OK so I've had this LG L70 for a month now still no root. But that's not what I'm here to talk about. I'm here to ask for help or info with my problem. So the stock launcher is OK but no wear near better them sum or these aftermarket launchers... Next launcher in general. Well after downloading next Launcher I tried to set up my home screens with the same widgets I had on the stock launcher with no luck. It tells me there is a problem with the widgets tap to reload. When I tap they disappear. Anybody know how to fix this problem? Maybe some kinda work around. Thanks for any info.

This is what happens with most widgets.

OK so all my system widgets that came with the phone don't work. All that came with apps I've downloaded work. Any ideas?

Probably because many of the stock widgets are tied to the LG framework and need the stock launcher to run correctly.

That sounds about right. I would uninstall all that crap and get all aftermarket but I can't root yet. Phones to new can't get it into recovery mode.

Just disable the stuff you aren't using via the built-in Application Manager in Settings. Just because the widgets are there doesn't mean they are harming anything or that you have to use them. You aren't going to get any usable space back from uninstalling them anyway as those are installed in /system/app and stuff you add gets put in /data/app.
What I was trying to say was I can't download aftermarket stuff for the launcher because my memory is slap full.

I don't use any of the Google Apps other then maps and play store. Don't get me wrong the phones pretty fast! Is just got no memory. Way to much system junk apps and no way to root so I can't really uninstall system apps or move to sd card.

There is a probable root method for it... Towel root I suppose!! Just search it then uh may move the apps

Hey guys, the thread title should be self explanatory enough but let me provide some more details.
I have the L9 P765(India), I recently updated it to V10G via OTA and then I lost the Social+ widget, its not in my homescreen, not in my installed apps, not even my widgets menu, nowhere, it just disappeared, poof
Now I love this widget and I need your help, do you have it on your L9 after V10G update?
If not is there any place I can find it on XDA?
And are there any similar app available on play store?
PS: My phone had not been modified in anyway, never rooted, never flashed, nothing.

i just bought my p769 a few weeks ago. V10G out of the box. i'm rooted, and was uninstalling bloatware earlier, and i believe i saw that app and removed it.
what i might be able to do is, factory reset my phone. then i'll have it back on. then, since i have root, i'll try to copy the apk and see if you can sideload it.

I just installed CWM for this phone and the bootloader is still locked. But does this mean i could install custom firmware? or do i just now have a way to back up my phone and recover?
Locked boot loader means that you cannot install custom roms on the phone. There are certain tweaks that can be installed through CWM, there are also a few modified (themed and tweaked) stock roms floating around in the general section of this forum.
I can honestly say that once you delete most of the bloat, apply a few tweaks...our phone runs just fine on stock-ish firmware.

Just stay on modded stock. ( check kuma82's ROM in dev section ) If you want to install custom roms then you HAVE to unlock your bootloader.

Thank you guys for the information. I am going to check out that rom it sounds pretty good and i honestly dont really need anything super fancy i just want to be able to take advantage of this sd card.
Really annoying that it wasn't implimented on the original firmware to be able to move apps to the sd card. It seems like a very long running theme with android that there are all sorts of issues moving apps to the sd card. Best way i was able to take advantage of my sd card was with my old lg p509 using the ungazed script.
Good luck.

So im sure there are probably a million posts pertaining to this issue, but I cant for the life of me seem to find them. So,i decided to sign up to this website to ask for help. I have an lg optimus l9 (p769) and when i got the phone i rooted it of course. Im still running ics by the way. The first thing I did when I rooted was delete all of the bloatware. Then I started getting the ota update for jellybean. So, i impulsively unrooted my phone so i could get the update. Problem is, because i deleted the bloatware, i cant get the update. I tried a factory reset but to no avail. So now I have an unrooted l9 running the primitive ics that will not install jellybean because i deleted the bloatware. How do i fix this???? Im just tired of being harangued by the ota updates and not being able to install them. Please help!!!

Download and install the 'L9RecoveryInstaller.apk'. This will install a bootstrapped version of CMW to your device. Bear in mind that this recovery is limited due to the fact that your bootloader is locked. You can get L9RecoveryInstaller here.
Use the offline KDZ method to install a prerooted CWM backup which you can find here

Yes a rooted ROM is a must. Remember this recovery is for locked bootloaders

Thanks, I'll give it a whirl. I'll let you know if my phone explodes.
I can't seem to get this phone rooted. And that's all I want, for it to be unlocked. No custom roms or anything like that(for now at least).
Is there any quick way to do this?
I'm using android 5.0.2
with kernel 3.4.0+
build number LRX22G
software version D41520c
If there's any other info you need then please ask. I'll really appreciate any help with this...
Thank you
By the way I tried the towel method and one other I can't remember at the moment

You have to root using the lg one click root script
Ah ok.. I was hoping there was another one click way like towel root.
Is this script a Windows only thing?

Says I need to install. Net framework v4.0.30319
Sent from my LG-D415
Ok I got it rooted. The script worked, not the gui.
So anyways, not that I'm rooted what are some cool things I can do? Doesn't overclocking save battery or something like that? And can't I now uninstall those pesky system apps that came with the phone?
Any help will be appreciated.
Sent from my LG-D415
You can download system bloat remover from the playstore
Yeah I did that already. I'm not exactly everything I can uninstall, but I got a lot of the T-Mobile bloat off of it.
Plus I installed greenify. Besides that haven't done much else. Any other ideas will be appreciated.
Sent from my LG-D415
Depends on how you wanna use the root actually
I don't really know what I want to do now that my phone is rooted. So I'll have to browse the site and see what others adds doing.
I do know that my battery seems to be draining faster ever since I rooted and installed greenify.
Usually used CM battery on my unrooted, so now I just uninstalled it and going to see if that helps at all.
Are there battery savers that clash with Greenify?
Thanks

Anyone have a list of bloatware that can be removed without bricking the phone for the Lg k7?

I believe one of the other forums on here has several debloated stock roms, other then that you could just try it yourself if you knew what you were doing. What i have done before was deleting stock apps and flashing back to stock if i messed up, really do your research before hand though. Pretty soon we will have a custom rom, since it looks like some Russian people have cm working on the other forum.
I usually only remove a few apps. Not too many. A few metro apps and a very few google apps.
