root of SD CARD, do not unpack just leave whole zip there.
1 - Turn off your phone, remove your battery. (Do not connect your phone to the computer yet!)
2 - Navigate to the "SP Flash Tool" folder, and run the tool.
3 - On the right side of the tool, there should be a button, iconed with a folder, named "Scatter-Loading". Click this.
4 - Navigate to the "Yulypis Recovery" folder, and double-click on the "Mt6589_Android_scatter-emmc.txt".
5 - You should be back at the SP Flash Tool start-screen, and there should have appeared a list of text and hex-codes.
6 - The "Recovery" line, should be ticked off, and preloader should be red.
7 - Now, click on the button named "Download", with a blue arrow on it. Press "YES" on the NOT ALL images has been correctly loaded warning.
8 - Connect your phone to a USB 2.0, with removed battery. The program should now work, and if drivers is set up correctly, the 0% will turn 100% and a green circle will appear in the middle of the screen. If your phone disconnects before the flashing tool is able to recognize your device, try putting the battery back into the phone before running SP Flash tool. Additionally, if this doesn't work, try using different drivers in the drivers folder
9 - Disconnect your K6589 from the computer when you see the green circle, insert the battery and boot the phone. Wait for it to get to the start screen.
11 - Installing SuperSU through Yulypis recovery
12 - Run "MtkDroidTools.exe" from the folder.
13 - Connect your device, and after a few seconds, information about your device should appear.
14 - Click on reboot, on the mtkDroidTools start-screen, and choose "..recovery".
15 - If recovery has been properly flashed, your device will now enter Yulypis recovery. Blue, with english text.
16 - Controllers: "Power = Enter, Initialize", "Volume down = Scrolling down". (Don't remember if volume up was bugged or not)
17 - Enter "Install zip from SDcard" - > Navigate to the earlier copied "UPDATE-SuperSU-v.1.25.zip and initialize it by pressing the power button.
18 - Follow the on-screen instructions, and it should be prompted to install after 1-2 more screens.
19 - Reboot the device by clicking on "+++++back+++++" and "Reboot now / Reboot Device".
Either way I am going to smash this in a week or so when the phone arrives from DX and will keep people update.
Peace
Please I want to buy this phone. Can you answer me a few doubts I have?

I'm still awaiting the phone, hence why that guide is at your own risk.
However from what I have been told and gather that should root the phone no problems.
As for custom roms, I wouldn't even bother trying!
Once the phone gets here I will test my tutorial and re-write it into a more easy on the eyes fashion.
Thanks

They sell the phone, for an extra $3 they root before sending.
It cant be that hard, I'd love to know someone in that factory!
I'm looking for a link to download the full stock firmware for this device.
Anyone, please?
...or at least a firmware dump from a non-modified working phone.
One could use MTK Droid Tools and SPFlash to perform this task easily.
PM me for assistance if you need it.
Thank you.
I have a nokia lumia 920 in black. it is a UK model ( I think originally on EE, but is unlocked. It has no branding on it). I decided to reset my phone to clear off a load of the apps and music that I don't want, but I got stuck at the screen with the 2 gears/cogs turning, and couldn't get any further (it was on this screen for about 6 hours, then the battey died). I have been trying to restore my phone so it works, but so far I haven't had any luck! I seem to come across the same problems:
1. NaviFirm+ 1.7 doesn't connect. I have download some cache files from April, but I don't really know which ROM I should be choosing, and I don't have access to all versions.
2. Nokia care suite says it is online but I cant search or download anything. Running version 2012.51.4.4
3. Nokia package manager doesn't download anything (enter RM-821 in product type. keep getting 'error while retrieving a list of variants')
4. I have tried several key combinations to try to get it to reset, but I either get to a screen with a lightning bolt and a gear, or the 2 gears turning
5. Nokia care suite doesn't seem to detect my phone connection. nothing is listed in the fuse software, but I can see winUSB device I the device manager.
6. My battery is now dead, and when I connect, I see the battery symbol, with a flashing power cord, so I cant do anything more!
Currently I am trying to download an old version of a ROM, and hoping my battery will charge up enough for me to do something with it.
my questions are:
1. what ROM should I be putting on my device for a generic, unlocked, black, UK lumia 920, and where can I get this from. I need to be able to use the 3G and 4G here in the UK
2. How can I get nokia care suite or nokia package manager to connect to the internet to download roms
3. how do I get nokia caresuite to see my phone is connected
4. how can I then flash the rom onto the phone
every post I have looked at makes reference to downloading the roms via navifirm or care suite, but neither of these seem to work now. all I can get is an old rom (which I guess can update OTA) and even if I could get a rom, it seems like care suite detects the connected phone, which mine doesn't! HELP!
Did you see this posting, maybe give you ideas.

Hi, Not sure if anyone can provide some help to this 'noob'.
I broke my galaxy s4 screen and the phone is still working as I hear it getting messages etc. The phone is also locked and I cant obviously use the pattern to unlock it. I just want to get a couple files off of it. I have never rooted this phone or hacked it.
When I attach to the PC I cant see the files because the phone is locked (duh on me)
I tried to load the phone in bootloader mode by holding power button and Down volume....
Also tried the ADB tools but I can never get the phone with the android to appear in the device manager. I also tried adb driver tool from another website but it will not find my device.
Any other ideas?

Also Adroid wear also see the Gear S and ask me the Pin (which show on Gear S) to pair but Gear S's Screen is black so i don't see anything.

Anyone know if it's the same order to flash Tizen back through Heimdall?
The definite guide to rooting Samsung Galaxy J3(2016) SM-J320FN & FRP Locked Bootloop
As first I have to say, I had to create a thread in Q&A because of the low rank, but I am sure this can be moved to the J3 section as there are many questions on how to gain root access to this device. This guide can work on the SM-J320F model as well, but it hasn't been tested on other models, so don't try it !
Lets start :
Dont forget to Backup all your data before the process !!!
1. Tick USB Debugging and OEM Unlock in Developer Mode (OEM has to be ticked to unlock the bootloader)
2. Connect to PC with USB Cable and open Odin
3. Power off and reboot into Download Mode (VOL.DOWN+HOME+POWER)
4. Add twrp.zip to AP tab
5. Untick Auto-Reboot and Start
6. Wait to finish
7. When it's finished hold (VOL.DOWN+VOL.UP+HOME+POWER) to Power Off
8. Load into TWRP Mode (VOL.UP+HOME+POWER)
9. In TWRP first go to the Wipe Tab, check Cache and Data and click Wipe
10. Copy SuperSU into internal memory from your PC
11. Go back to TWRP and select Install, select the SuperSU from the internal memory and click install without ticking anything, then reboot
12. Wait for the phone to reboot, it may boot-loop a few times, and it boots slowly but dont interrupt the process !
13. From there on, check the root status by downloading Root Checker from PlayStore
KEEP OEM-UNLOCK ON ALL THE TIME, IF YOU DONT WANNA END UP WITH A BRICKED DEVICE(CUSTOM BINARY WAS BLOCKED BY FRP LOCK)!!!
If that happens, here is an official guide from the Samsung Kies Support Page :
IMPORTANT: You may need your device model name, S/N number, or IMEI number in order to proceed. This information can be found on the label underneath your device battery.

1. Open Kies 3 and click Tools > Firmware Upgrade and Initialization.
2. Enter your device Model name and click OK.

4. Kies 3 will verify that the feature is available for your device. If the feature is available, click OK to continue.
5. The firmware version is displayed along with a note that the information on your device will be permanently deleted during this process. Click OK to continue.
6. Follow the steps to prepare your device for emergency recovery. Mark the checkbox next to I have read all of the above information. Select whether you agree to share this update with Samsung. Click Start upgrade to reinstall the firmware.
7. Touch Create backup to create a copy of selected items before proceeding. Touch Skip backup to proceed without backing up any items.
8. Kies 3 will download and prepare your system to update the firmware. This process can take some time. The time will vary based on your network and computer capabilities.
9. Respond to any security warnings about installing software.
10. The progress screen is shown during the upgrade process. The process will take several minutes to complete. Do not disconnect your device, turn the device off, or turn off your computer during this process.
11. Click OK when the upgrade is finished.

How to root SM-J320FN.rar
Works like a charm on J320FN.
I signed up just to say, after hours of trying different guides, accidentally factory resetting once or twice, and getting my phone stuck in a boot loop, this method worked. BUT it did factory reset my phone, but that's fine I've everything backed up and it wont take long to get it back. Maybe I pressed something I shouldn't have.
Some info on my phone in case it helps anyone in a similar position to how I was:
At one point I installed stock firmware from to get my phone out of the boot loop, I can't link it but if you google "J320FNXXU0APB4_J320FNO2C0APC1_O2C" (WITH quotes) you should find the page.
After doing that:
Android version: 5.1.1
Model number: SM-J320FN
Kernel version: 3.10.65-7225942 (Sun Feb 14 2016)
Build no: LMY47V.J320FNXXU0APB4
Baseband version: J320FNXXU0APB5
I hope I typed all that right. Thank you so much!!

Problems in Root J320AZ
My name is Dario Lobos. I am working as a gardener and I am making a little application in my phone. I don't have computer so I did it in Java n-ide. I started with a Samsung core prime but the screen was broken and I did change it and the technicians broke it and gave me an Samsung s320. Android 6 (api23) and after that the java n-ide don't compiles the permits that I am requesting in the manifest so I can't grant permissions to my apk. Parallel of it the phone always show a notice unauthorized actions have been made please restart the phone to undo the unauthorized actions. And the lookout said message root access detected. I wrote Samsung without any positive answer. No technical assistance at all. But the roots checkers says that I have no root in my phone. Now I am trying to do a root. But I don't know if someone have a hidden root access in my phone. A page suggest Framaroot and you suggest kingroot. I don't want to store all my phone in their server to root it. Does any program that don't access to all the data to root the phone?. I am writing you since you have more experience to request you if it is in your possibilities. Also to ask you about prompt root commands. Where I can find info about that. A suggestion to solve my problem. My simple all is here

The system don't let me put url since I am new add please http...
Well thank you in advance and any help is wellcome
Regards,
Dario Lobos
Adding more information to what I did to try to find a an answer. I tried to root with Frama root 1.9.3 and the installation only request me access to the camera and after installed the programs showed a banner that said can't root your device.
Today I downloaded from firmware.mobi some zip and img files but I already I couldn't learn how to use them properly.
I am trying to avoid the exploids system because maybe is a hacker in the middle. Always I am trying to root w/o SIM card and with Wi-Fi off. So I think that kingroot and kingoroot are not useful for my.
I am trying to buy an old desktop computer as an alternative.
Well any suggestion is usefull and wellcome.
Before of all of that I did two factory reset in recovery mode.
Then I installed an apk Dev Tools (trinea) and one menu request me developer permit in accesibility setting. The phone started to change the color of the screen and the outside padding start to flashing red. Then was open a setting menu and the language was changed suddenly to Japanese or Korean while the screen was lighting like receiving knoks. I turned of the phone and restarted and hopefully I remembered the position in settings to change the language.
After that I had to use an apk repair system and fix Android and the screen get better but the padding outside still flashing in red ones in a while.
Also where added plenty sha certificates (settings user certificates) like system certificates
Go daddy
VeriSign
Some governments (Turkish, Spain, Japan, Germany, Holland, and more)
The Catholic religion with 6 certificates called
Quo Basis
And much more.
So I did another factory reset recovery mode. And the screen problem disappeared and the certificates that I turned off manually firt too (All) but the root alert in the look out and the security notice didn't disappeared.
Today I wanted to print your forum page and the phone put error. Only put error in your forum page.
Other thing that I had to to just after the unpackage the restored Android is disable the setup and transfer. Because I think that is this apk that were using to access and modify my files and grants permissions.
I installed the TWRP application but said the phone have no root.
Today I opened the developer option in settings and turned to on the OEM option to unlock the boot loader but instead of put a banner saying that all data will be erased put a banner saying that the device protection will be not work and didn't do the reboot or nothing more that put this dialog.
Dario Lobos
great, unlocken/rooten worked here. But after that, the mobile became unusable. All google apps complain no connection is available. I cannot update google play store, cannot update other google apps like youtube, or install any app now.
And perhaps it does not have anything to do with the mentioned process, but before I started the process, I made sure all nessacary file were on the sd card. But now I have finished wiping the data / cache from the recovery and all files on the sd card are gone.
I cannot login to google photos to see if the apps are backupped because every google app complains no internet connection is available.
So yes, rooting/unlocking worked, but that's the only thing that worked here. I now got a useless Samsung J3 2016...
I need assistant trying to root my J320FN, which I mistakenly wipe some backed up recovery file now, I can not get through with the rooting and I can get back to forma phone setting am locked up , samsung phone not coming up again please what can I do ?
