Go into settings > wifi > and uncheck always allow scanning. That should do the trick.

Wireless tether issues with Theory Roms

I have an issue using the wireless tether app included with monolith theory. When ever the screen turns off, I lose internet connection, but it instantly comes back when the screen is turned back on. I had the same issue with the first theory Rom as well.
Has anybody else experienced this?

I haven't tried the wireless tether, but have you checked in settings under wireless and network - mobile network settings to see if the box that says "enable always on mobile data" is checked? If that box is not checked, the data will turn off when the screen goes off. Hope this helps!

In the Wireless Tether App, unchecked Disable Wake Lock.

I will try it when I get home and see if that fixes it.

Delete Wifi calling...help please

Can someone PLEASE tell me where to find the wifi calling service and or app so that i can get rid of this garbage annoying service and icon. Thank you.
No it's not in my settings. Yes I'm using a custom Rom but no one else using the Rom is having the issue so if someone could just tell me where to locate it in root explorer that'd be great. Thanks
Btw I deleted the WiFicall.Apk in system /app and it's still there so I know that's not it

Have you tried tried unchecking the box under Settings/More settings (under Wireless and network)?

IN the phone app, menu settings, should be at the bottom.
Under the dialing tab, hit the menu, choose call settings
at the bottom under Internet Call Settings
Try Titanium Back Up from Playstore, and go to Menu ---> Then Batch, find it and un-install it from there.
Lol it's not in either of those places. It's not in titanium backup either. Anyone know where it is in system?

Wifi calling is an awesome feature for those of us who travel internationally or have bad coverage in our homes.

Lol thanks for that but it doesn't help my situation. Well I solved my own situation by installing a new rom. So its all good now.

Does it count as calling from abroad? Or does it just use regular minutes?
Go to settings > More Settings and uncheck wifi calling
And wifi calling deducts from your limited minutes. It isnt free calling but its just in case you have a bad phone signal you can use someones wifi to make calls. Once you make that call you cant be out of the wifi range or your call will drop. I disabled mine.

Auto call from messaging app

Does anyone know if they removed the feature where you are in messaging app in a conversation and then hold the phone to ear and it automatically dials that person? I can't seem to find it.

Thanks. I actually had it enabled. I guess I turned it on when I went through the settings real quick and didn't even realize it. It wasn't working, I had to toggle it off and back on to get it to work.

What part of a Rom/command turns data off while on WiFi, is it the build.prop or something else

Thanks for the suggestion but it seems that toggles data on/off in general and I want it to toggle it automatically when only on wifi which I did use the search with no luck hence why I am asking in the "Q&A Section"

seems like i did not understand your question clearly before. anyways, just to clarify if both WiFi and mobile data is on, the system uses only WiFi, i hope that is how your phone behaves.
I think that might be possible via apps like Automate it/tasker, however i don't seem to understand the need for doing that.
Does that help? i am still wondering if i got your question correct.
Maybe approach from a different angle.... what are you trying to accomplish once you have the ability to toggle data while on wifi?
Ok let me be more clear I'm wondering what controls the data icon visibility when on WiFi, on every phone I've had the data icon isn't present when using WiFi except this one

Wasnt it like a setting that said check for network data in the case of poor wifi. Think thats an option in some roms but maybe stock Max has it enabled by default. I will keep my eye on it at home wifi later.

Yea I've looked all over the max so I'm thinking its something that can be changed in the framework ... Juice defender works but I'm trying not to half to use an aftermarket program. Please advise

I noticed last night on mine that occasionally it had the 4G and wifi on together. Haven't particularly had time to try to dig up what I thought I read before.
Well let me know if you come up with something

WiFi tethering

I got the root and have tried changing the tether_dun_required string in settings storage and have tried using foxfi and WiFi tether router to get free tethering but none of these methods have worked. If anyone knows a working method I would really appreciate you sharing it. Thanks in advance.
Nevermind I just ran it again without even changing the config and it works. I guess that's not a bad thing but I gave up on that and now it suddenly works...

I am using supersu and wifi tether for root users created by muller, lemons, buxton
All I did was:
1. Change Device Profile - Auto
2. Change Setup-Method - Auto
3 Enable acess control checked it
4.Routing fix checked
5. Vibrate on connect checked
6. Disable wake-lock checked
Here is a fix without a wifi tether app
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=55707846
I just got my phone yesterday at best buy and couldn't find that post. I rooted my phone and did it my way but will try that way now since it looks so much easier. The wifi tether app you have to restart your phone after turning the app off to get back to normal, thanks for posting that link.
