If you have Xposed installed (root required), you can do it with the Wanam Xposed module under it settings in System > Disable wake HOME button.

Can I just ask why you would want to disable this? I find it very convenient that the home button wakes the screen.

I love xposed but sometimes it breaks some or all of the status bar theming.

You can clear recent app on a phone with button by long pressing the home and swipe on an app; with a phone with software button like Galaxy nexus you can use the multitasking button and swipe the app you want to close.http://forum.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

I know that you swipe to clear one app, but I'm after a mod that clears all of them

Hi all,
I've managed to disable a voice because it never works.
I keep getting network error.messages, but I want to change the double tap home button to open google voice search.
Thanks in advance

Did you ever find a way to do this? I would also like to remap the double click of the home button...

I've tried home2, but found it to be rather unreliable/laggy at times (using stock rom). I was hoping for a flashable mod of some kind.
Has anyone found away to disable the home button from waking the phone?

its an option in Wanam Xpose if you rooted.
Anyone know if there's a setting where I can swipe down on the status bar and just get the notifications to show up? Everytime I swipe down I get the volume bars and the toggles so I have to swipe up to hide them. It's rather annoying

I think it's that way by design. I remember having a custom stock rom on my G3 that had that as an option but it's was never that way in the pure stock rom....
When you pull down, swipe the quick settings panel all the way to the left (at the right most option). You should see the quick settings edit button. Click that button and it will bring you to a check list. Uncheck brightness and volume

On my G2 I had a menu soft button at the bottom of the screen. On this phone, I don't see any way to add that button. I use Enhanced Email for my exchange email, and I can't do anything without that button. Any ideas?

Dedicated menu button?
Is there any way to flip the long touch/short touch behavior here, or (even better) add a dedicated home touch button for the menu? I use the menu button way more than "recent".

If you have t-mobile device and rooted, xpose such as gravity or tweakbox will do that

Awesome. Do you have a specific recommendation about which one to use?
Note: for people in the future, this looks like a good place to go for instructions on how to add Xposed.
