My New Omate looks lovely but the language displayed is Chinese, I am unable to figure out how to set this to English can someone help.
If you can get to the status bar, drag it down and press the icon top right. Then you can click the settings icon next to it. Then the third choice down has the outline of a person on it. Click it. Then languages and input is the third choice again, and language the first choice in the next menu. Scroll and find your language of choice!

Every time i write an sms (handcent sms) the annoying language chooser pops up. Does anyone know how to remove it safely?
If you mean the blue language bar, the only way I have found is to install another system keyboard such as SlideIt

Sort of a suggestion
I can't help you directly with Arabic or Farsi but i have enabled mine to handle Japanese, so it is possible to use other languages than Latin based alphabets.
My suggestion is that you go to Market and look for Arabic & Farsi soft keyboards. They will usually also come with support for the most popular Arabic/Farsi IME.
The other thing I suppose is that you want support for Right to Left text display? I am not sure if an Arabic IME will come with that support. For example, Japanese can also be written vertically with the columns going from right to left. I haven't found support for that in any of the IMEs. So it will be trial & error.
PS. IME = Input Managing Editor

when i install the keyboards the words on messaging or the web browser in Persian language are shown with space between hem

Have you checked in settings? It might have a setting for automatically using space to save time, especially if you mix it up with words in an alphabetic based language.

Hi all. Wel, as the headline says, is it possible? I would really like to use the standard widget, but the locations I wanna use, is not supported in the widget, but are on accuweather.
I had such problem and found some little weird solution.
It only works if your system language differs from English.
1. Set your system language to English
2. Try to find your location in English in widget settings.
3. If this helps place the widget and revert system language back.
Haha wtf, it actually worked! Weird..
Thank you!

Ηello everyone, I hope this is the right section to post my question.
I have a Samsung GT-i5500 and have a strange problem. When writing sms, I cant change the text language. If I have selected english from the menu, I can't change to greek until I go to the settings again and change it to greek.
Is there a solution to change the language from the message application and not the settings panel?
Thank you very much.

Well, in this case I cannot be sure 'cause I used the stock rom only few days, but I take a look at the GT-I5500 user manual and it seems there's nothing you can do for this little but annoying problem, nor for Samsung keyboard nor for Swype, sorry..
Maybe you could look the Market for a keyboard app with such a feature, I think you could find it..
Or you could try Cyanogen..
