uninstalling an app - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

I want to uninstall words with friends from zynga, here what they say to do
How to remove Zynga games on your Android device:
1. Open Google Android Menu.
2. Go to Settings and select Applications.
3. Click Manage.
4. Select the application you want to remove from the list.
5. Click Uninstall.
where is the google android menu. I can not uninstall when I go to my setting on my phone, no option to uninstall:crying: this fricken app.

Just go to the Play Store, then My apps, find that app...there should be a tab there to uninstall it.

To uninstall from settings, go to "Settings" | "Application manager", which is probably what is meant by "google android menu", find the application, and there will be a button to uninstall.
You can also uninstall all apps from the play store, as 4-2ndtwin pointed out.

I tried that but it only uninstalls the updates not the whole game. I guess I need my phone to be rooted to do this.

^
Did u try to uninstall that app from the Play Store like i suggested ?

Zenga also sets an account in "accounts" in settings.try deleting that first, then "uninstall" in apps.maybe that will get rid of it completely.

How to shut down applications

How the heck do you shut the applications you are not using anymore? I have a bunch of stuff on and I cant shut them off from the task manager as they dont show there. I cant see and exit or close options off their menu either... Task manager only shows the last 6 used, I cant see all I have open. Do I need an app to close the apps?

Long hold on the Home button brings up your last 6 recent. You still have to press task manager button.
Also Android auto closes programs when it's ready too. They say you use more battery when you constantly close them.

While in task manager if you select the RAM tab, then click clear memory, it will stop everything and only start the necessary system apps again.

Unfortunatly if your not using a rom that doesn't have all the bloatware, sometimes it opens up things like At&t Ready2Go! Very annoying! Lol

With the way android handles multitasking, the manual shutdown of apps is unneeded unless the app is misbehaving.

[Q] Google play app question

Is there a way to delete this list in new google play app?

I hope I don't sound like a prick, but uninstall the programs in that list and I am sure you won't have it. Why would you want to delete your list of installed apps? Also, try AppBrain and FastWebInstall (?, same company) if you haven't. You can make as many lists as you please and delete them with just as much grace. It's pretty much another way of using Play without completely doing so. It's also great because Google's backup and restore isn't perfect.
Perhaps I misunderstood the problem.

This is not only the list of currently installed apps this is the whole device history of installed apps many of them i deleted months ago.

This list depends on with which gmail ID you are logged in. If you login with a different gmail ID, the list will change according to which app you have downloaded using that ID.
So if you wanna hide/delete the list, you need to login with another ID!

Even if you uninstall the programs, the apps will still be in that list since it's a list of your entire account history of installed apps (instead of saying "installed", it will give you the option to install them).

At least I can provide this link from a cursory search:

Sentiment seems to be that we can't as exemplified by the following quote:

Insufficient Storage

I've looked around and found no answer for this.
I'm on Miui V4.1
I'm getting the error "Insufficient Storage Available" when trying to download/update apps
I put the code "df" into commands and got this result, which shows that everything should be pretty good, but IDK whats happening.

Ok...Push a apk or two in your data/app folder and set proper perms then reboot. Afterwards try to update your app(s) or dl a new one from the GPlay.

After doing all that I had to wipe cache/data for Google Play Store since I got some 942 errors.
Then it did come up with a notification saying something along the lines of Low on storage, some phone functionality may be unusable.
After that, I downloaded and installed a "big" app like Temple Run (23mb) and it seems to be good.
It's really awkward at this point. It seems to only be the Google Search app that gives me the insufficient error.
I've installed 3+ apps randomly from the market, and they all are good, just not Google Search.
Thanks doug.

Looks like your friend installed an app which uses ads for its income. These kinda apps create the shortcuts like "Apps 4 Free!"...
By clicking on these apps the developer of the app gets paid. So just remove the app that you installed just before you start seeing this shortcut.
Btw just deleting the shortcut will be enough.

Download Lookout Ad Network Detector from the play store (if the playstore is available for you) to find out what app is making those icons

never mind i accidentally clicked the "menu option" of my galaxy win/quattro and then the setting option popped out.
I know this is an old thread, but I don't think this necessarily works i.e. disabling auto-updates per individual app. I recently rooted an lg g4. As far as i know, I have had auto-update turned off, and as i saw the updates running, I checked the play-store to make sure it was off and even checked a few of the apps to make sure autoupdate was turned off and in every case auto update was turned off. and yet the updates still downloaded and updates ran. I would not even have known if I had not been awake at 3am.
