[Q] recovery of hidden pictures after software update to 4.2.2 - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i have some hidden photos in my SAMSUNG GALAXY S2 PLUS ...
since updating my cell phone to 4.2.2. i cant locate them anywhere in my cell phone .
please any suggestions in this regard ...

Try Recuva (Google it), or any of the recovery apps on Google Play. But be warned, there's a fair chance you may not be able to recover them. Backups are your friend.

Did you use a specific app to hide them?

Using Android phone for surfing the web

Hello guys
My phone is Huawei Ascend G525 with Android 4.1.2
I have two questions I hope you answer it honestly:
1- If it's safe to use my phone for surfing the web everyday? I've installed an Antivirus called 360 SECURITY. Is it necessary to have it in the phone?
2- Is there any possibility of bricking device while I've turned off the UNKNOWN SOURCES and also installing apps from GOOGLE PLAY?
Please guide me.
Note that my device is non-rooted and I won't root it.
thanks.
it's safe to browse the web. just be cautious on what you're clicking. same for the play store. theres no way to brick your device from the play store but that doesn't discount malware-infused apps.
what are you afraid of doing to your phone? if you don't root, you could always just factory reset and your phone will be fixed (more or less)

[Q] Directory Bind with Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Hi there,
After screwing up my Samsung S3 and until I can somehow get it fixed, I am seriously considering purchasing a Samsung Galaxy Note 3, but really 'only' if I am able to successfully root it and able to run ''Directory-Bind' on it as I do on my S3 now. Could I get a thumbs up here that Directory-Bind is compatible with a Galaxy Note 3 running Android 4.3, or if if it's not compatible, a suitable alternative, as I want to be able to mount an external SD card and run apps/games from that, as I do now with my S3. If Directory-Bind isn't compatible with, can someone please name me a good suitable alternative that is?
As usual, if this question has been answered previously, my apologies.
Thanks in advance.

You need to post in the note 3 forums.
Do you have a s3 i9300? If so why not post whats wrong with it and see if we can get it sorted.

Sorry, my bad, my post was 'supposed' to be in the Note 3 section, I don't know what happened.
Someone already addressed my S3 problem in another thread( http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...3-question-t2690307/post54013380#post54013380 see below) , but I still haven't been able, due to illness, to fix it.

I'm in the UK and rooted my Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300) well over a year ago, using, the CF Root method from these very forums.
All had been working just fine until about a week ago, when I (stupidly) installed an apk that was 'supposed' to add KitKat features to my stock 4.1.2 ROM. It was from this article "http://androidcritics.com/get-android-4-4-kit-kat-android-devices/" that I installed two of the provided apk's, namely 'Google Home' and 'Google Velvet' (an apk that claimed to add 'Google Now' features to my ICS ROM). Now, I so regret taking the risk of installing those two apk's, as now, as soon as my SGS3 has booted up and detected the 64GB SD Card (running with Directory Bind), I get a message that states 'Unfortunately Google Search has stopped'. When I try to open Google Search, it says unable to load data, and trying to run Google Play now always says 'No Connection, retry?' All was fine before I installed those 2 apk's. Even when I try to download something via the Play Store in Firefox on my PC and try to send that to my SGS3, that now fails too. In-game purchases won't connect either (No Connection, again) I'm really confused, because some apps connect to the Internet via WiFi, such as Dolphin Browser,Yahoo Mail and facebook; but, ANYTHING to do with Google, including GMail seems not to or just plain won't connect, although Google maps does connect.
After this problem started, I immediately, using Odin 3 v1.85, successfully flashed my SGS3 with CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4.tar, but that has made absolutely no difference and has fixed nothing. My phone is way past its warranty, so getting it fixed by Samsung is out of the question, and my only (hopeful) solution is to ask you guys for a working fix/solution, please?
I've connected my SGS3 to the latest version of Samsung KIES (via USB) on my PC and KIES states there is a software update for my phone available (it doesn't however mention what the software update is or what for), but it says I may lose data on my phone, and I don't want to lose my data and settings; so, somehow, I'm going to need to make some kind of backup, yes? What would be the best application for backing up my internal SD to my PC, as I unfortunately don't even have space on my PC's HDD to make a backup of that at this time.
My SIII states there are 600 installed applications (of which the vast majority still function just fine, except some that need to connect to the net via WiFi (some will and some now won't)), that I really haven't got the time or energy to reinstall all of them again, so can someone please point me in the direction or post(s), explaining the best way to back up my internal memory and settings (I don't have the HDD space to back up the entire data contents of apps on my external SD card at the moment, so I'm guessing backing up the internal 11GB will save all the relevant data I need). I'm sure backing up like this has been covered in a separate post, so any pointers to those posts would be useful, thanks.
But the most important thing for me at the moment are to get my Google Services and Wi-Fi issues fixed.
One last problem.....When I try to open Applications Manager in Settings, it stays open for about 10 seconds then force-closes. I'm guessing that having the high number of installed apps n games installed is causing this, is it? Because of this, I don't seem to be able to delete the davik cache on things like Google Play, etc.
I've managed to reset (global) App preferences in Applications Manager, but that's as far as I can get in there before it force-closes itself.
I've tried logging on to YouTube, using my regular Google account, but nothing happens.....I don't get it. Would I need to remove my regular Google account from my phone and then fill it in again??
I even reinstalled Google Play (Playstore v4.0.27.apk) and Google Search, but both still don't connect to the Net.
If you have any other questions regarding my problems) or need any more details from me, to help with a solution to these problems, then please go ahead and ask me. Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to put is as much detail about my problems as I could.
Many thanks in advance, sincerely, Al."
Briefly, the problem is, I tried installing a couple of APK's on my rooted 4.1.2 Samsung Galaxy S3 that were supposed to install Google Now. They pretty much did that, and it's working, but it has screwed up just about everything else Google-related, including Gmail (just always force-closes), Google Play (won't connect), Now, when I try to log into my Google account on my S3 (with my correct email and password), I always get the message "Couldn't sign in - Can't establish a reliable connection to the server. This could be a temporary problem or your Android device may not be provisioned for data services. If it continues, call Customer Care."
This was never a problem before since I removed my Google account from my S3 and tried to add it again, in order to try to fix the problems with Google Plat and Gmail. Now, Google Plus doesn't work too.
Everything else, all apps n games, including Wi-Fi connection to my router work just fine, except connection to the Play store and trying to update or add apps to my S3 via my PC.
I've been told to download an original stock 4.1.2 ROM in zip format and stick it on my external SD card, but I have yet to find exactly where to find a stock 4.1.2 ROM in zip format in order to put it on my external SD card - any pointers would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I hope this covers everything for a minute.
Cheers, Al

Recovering deleted photos - free - Samsung Galaxy Core Prime

Hi,
I need some application which is able to recover my deleted images from phone Samsung Galaxy Core Prime. I tried to find something but all is paid. Exists something for free or some other easy way how to get photos back? Thanks for each idea.
Paid applications:
GetDataBack
Wondershare
Android photo recovery
Recover - from UndeletePlus
EaseUS® Data Recovery
Remo Recover
. . .
SOLUTION:
I needed root first and after bigger investigation I found WORKING solution on this page
Code:
http://www.recovery-mode.com/root/how-to-root-samsung-galaxy-core-prime-lte-sm-g360f-android-lollipop-5-0-2.html
Then I used DiskDigger and I was able to get all deleted photos.

Need to root

I have accidentally reset my phone last day. My kid's pics were almost in it.
My primary need is to retrieve them from the phone's disc. Is there any kind of way other than specialised apps. When i tried easeus , it says i should root my phone first. How could i do for the A3 with spec attached
Try rooting with one click root apps like kingroot or kingoroot.
Rooting through flashing magisk or alike would require you unlocking the bootloader, which will delete all data on your phone and there's no recovery from that.
Try using dr.fone or other third party apps don't just use one app.
Maybe an authorized service center can help.
Other than that there's no recovery for the lost data. If you had sync on and google photos pre-reset then you may find the photos in google photos.
Hope I helped.
