Your internet speed looks good (compared with mine your is F1 Car), so downloading sources won't be a problem.
However I suggest you at least 1GiB RAM if you want to do it fast and no lag.
Choose 1024MiB at least if you have greater than 2GiB RAM to host Windows.
I use Ubuntu 12.04 in Virtualbox, host Win 7 32 bit.
1536MiB RAM to Ubuntu out of 4GiB,
and my internet is just 40 kbps. Still I can compile.
So for you compiling won't be a problem.
Press Thanks if helped.

Thats bs! You can't build anything with 1gb ram unless you're willing to wait 15-20hrs! Get a 4gb ram since Compiling depends a lot on ram.. Get at least a 4gb

and this must be a record:
Ubuntu 10 worked like a charm, Ubuntu 12 is slow because of Unity, but non-gnome gui worked as fast as on Ubuntu 10.
@synapsea, this is not a dual-boot, Ubuntu is running alongside Android OS, and you cant expect it to be fast
can ubuntu running as OS on xperia not just running within app ..is that possible ..

I honestly dont know, hope that someone with more experience answers that question. But i'm pretty sure, to begin with, you would have to have unlocked bootloader.
As for dual boot (2 OS, only 1 running - unlike the example above when both are running), i read somewhere that it's not possible with Xperia phones, as they are apparently lacking some feature that enables dual-booting.
btw. Ubuntu is not running as an emulation, inside a program, it's running side by side as far as i know

Uploading。。。
Just curious: what is the RAM usage of this Sense 5 ROM (total usable RAM, and RAM used by system after a clean boot)?
AOSP KitKat lowers the usable RAM to around 740 MB which is some 75 MB less than Sense ICS, thankfully AOSP's system takes up less RAM than Sense, but if this has the same RAM usage as Sense 4 but with the lower total amount of usable RAM of JB/KK then it's gonna be hard to live with.

Switched from Gs4 to gs5 Ram questions

So i just switched over from the gs4 to the gs5 and Am i the only that notices that so much ram is being used on this phone even when all programs are closed with my galaxy 4 it would be at round 600-700mb with the galaxy 5 I can't get it under 1gb with everything closed ? is this normal ? Also phone feels way laggier than the galaxy 4 am I the only one noticing this ? any tips on how to improve this kind of dissapointed, Btw I already rooted the phone......... Another problem TWRP when I make backups it seems to be fine but when I try to open the backups they are empty just takes me to a rom like if it was brand new never configured ??? Also tried using CWM and doesn't seem to find a compatible version ??? Thanks for all the help ahead of time

1. RAM usage looks about normal
2. It shouldn't be laggy at all. My device has no lag at all, even from wakeup. Try flashing the NE5 rom.
3. TWRP backups work fine for me, sorry I can't help with that. Try re-flashing TWRP.
I had s4mini free ram max 900mb
Now I have n7100 and its around max 900mb, I think sam has a lot of apps there in RAM.
Is ridiculous that this phone takes 1 gig with all the apps closed..... we only have less than 1 gig to play with.... kitkat is supposed to use about 500mbs the other 500mb+ is samsung crap

That's What I Was Thinking ....
N Now What Bothering Me IS X is 32 bit ... not 64 ,,, will it be updated beyond Marshmallow
P.s. It Will Be My First Time Using ONE+ Don't Familiar With Their Updating Record
Enabling force gpu seems to improve it. Let custom roms come. Oxygen os isn't so stable
Update : Here is something I noticed. Some games like microtrip and into the dead(which is reasonably graphically intensive) and certain others work perfect. Even antutu's graphic test ran pretty good. I don't know what to make of this. Maybe someone knowledgeable could say more about this.

Woo
I've used ram manager pro to create swap space for
testing purposes.
In extra tab, tap swap to create swap with directory of your choice!
Can create as much as 4gb.
what for ? getting 64gb of ram ain't make your phone faster than 2gb
Swap makes no sense on a memory optimized OS as Android. Storage is always slower than RAM and SD cards are even slower.
Besides, on Android free RAM is wasted RAM, having more apps loaded into RAM makes multitasking faster.
This is the worst idea i've ever read.
