Try installing the custom stock kernel by Rafael Baugis for stock rom. It has init.d support. You can then install CronMod on your stock rom. Here is the link,
Rafael Baugis Kernel
Do post the result. Hope I Helped
I used already rafaele3 + cronmod in stock and custom rom know all itineraries. But I want to continue with stock kernel and stock rom to be bug free. I tried to install app box toogle init.d + + cronmod busy and did not work even fulfilling all the requirements of cronmod script that is init.d support + busybox + ext partition in cwm, all in stock. Did not want to use rafaele3 nor thunder kernel or kernel hell.

Sadly Samsung has made its stock kernel in such a way that we cannot enable init.d support to it. I know your feeling of using CronMod with stock rom as stock is stable and bug free. But sadly we can't enable init.d support unless ofcourse if we install a custom stock kernel. I tried a lot of apps like toggle init.d but none of them where able to enable init.d support to stock kernel. So since you don't want to use custom kernels, my answer would be its not possible. Hope I Helped
It helped a lot, I'm looking for days that solution, and I know now that it does not exist. This would be a great challenge for the developers of 5830i, create a solution to support init.d our stock kernel.

If we make it to support init.d folder, it will became a custom kernel. Kernel need an ext patition too. Without it, can't run any increase internal memory script. Just a one proper given. Just use custom kernel while its can't read sim contact. Just backup contact where ever does you putted all ur contacts.
All users get irate because our small Cooperve does not get JB and KK sources. Just like a kernel which got properly source yet to support sim contact fixed. We are using Broadcom's GPU and CPU. Like that our phone kernel is very difference with Galaxy Y. Galaxy Y has overclocked and sim contact as it worked. Don't you guys feel need a new phone? I really have a new phone 3 months ago. I'm not arrogant that I got a new phone. So we so sad about our phone are very have a low GPU and CPU. We just get an initial video drivers only. That's only for GPU to make HW working properly on ICS. Video drivers is only supported for android 4.0.1. But thanks to BroadcomCM because make HW worked. I'm appreciated all devs that contributed to build a custom kernel and custom rom.

I'm from Brazil, do not dominate the English language, so my questions look like questions of a newbie, I follow the wonderful work of Gabriel since early 2012 when I bought my 5830c, and through him I met the xda forum, I follow all development biel today has been working on CM9 for our sgs. Unfortunately I am not a developer, and I can not help those who still work at the base 5830i. My best experience so far was with stock kernel and stock rom, and I love cronmod script, so I created this issue, to exchange experiences and find out if someone had to find some way to do that. Many thanks for all the help.

I have bad experience with X kernel + hybrom. First time I use Xkernel V2, and everything seem ok, but after update to V2.1 the problem begin. First one is bootloob then, the battery drain super fast, you can say about 20 minute and it gone by 5% without using the phone. After change to Rage kernel it work just fine, althought I really like X kernel
I just heard that X kernel is good for this rom. I will try it. How is battery with rage ?

Watch and follow on the Siyah kernel thread. Gok shall be the one to release it and he shall notify on that thread of its release most likely..
It isn't far off release, I think he is waiting for JB sources to be released. It'll probably come out after the first official JB kernel is released from him He is defiantly testing it all out now in Alpha form..

Hi all
Im using 1.7rc1 with dualboot > this kernel is fantastic ! :good:
But I used 2 different second Roms (last CM10 - JB 4.1.2 & last Liquid v2 RC7 - JB 4.1.2) with my Darky DLJ4 (JB 4.1.1) and every time I booted on the second rom, I got a crash of my ext sdcard where was the rom package !
I had to reformat 4 times my ext sdcard !
Someone an idea why plz ?
Is there something inside the kernel which break my card every time ?
Thanx for all tricks & advices ...
Siyah is an amazing piece of work im using Paranoid Android as my main ROM and Viking as my secondary ROM, if only Gokhan could possibly tweak the kernel for even better battery life but what he has developed to date has been amazing and is definitely one of, if not the best developer on XDA.
Hello, Im new here, well i have xperia neo v rooted on 2.3.4 gingerbread stock kernel and i install the X-parts and i install the Cwm recovery pvypart.
i did it to overclock my device but as i see it cant be on gingerbread. well now i want to uninstall this recovery but i dont know how.. i have search lots of times but nothing found. But as you know about this device have so little interanl memory.. about 225 mb after format, and recovery take 5-10 mb of my memory as I see.. anyway. i realy want to uninstall it but remember, is from x Prart installed, so from rom tool box it can't erase by advances settings..
sorry for my bad language, please help me with that

As I know you need to unlock bootloader and install custom kernel to overclock CPU. CWM installed by X-Parts is located in /system/bin/ so it doesn't affect /data/ space.
If you want to completely remove it then go to sdcard (/mnt/sdcard/) and find directory 'XParts'. Inside it look for 'backup' directory. Copy all files from this directory to /system/bin/ set permissions to 644 and reboot. Done!

AW: [Q] [Cwm recovery] how to uninstall
If you want to overclock your phone you have to unlock your bootloader because you need a custom kernel that supports overclocking. Stock Sony kernel doesn't support overclocking.
You will find custom kernels for gb, ics, jb. If you want to stay with gb you can flash nightelf 10 kernel.
To restore your backup you have saved to your memory card at clockworkmod folder you have to enter cwm. At the point where you did the backup there is an option to restore a backup. Choose this and cwm will list all your backups. Select the one you want to restore and let cwm do his work.

You said you can't over clock at gingerbread and I wrote you can. You can over clock at any android version, you just need a unlocked boot loader because you need to flash a custom kernel.
I don't want you to restore a backup. I thought you didn't know it and that's why I wrote it down.
I don't know how to get rid of xparts. I unlocked my boot loader on my neo v and installed a custom kernel. A custom kernel comes with cwm and root integrated. So now need to spent extra time on it with locked boot loader.
As far as I know xparts is installed temporarily. There are some files at system partition. You just need to delete them and you are done. Just Google some keywords like uninstall xparts. But you need a rooted phone and a file explorer that allows access to system partition. You can use root explorer for example.
Good luck.

Look here and you will get some answers. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1468043
The difference is the feature that the kernel will offer you. You can say light has got the most common features, full has all features and experimental is something like beta.
Normally the latest kernel should be the best.
If you flash night elf kernel you will be able to over clock the phones cpu to a max value. At the moment I don't know what it is. 1.6 or 1.8 GHz. Most kernels offer 1.6 because higher values aren't stable enough. But if you set the value to standard clock the battery will have the same drain like stock kernel. Maybe it will drain a little lower, depending what voltages are set within the kernel at each CPU clock.

1. I can't say much because when i got my neo v Sony released ICS for it and I changed to it.
But normally night elf kernel were battery friendly. In thread there is a battery friendly version. You can also set another governor and scheduler, both affect battery drain.
2. Night elf kernel needs special modules. They are in download list.
3. Look at the sticky. There should be a stock kernel. Another way is to flash a ftf file but deselect all and only select kernel to flash.

Ok my fault. Nightelf uses own wifi modules, which are integrated into kernel and there is no seperated flash needed.
When you are on nighelf and want to go back to stock kernel, you need to flash working modules again. Thats the two files you mentioned. That are the stock modules that come with sony stock rom.
Yes, you can use nightelf kernel on atomic gb.
Just keep in mind:
GB roms need gb kernels, ics roms need ics kernels and jb roms need jb kernels.
If you dont follow this your phone wont boot.
I am no kernel expert. Look at Unix / linux filesystem and find out yourself what cifs and nfs mean.
There are other kernels for gb you can try:
- [kernel][neo] DOOMKERNEL [no longer maintained]
- [kernel] GALAXIAN [uv] [cwm] [working wifi] [ext4]
- ★[kernel] ♪ ♫ titanium kernel ♪ ♫
- inteks kernel clean oc
- [kernel][neo] nightelf kernel mod for fxp rom/achotjanrom/miui rom/stock (042, 062)
- PWNKERNEL GB
All listed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1316394
But GB is quite old and support is getting worse.
Yes advanced stock kernel seems to be a nightelf kernel too.

9- If I am a hard gamer so should I activate Force GPU Rendering & Don't keep activities from "Settings > Developer Options" or not? What they really do? Or if you have any suggestions for gamers on SK17i please tell me about it and I will test any then feed you back.
10- If I want to make a guide for the newbies "Noobs" to share them my experience and to make it easy for them, shall I post it in general or development? And should I refer back to someone before I post the guide "Keeping in mind that I will mention the people who helped me out with their posts or threads and I will add their links"? If yes so please tell me who?
I am so sorry for all these questions but I believe in you guys and I will very much appreciate your usual support.
Best Regards,
DoLcEka

1. Here are all the system apps present in .587 which you can remove :- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2048279
2. Don't install CWM from x-parts. It doesn't work properly sometimes! Use this :- http://theunlockr.com/2012/06/07/how-to-install-clockworkmod-recovery-on-xperia-mini-and-mini-pro/
3. The backup is always for the ROM. You cannot backup the kernel. The size varies on the ROM it can go from 600MB to 5GB. So you better have a 16GB memory card for backups and some of your games/music!
4. As stated, there is no backup for stock kernel! You can flash the ftf of the kernel.
5. Not possible!
6. Most of the kernels support overclocking upto 2GHz. But now devs are making maximum overclocking possible upto 1.6GHz as higher the overclocking, higher risk of device being bricked and s***! Also, all android versions have different kernels. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2148684
7. No idea. Sorry
8. No. There is no market enabler for play store version 4.0.27.
9. If you're a gamer and play HD games on your device, i'll recommend to flash stock GB as it is by far the smoothest ROM in terms of Gaming! Also, you can try CM9/CM10/CM10.1 but they need overclock! And about GPU rendering :- http://pocketnow.com/2012/05/25/what-is-force-gpu-rendering-in-ice-cream-sandwich
10. Obviously the GENERAL FORUM! :silly:

Hello ishan and thank you so much for ur reply and support.. I tried to install CWM through X-Parts but it didn't work, I think because I have unlocked my bootloader.. And I checked the link you provided me but it is for stock ROM 2.3.x so it will not work on my ROM 4.0.x.. So how can I install CWM on my unlocked bootloader device or what are the alternatives ?
Thanks in advance man for you help.

It will work with ICS. I installed CWM with the same thing on stock .587. Just be sure that you get root and check once on flashtool! :good:
It'll work. Trust me or as you have am unlocked BL, flash any kernel supported by ICS. Real simple :highfive:
