hi! is there any way to unlock my bootloader even if the rooting status bootloader unlock allowed says no...? thanks in advance...
Simple answer: no. If it's a must-have, go return it and buy one off-contract.
It is possible that in the future, someone will find an exploit to unlock the bootloader, or at the very least, do something similar to Loki on the Galaxy S4 (get custom ROMs/etc without an unlocked bootloader).
Sure sucks.

I bought one Factory Unlocked without ever being on a contract and it also tells me no, so it looks like it's not possible to unlock the boot loader on any American model.

Hi, I saw the news (on july) that the bootloader was cracked but then the posts about it's a lie and then the custom kernels appear and I don't know if the bootloader is unlocked or not.
My question is if there will be a way to free unlock the phone (sim unlock) shortly or better go paying an unlock code.
Thank you.
The custom kernels are here because some clever devs figured out how to bypass the bootloader to load unsigned kernels.
Apparently, Zdzihu is working with a mystery dev about unlocking the bootloader, and apparently, they have done it. Nothing has been released to us about it yet however.
Regarding your question, until the bootloader is unlocked, you will need to pay an unlocking service to sim unlock your phone. If the bootloader is unlocked, you might still need to pay an unlocking service.

Yum, no matter the bootloader is unlocked, the SIM unclocking is different and not relate to bootloader.

Actually, If you remember back to the flame war between Max and the_laser, much of the hype was about SIM unlock, as unlocking the bootloader would give us direct access to where SIM lock information is stored. I believe this is one of the reasons that SE will not unlock the bootloader, as they are in agreement with various carriers to keep it locked. The carriers obviously don't want people ditching them whenever they feel like it.
Edit:
I might have misunderstood your post. Sorry about that. But the bootloader is directly related to the SIM lock, on this phone at least, hence why I stated "If the bootloader is unlocked, you might still need to pay an unlocking service."
Hy!
I have an easy question. Some people have Branded SK17i, which says: Bootloader Unlock allowed: NO...
So, any chance to flash this without unlock Bootloader? I thinking in a method like Motorola phones (Defy, etc).
Any chance to work this?
Thanks a lot!
I think i fell upon someone who had the same issue. I think you have to debrand it first, then you will be able to unlock the bootloader using the Test Point method. Not entirely sure though.
What you can do is go through this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1285285
I am quite certain that there was a solution in that thread somewhere.
No way. In service menu i got: "Bootloader unlock allowed: No". I debranded it with Wotan (2.3.4 UK ROM), but i can't unlock bootloader.
I think it's not a problem, because a lot of Motorola has locked bootloader, and they have CFW.
We can root it, with zergRush, we only need a xRecovery or CWM Recovery port, and we got Highway to Hell
Interest thing: after S1tool Method in the i saw "r9xxx", not "R9xxx". In X10 Mini/Mini Pro it means the unlocked bootloader. So what?
If you checked the thread thoroughly you would have got your answer.

Hope this clears the waters for you
Yep, I know this way, but I want to make an method, which don't need unlocked bootloader, like Motorola Phones.
Umm.... What? Motorola phones are hated because of their locked bootloader, resorting to a software solution to bypass the bootloader lock in order to get it to "fastboot" can only resort to problems.
Plus, ROMs in Motorola phones work way differently, you have to restore a cwm backup and then install the rom blah blah blah.
So its not easier in any way.
guys, here is the solution to unlock bootloader via testpoint method.
clear and easy to follow.

this will help a lot of people if you succeed...
i do not understand why only some phones of the same model have bootloader unlock allowed:no
good luck
Nice bump, dude.

eh ****..
how did i get here?
Couple of things you might need to know
I've searched EVERYWHERE and not found an answer
Phone IS ROOTED
Phone is: Xperia RAY
its GSM Locked
Bootloader Unlock Allowed: NO
Now thats cleared my problem
I've searched loads of places (including here) to find a way to unlock my bootloader, the official method does not work (the one through Sony's website) as my phones bootloader is not allowed to be unlocked
So the obvious question is, how do i unlock the bootloader?
There are many threads about that. You can try the paid method via "wotan server", but nobody can promise it will work
Try Setool. I haven't used it but some people say it can unlock bootloaders. http://files.setool.net/support/SETool2/

you can try testpoint method
you can unlock via setool, testpoint method, but if your phone says: Bootloader Unlock Allowed: NO then the fastboot mode is disabled, so you can not flash custom kernels even you unlocked it
the only way is a paid method like wotanserver, which i used a year ago and i recommend it
Is this working to unlock the Vzw S4? How are we unlocking the bootloader currently?
There currently isn't a bootloader unlock for the S4.
I didn't think there was but there is a boot animation change/rotator tutorial in the themes and apps section but it states that the phone must be unlocked......I didn't think we had an unlocked bootloader yet! Just making sure I didn't miss anything.
there is a bootloader "bypass" but not a full unlock
Hi Masters!
I want to use systemless root on my Z2 but my bootloader status says 'no'. Is there a way we can turn 'no' into 'yes' like force it? Or is it possible to use systemless root even if my bootloader is locked with a stock kernel??
Thank you for your answers!
Is your phone carrier-branded?
Yes my phone is locked to a carrier? I called them to request an unlock but they refer me to a local technician to unlock. But I don't want to spend just to get it carrier-unlocked. Hopefully there is a way for me to do it on my own.
Sorrily, as of now, there is none... Spending for an unlock code would only get you carrier-unlocked...
