I found a great thread with a billion (slight exaggeration lol) themed google keyboards in the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4 threads. Actually there are currently 97 keyboards offered and more every week it seems. I have tried many on my S Advance and they work like a charm. A lot of work and effort have gone into the keyboards as well as the thread. Lots of screen shots, as well as contributions by others. All keyboards are Google, and are the latest version. None of this is by me, so all credit goes to the makers of the keyboards, so give them thanks if you give them a try.
Head on over to Shaftamle Themed Google Keyboards and see what there is. Tell them I sent you hahaha
Enjoy...
Good news, Shaftamle has added 12 more themed keyboards to his list bringing the total to 97 to choose from. The latest, "Applesauce" are really nice if you like white keyboards... I do hehehe.
There have been some user additions as well as some from Shaftamle bringing the total to 116 keyboards!!

I have observed lately that most of the ROM's are pretty much the same already, i think the devs has reached the full potential of the device in-terms of speed and performance, they have implemented a great deal of tweaks there is and has done a great job.
i have an idea, in which, the next step is to port the latest version of the APKs being released on higher-end Galaxy line, like SGS and SGS2. Like Phone recording, better Messaging app, brigthness control on home screen etc.
If i could just learn how to code in Java, i tried to read some decompiled APKs like the one in the Camera.smali, it was a nose bleeder

It's great with your entusiasm! I my opinion these apks are easily replaceable with the apps that are available in the market, mostly free as well. So to me, this seem to be unnecessary.
offtopic: lol @ your "nose bleed" expression xD It's an expression mostly used by the philippines, so people from other countries wont understand it
So my first post! I'm on this website all the time and having had 10+ droids its time I made an account!
Any who, I posted this thread to say one of the reasons I bought the note was because the huge keyboard, after the 4.0.4 update Sammy changed their keyboard and added numbers which made it too small for me lol, anyone else prefer the old Sammy keyboard, is there a way I could get it again?
I haven't tried the Sammy 4.0.4 keyboard, as I've been on CM9 since before the official ICS update.
I suggest you search 'ICS Keyboard' in the play store. It's basically the AOSP keyboard which is much better than the Sammy one from GB.
Try out Swiftkey. In my opinion it is the best keyboard for Android.
I prefer the stock ICS/JB keyboard to the samsung one. There is less lag and the voice recognition works better. Try "rapid keyboard" from the market which is basically the JB keyboard ported to be compatible with ICS.
change to the android keyboard already built in and be done with it
The Samsung keyboard has the S-Pen button on it. I want a Samsung keyboard for that reason. The ICS one is smaller, I want the larger buttons from the Gingerbread keyboard. Anybody know how to get this, preferably on a non-rooted device?
The keyboard is one of the many reasons I went back to GB.
Agreed. I miss that keyboard. SwiftKey is pretty good as well.
After updating my note to the ICS I still prefer the old keyboard. I don't use the newer one.

Do you love stock Android but wish it had S-PEN features? Well i do too..so i found this article by zedomax( Im sure you guys know him )
http://galaxynote2root.com/galaxy-note-2-tutorials/galaxy-note-2-s-note-app-alternatives-for-s-pen/ which shows 3 good app replacements for the S-pen in AOSP i like the "G note app" out of all the three (it looks alot and feels alot like the samsung one) Hope this helps you guys out..
I am having fun downloading roms, I was looking for one that has all the latest NOTE features, is there any that are stable, fast and have all the new features for the Note 1?
EDIT: The features are the S pen features and the multitasking features...
Thanks in advance!

The only way to get all Samsung Note features (including mhl and reliable bluetooth) is to run a stock based ROM.
Most custom Roms will support most s pen features either natively or with the use of a 3rd party app.
Multitasking through halo/splitview/floating window etc. is available in many custom ROMs. There are also multi-window mods (2 different mods depending on varient) for the JB stock based ROMs that work identical to that on Note 2.
Speed/reliability varies depending on what you use your phone for and individual ROMs vary also.
Check out the Super Everything thread for the ATT Note i717 or search the android development thread for the features that matter most to you.
Edit: I hope this gives you some direction. Favorite ROM threads are not allowed and I think for most flashers their favourite is the one they flashed after they became bored with their last try.

thanks.. That's a start. I was looking at getting the multitasking windows, the menu that slides out from the side, and the circle menu I guess that is an s pen feature.
I don't know the full names on these, just I have seen them inaction. My 717 is much faster running lollipop. but its not 100 percent stable.

Take a look. I think this is what you were talking about regarding side menu and multitasking.

Hey Guys
Need a fast, tiny and clean launcher, anyone can give me some hints? I`ve tried Action launcher, it seems alright btw. No apus&nova please.
Thanks so much and really appreciate for your advice!!!
Google is your best friend when it comes to this subject, I have been looking for a launcher with the most customization options, so I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum your looking for, there are endless sites that have reviews of all the Android launchers. I have found a lot of random launchers by reading through all the comments people leave on the review sites. With a Lil bit of R & D, you'll find something that fits your needs buddy!

Thanks man! So i used to go with all kinds of launcher, gosh i`ve tried at least a dozen launchers so far i quite go along with Action Launcher. Actually i`ve been testing all the ones with customization and creatives with different devices, while it turns out to be not every laucher go well with all devices esp those low-end devices.
That's for sure majority are impossible to use on low end devices, I had kyocera slide, and I couldn't use any of them cause they hogged so much ram and memory, had a HTC desire 610 for a bit and it could barely run majority, which was a shame, I really like the "next 3d launcher" has great themes and one of a kind in the 3d area, at least that I have found, I had an iphone 4 for what seemed like ages, until I saved up the money to get my LG G3, which can run pretty much anything, now I have gotten into the custom roms and the TWRP recovery, and some if the roms, with out all the bloatware and all the Google Apps that are pretty much useless for me has made the world of difference. If you are a Lil tech savvy, I recommend rooting and custom roms if any are available on your device, nothing else root and delete the obsolete apps on your phone. Even disabling everything ya don't use can make a noticeable difference in performance.

or nova launcher..its pretty good
Hi all ,thanks for your replying, to be honest , me and my team are working on an android launcher project after we trying out all kinds of launchers. One thing that interested us is, most people would care more about the simpleness, easy to use and less RAM consumptions rather than creative&classical design.
And this is the survey we`ve taken from around 50 ppl around the world
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MS6SZ3X
(I`m much obliged if you can take 1 minute to participate as well
As you know there are still many more users who couldn`t purchase a high-end device, which means for those low-end devices, easy. small and handy is the key features they`ve pursuit.
So considering of that, we want to devote all efforts to present a ultimately most light-weight, with lowest ram consumption Launcher. And by using it you can not only experience the same features& as others, we can help you to shut down those unnecessary running apps that may slow down your device speed. And yeah, it needs your phone rooted at first. So how do you think?
If you are still looking for one
