I am eager to buy MOTO E ; but want to know if I root moto e and lets say it hangs ; then in worst case for other phones we can remove battery and simply reboot
but in case of moto e we cant do that
so does that mean that once i root and lets say i install some custom rom which hangs later ; my moto e will become useless??
this is the only thing which is holding me back frm buying moto e

Not at all.
Keep pressing the Power button for 10 seconds or so and it will reboot.
Or else press and hold volume down button + Power key until it reboots.

My old sammy used to reboot that way and so mistakenly wrote that.

That's how it is supposed to be. All you can do is be more careful and gentle with it. The only original part of my mote E is the back cover and the central plastic/metallic frame that holds the components together. Battery new (Cost 1500INR, got on discount for 850INR). Motherboard new (Free replacement, costs about 4000INR). Entire display assembly new (1300 INR). Original stuff left = the plastics :silly:

I do not own the phone, it's one of the two phones I'm deciding on. Other is Galaxy Nexus. Now I know it doesn't happen very often, bit if you like to fiddle around with your phone, like I do, it happens. When the phone freezes, none of the keys are working, what do you do. Normaly I just pop out the battery and restart the phone but since Razr has build in batterie I gues thats not an option. What do you do in those rare occasions? Does it have a phisical buton to restart it?

VOLUME DOWN + POWER for 10secs forces the phone to reboot
Tnx! I know it's funny question, but I couldn't find this info anywhere.

I haven't had any freezes so far but this method only worked 9/10 times on my evo 3d so I'm still a little suspicious that this will work for every freeze...

Don't compare apples to oranges. Use both vol buttons + pwr button for about 10 seconds. This does work...i've had to do this.

don't know 'bout funny but all you had to do is type "how to reset droid razr"
and click the very first link..
It works because, differently from the EVO3D, the RAZR has got a working hardware watchdog.
Question about holding volume down and power
Is this reset with holding the power down along with the power button the same sort of reset as if you just hold the power button down and then a window pops up giving you the option to power off the phone. is the volume down and power more for if your phone freezes?
thanks in advance
Its when the phone freezes and no buttons or screen will work.. i had it happen a few times on my old razr and vol down and power button for 10 secs did work

I'm not saying it doesn't work I'm just a bit suspicious that it will work 100% of the time because I was told for my old phone, which I understand is a completely different phone, that a similar method would work 100% of the time and that battery pulls were unnecessary but there were a couple times out of like a hundred when it didn't work and I had to resort to a battery pull. It worked the vast majority of the time, but not every time, which is why I'm a little dubious...hopefully we'll find out soon!

I googled and only found info that said to hold the power button for 10 seconds to initiate battery pull simulation.
However after getting stuck on the boot logo, that didn't work.
I was playing around and discovered its volume up and power for 10 seconds for the One Max.
Hope this helps someone.

its a well known fact that all HTC's with embedded battery, holding power and volume up simulates a battery pull.

I'm going to assume you didn't intend to be as snobby as just appeared to be. It isn't well known to new HTC users, which is why its posted in the help section.
If you Google the issue or search here, you only find info about using just power button for 10 seconds. But that only works if the OS is fully booted. However, that does not apply when you're stuck at the boot logo as I was.
You must use VOL UP and POWER.

It should apply at the boot logo. Well at least it does for me. You should also notice the feedback buttons bottom blinking a few times too. After 10-15seconds of holding down. Immediately switch to Power + Volume Down.
When booting custom kernels and roms that have errors. I don't get farther than that. So I know for sure it works on that screen.

sorry, didnt intend to sound like that guys.
I have a rooted Note 2 and sometimes I get into a situation where I need to pull the battery. Since I would not be able to do this with a G6 how would I get out of freeze-up situations? To me this seems the main reason I would not want any phone where I could not pull the battery. I hope, however, I am wrong.
all you need to do is press and hold the power button on the middle right side of your Galaxy S6 and the volume down key, simultaneously for seven seconds.
Answered by Google
Not had to do it yet though

No worries you can force restart it by pressing and holding the Power key and the Volume down key simultaneously for more than 7 seconds
Thanks for that information. The G6 will be back on my listed as a potential new phone.
So i let the battery on my Moto E die, and when i went to charge it, the notification led will only blink and then i wouldn't turn on.
It also does not respond to holding power button and holding power + vol down
Any help is appreciated
Sorry, your moto e may be dead. No fastboot and let blink is sign of hard bricked moto e which cannot be unbricked by any method(till date).
My moto e hard bricked itself few days ago and all I could get was blinking led and no fastboot. If you are able to fix your moto e then please reply how. May the method work for other owners of a dead moto e.

What do you do to your phone? Does it fell down or stuff loke that? Why Verizon's doesn't respond about the warranty? And finally there are a lot of problems with this phone and its software.
