I wan't to use Gear fit auto unlock function with my Note 3
I can't find the auto unlock menu in gear fit manager. Where is it?
AFAIK there is no such a thing. Or am I wrong?

Accordind to the Gear's fit user manual this function exists.

Activating the auto lock feature
Set the mobile device to lock automatically when it is disconnected from your Gear.
On the Settings screen, tick Auto lock.
Tap Continue, draw a pattern by connecting four or more dots, and then draw the pattern
again to verify it. When the Gear Fit is disconnected from the mobile device, you must draw
the pattern to unlock the mobile device screen.
The mobile device’s screen is automatically unlocked when the Gear Fit is connected to the
mobile device
I think that this is only for S5.

It's in the Gear Fit Manager under settings. I have the S5 so you might be right that it only works for that phone.
I don't have this option on my S4.

strange..i'm on 4.4.2 too and don't see this feature
but i don't need it anayway since i have tasker :victory:
Works well with S5, but when you are far from Fit, only can unlock S5 with pattern, so I don't like it (I prefer use finger print).

I'm having the same issue with my Gear Fit and Note 3. I don't have the option in Gear Manager to auto unlock the phone when connected although I'm pretty sure I used to as the auto unlock was a very useful feature. Perhaps a Gear Manager update removed this option. I've downloaded Tasker from the Play Store, any ideas how to set it up to allow me to auto unlock my phone when connected to the Fit? Cheers.

I've gone from galaxy gear 1 to gear fit using a Note 3 and I'm disappointed that the latest version of fit manager doesn't have this option, at least with the Note 3.
You can use Tasker to control the lock when the fit is connected as a bluetooth device. I don't use Tasker at the moment so hopefully someone else will chime in with the exact details.
same here. Galaxy S4 (i9505), 4.4.2 and no auto lock in the GFM menu.
I just flashed my S5 from KitKat to Lollipop and can't find the option anymore. Very annoying since that was one of my favorite features of the Gear Neo.

It looks like in lollipop the function has been replaced by trusted devices.

Has anyone figured out how to enable "Personal Unlocking"
It was demo'ed at I/O. If you have your android wear device in range, it wont prompt you to unlock your phone.
I cant seem to find it, im running L preview.

i'm not sure it's available yet in the preview, wish it was since that is what i'm running, but if it is yeah more details about it would be nice to.
I'm pretty sure it's not available yet. It will be in the full release of L. I'm guessing it was just a demo at Google I/O and it's still too buggy or similar.
There are a number of apps that can do this. I use SkipLock and I have heard that pebble locker can do this. I don't however use L Preview as it really driver so I'm not sure if SkipLock works in the preview

True, I'm just using tasker and secure settings to unlock my phone when the watch is connected. When it's disconnected tasker checks whether I manually disconnected (cause I'm home and want the watch to charger eg) or whether the watch or the phone got stolen and then takes appropriate action (alarm, photo, tracking, password lock, etc)

im using pebble locker and it works (i paid 2.99 for the app though if that bothers you)

Does anyone know if Pebble Locker or Skiplock has a on/off widget. I would like a one touch on/off feature for when I'm in the car, etc., and it would help to have one vs. having to go through serveral menus. I just installed Skiplock and couldn't find one, so I figured I would ask here.

Do you not wear your G Watch in the car? With skiplock just have your watch set as a trusted Bluetooth device and as long as it is connected you shouldn't need your phone's pin/password.

Sorry, maybe I should've been more clear. Yes, I wear the Gwatch in the car. But I only want to be able to use Trusted BT Device in the car and not when my phone is sitting my desk at work for example and I'm in range with my watch. Therefore, I'd like to be able to toggle Skiplock on and off with a toggle vs. having to find the app, start the app, click on settings, turn on the slider, close app. I don't see a on/off toggle in the widget gallery so I was asking if Pebble Locker had one or there was one with SL that I was missing.

If you have root I believe you might be able to do this with tasked and the secure settings plugin. Do you have a WiFi network at your work that you can connect your phone to? I think I might try to set this up on my own after I get off of work for the weekend.

Ive searched my sweet a$$ for it, all possible downloads of it re-direct to the Play store, but Play wont let me download it

this is an app that the store wont allow me to download, so I want the APK to sideload
No, Bluestack has the normal Play Store, so you can download the app and then you can export the apk with es file manager to your documents.
Just use Google there are 100000 tutorials for that.

trying on the bluestack, but there I find SLeep Genius, but not Sleep Genius for Gear Fit .... WTF
ahhh I see, I had Bluestacks on my pc some time ago,but didnt really use it much & uninstalled it.
since I posted, Ive managed to get this APK from a friend. Seems the APP is available for Galaxy S5 owners, so was able to get it via an S5 emulator.
So I have the app installed & its working perfectly on my Note 2 + GearFit so far

Just like in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2718949, point about Get Fit Apps Working (Optional). But for me to get it work o set name and device to SM-N900S (no "N" in description).
Requires root, you can find build.prop editors in Play Store. Can be undone, I guess it can has some consequences I'm not aware of right now.

Well yes, the phone has to be connected to Bluetooth to use any app. That's how it works.
There is no option for Gear fit in the app itself. That's just how it is, but it works.
You just start the app on your phone and it'll pop up instantly on the Gear Fit. You can set the app to do what you want it to on the phone
Or
On the Gear Fit, go into 'app connect', and sleep genius is there and will star & you can set it to what you want.
But again, if Bluetooth is off - it won't work. That goes for all apps made for it to use via the phone.
I leave my phone charging overnight with Bluetooth on each night to use Sleep Genius, that way it's still fully charged in the Morninglike usual.

Thanks but it doesn't work for my Moto G yet... When I click on app connect and Sleep Genius I've got an error. This is the same when I wanted to use gear fit quick settings... But one day, the app updated and it begins to work, so... waiting for an update for sleep genius for gear fit.

Well this app's apk is the exact one from the play store - made for Samsung/GearFit. its not modified in any way to work with other phones.
if people with non-samsung phones get this to work - thats good luck
I have a samsung, Note II & it works perfect.
If you want it to work on some other phone, thats on you to figure out. I simply shared the std apk file, good luck.

I've tried several tutorials which say it works with previous android 4.3. But it does not run on the phone stays on the loading screen and fit the gear fails Connection.
I have also tried a tutorial but can not find adb fastboot drivers.
I have updated gear fit for kies.
I have also tested on a S3 and it works perfectly.

Google hangout or any sms aplication (go sms ^^). Remember turn on its notification on your gear manager and set it to your default sms app

redmi note 3g - mtk 6592 CPU. I don't know why but with mkt6589-6592 gear fit not sync. May be someone know why ? Gear fit require Bluetooth 4.0 with BLE and most smartphones with mtk6592 have Bluetooth 4.0 with BLE (Low energy) but not sync with gear fit

So we have already come Gear fit to join, and invited me to agree to the terms. When I confirmed that the application crashed. And I'm back at the beginning ... what next?
That's weird it doesn't crashes to me. Maybe check the app permissions

I already tried these apks, but didn't work on my G3 (MM).
My LG G4 is now running on Android 6. I tried Gear Fit Manager v2.0.15 but failed to launch the app. Is there any way to make my Gear Fit to work with my G4? Appreciate you help!

The only way that I can do it, it´s using openfit app, beacuse The Fit manager crashes every time I tried.
So you want to use this excellent smart watch, only with openfit, there´s no other way to make it work.

gear fit manager v. 1.92.1110 (this is the only version can work with & not force close)
GearFitInstaller v. 2.9
it's a bit works on notifications like whatsapp, gmail, facebook, you will get the notifications, you can see the message from whom but can't see the message content......not works on calls, alarm and no notification selection for schedule.
it can't be reconnected automatically, i have to off & on the phone's bluetooth myself to make it reconnect. but if i restart my phone, it can't be reconnected until i unpair the gear fit from bluetooth & pair again (data still there).

Anyone know if the Gear Fit 2 will work with a phone that is rooted. I have read that the Gear app that is needed for Gear Fit 2 will not work if it sees that the phone is rooted.

I installed the Gear Manager app from the play store on a A500FU with custom 6.0.1 ROM.
I tried using suhide - did not help, detected the phone as rooted
Also tried using Xposed v85 and rootcloak module, did not work either
any ideas?
I just rooted my new S8+ and when I installed the samsung gear I get an Notice saying that the phone's OS been modified in an unauthorized way and it's not compatible with the samsung gear app. Anyone experienced the same issue? Is there a way to go around so I can connect my gear fit 2 to my S8+? Thank you

I was able to get it to work and get notifications, but S-Health wouldn't work. Funny though because it works on non Samsung phones. I've been experimenting with Open Fit, but so far, I'm not happy with it.

Hi there. I manage to make it work also shealth. I had to go to build.prob and rename anything that says samsung to htc and now it works fine

This isn't the file in root is it? I have no Samsung entries in that file. I'm going to check the Samsung.apks and see what in them.

yes its on root what i change was ro.product.brand=htc and ro.product.manufacturer=htc
btw i have Ressurection Remix ROM
