How many water markers are on the S4? I know there's one right under the battery. But is there others?

There are 2 water markers, one on the battery and one on the battery compartment.
That's it? My girls phone is going nuts, I took the battery out and the battery is damaged, but the phone is not. So I'd rather get a new one under warranty instead of insurance.

:-( dropped face down on concrete. Happy to say gorilla glass doing its job. Got a light chip on the front bezel and light scratches on the physical button.
Can I do anything about this to even out the scratch or do I have to just move on

Impressed from what height did you drop it?

I got lucky. It was classic concrete in a factory. Dropped from my pants pocket, I'm about 6', so you do the math, ha ha.

there is scratch removal kit for acrylic, not sure it will work, you might want to try it
I would freak out if I drop my new phone lucky nothing broke down.
I don't even dare to think about dropping it. My sg1 was capable of independent flight and survive it due to that little edge around the glass.

I would get a tiny matte finished decal and put it over the button.
Of course this is pretty difficult...
The other night I stupidly hit a can of coke over onto my rez. I soaked it in rice and everything is functioning except for the proximity sensor and a mark that was caused by the liquid. The mark is getting larger constantly and now has most of my screen taken over. The touch screen still functions there but the mark is a gigantic nuisance. I also checked behind the battery and there isn't a sticker to detect water. So if there is no definite indicator that it was liquid damage should I take my phone to verizon, should I just cut my losses and buy an off contract phone, or should I just suck it up and deal with it?

There is supposed to be one on the edge of the battery itself, one in one of the screwholes of the red chassis cover, and one on the internal board near the headphone jack.
Make your own risk assessment based on the location of the liquid relevant to those areas, and know that sugar still may leave a telling residue after drying.
If there is no sticker, I would assume they would immediately think you removed it, thereby voiding your warranty. If they catch it after you've sent it in, you're SOL.

you can order a sticker to put on the phone look on amazon or ebay... I forgot what they are called
Use insurance if you got have it otherwise pony up the $$$.
There is a sticker on the battery and it has red x's all over it, that's it right?

Yep.
Hit asuron up and pay the 100 or buy a sticker.

There is a sticker on the motherboard itself. I have seen numerous times taking my rez apart.

You have to open the phone to see that and for this guy to check it he would void his warranty.

I dropped my last rezound in the toilet.. it completely submerged and after grabbing it and trying to get the back cover off to pull the battery (with wet hands :/) as I'm sure you can imagine how long that took. After getting the battery out I let it sit in rice for 36hrs booted back up and had zero problems.. that being said when I returned my rezound for over heating issues over five months ago Verizon didn't/ still hasn't said anything about it. And i seriously doubt they'll pull part every rezound that got sent back. Especially of it boots up..

I had something similar happen with a thunderbolt. I had a bottle of snapple break open in my backpack, and it just doused my phone. I let it dry out, and it booted, then immediately hard bricked. Never breathed life into it again. I used the asurian warranty because the stickers were clean and you couldn't see water damage under the screen.

So sick of ppl like you. No one talked about fraud. If you pay the full asurion warranty, it covers water damage.
@graythewolf. Start reading better. OP asked if there were other water stickers on the phone. That's what my post was about.

If he did and provided that he doesn't try and claim warranty which it seems like everyone enjoys going in situations like this where there is no proof. Although it's not exactly water damage as much as accidental but eh.

Does anybody know what the extra contacts are for, under the battery cover (not the ones for the antennas)?

The Incredible 2 has four contacts, the 4G has five. It probably has something to do with the number of pups each phone can nurse.

It's for wireless charging, you can buy a charging mat and a new battery cover that uses those contacts to charge the battery through induction. You can find the mat and cover on Verizon's website.

Twice unfortunately, once face down onto a tile floor and cracked the LCD display (not the glass though), then a few weeks after getting my replacement it fell getting out of my car and cracked the display again. Ausurion canceled me

All it takes is one drop right on the face to smash the glass. It's a bad design flaw. The glass is glued on so that it sticks out past the bezel. The bezel needs to guard the glass. I hope they fix this on the GN3. Don't carry it around without a case. You'll be sorry.
Dropped it twice on concrete but luckily both times my Otterbox did its job. Definarltely a satisfied customer.

Yes just experimenting at the moment, Thinking of a way to get it all covered at the back with a ergonomic design.

It really comes down to personal preferences.... Some don't want the Bulk or don't mind carrying spare batteries or a charging cable.. Some like myself, don't want to deal with all that jazz of having to charge 2-3 batteries for the next day... So, I go for the 7500mAh Batt... It's bigger and heavier but, I only charge once a day and that's when I go to bed ..
