Hello i have been following this forum for a while and a had a problem with my GS2,
After i installed Go Launcher EX to my device i cannot watch avi,mp4 youtube videos they only include sound, only when i rotate the screen i can
see video for a moment, also when i use SW decoder i can see video but it is very laggy
What should i do to fix this problem ?
Thanks.
email the dev of go launcher by clicking email at the play store or change video player, i use MX player and is one of the best video players out there
Dont know that my title is sufficiently clear, same problem could be mentioned here in Q&A, but i dont know how to search that topic, through which sentence or words.
Anyway, when i am trying to watch a movie in my adroid device (Xperia Sola), sometimes it directly opens it with flash player withing the browser (Btw i am using stock) and sometimes it wants me to open with some apps, like Movies, Quickpic and MX Player. Since i am able to play that video with flash player in my computer, i want that video to be played by flash player, not by some apps.
Actually MX Player is better in watching movies, but sometimes it cant grab the movie, but flash player makes no problem like that.
PS: I unchecked "Play HTTP Links" in MX Player, but there is no such option in stock Movies app and Quickpic.
I would be appreciated for your all possible solutions.
Its may be because sometimes the files to be played is flv so it directly plays in flash player sometimes its different like mp4 etc than browser asks you to choose an app...
And if you want than you can choose flash player as default player than it will play in flash player automatically
we all should be polite enough to press thanks for anyone who helped US.
Then, where is that option?
Sent from my MT27i using xda app-developers app
When ever you try to play a video this type of pop up will appear..
So what you have to do is just tick in the box use by default for this action.. Then select whatever player you want to play default..

Since there is no option to play with Flash Player, i cant shoose this.
Experts,
I am using the Alcatel OT-918d (stock rom, root access enabled) and while playing videos in the browser, I do not get an action prompt to choose from the available video players and browser plays the video using "default video player".
The so called "default video player" has been uninstalled though. Have cleared cache, clear defaults, clear data for the browser but still do not get a prompt to choose a video player while playing videos from the browser.
Also installed the "Default App Manager" to check for the default video player. However, it indicates no defaults to play any videos (either from file or streaming videos).
(If I play a stored video from phone or SD card, I do get the prompt to choose a video player. But do not get a prompt if playing any video in the browser.)
Pleas help me to solve this.
Any suggestions to solve this problem...?
That must be the flash content playing. The browser itself plays flash content if enabled.

Thank you so much for your reply. It was the flash player indeed... This is what I tried:
Dolphin browser > Disable the Flash Player > Make 'Desktop' as the User Agent and then access m.youtube.com and now any video will be played using the video player that I have installed... (but the video quality was pathetic even for HD videos probably coz of wrong combination of user agent and the URL used..?)
Next did the following - Dolphin browser > Disable the Flash Player > Make 'Android' as the User Agent and then access m.youtube.com and now any video that is played is using the default media player of the android (or I would say "flash player" of the browser...But the quality of the same video is quite good and played in HD too...Just failing to understand even though the Flash Player is disabled, the video was still played...?).
Any suggestions as to how we can play those "flash based" HD quality videos of m.youtube.com (and other sites) in custom media player like doubleTwist or something else..?
I believe u cant play YouTube videos on custom player. And y not try YouTube official app?

Thank you so much for your confirmation. Yes, the YouTube official app is fantastic and works very good. I was trying to play the online videos (even if they are flash based) with a custom media player like doubleTwist so that the functionality of AirSync offered by doubleTwist can be utilized efficiently.
Hello Everyone!
I am unable to play some videos (which are in .flv format) from Gallery. I understand that HTC Desire X doesn't support .flv videos by default, but we can play it using other players like MX Video Player. How can i choose to open those videos to play in MX Video Player from gallery?
I am able to play those videos after i open MX Video Player. But, i am unable to play it directly from gallery or through OI File Manager.
I have tried clearing defaults of APPS in settings of "Gallery" and "View Video".
Is it possible to get an option to choose video players in HTC Desire X?
Thanks

As you already know know that our phone doesn't support 720p play back, If your flv file is in 720p resolution then it wont play at all no matter what you do.If your file is in lesser resolution then you can play it with good video player like MX video player (but you need to install codac for armv7). other good player is Super video (it can even play 720p videos with ease when SW decorder enabled)
But, how can i make MX Video Player as my default video player in HTC Desire X?
Also, my question was "Is it possible to get an option to choose video players in HTC Desire X when playing videos from Gallery?"
Maybe..Try to open the video from ES Explorer and will ask you with what player to play chose MX Player by deault...Maybe that will work.
hello .. i know it sounds very easy but i tried to clear defaults but nothing .. installed 3 different video players but still it never asks form which player i want to open as default ...
means that it just opens videos with default video player and i dont know now what to do to make mx player as default video player
You must clear as defaults on stock video first if you want to change any video player as default player
Go to setting => application => application manager => more => show system
And then find and tap Video player => set as default => clear as default
i tried that already even took permission to access data on memory but still when i open gallery n touch a video then it opens with video player and video player asks permission to access data on memory
Try to open video file from file manager & don't open from gallery because It will automatically open the default video player
