[Q] Battery not charging on KitKat ROMs - AT&T LG Optimus G

Charges fine on any stock based ROMs, but when I flash a KitKat ROM, it will only charge if I put it in recovery mode. The phone will say it is charging(charging animation on battery icon) but it doesn't. Tried USB charging and 3 different wall chargers and 2 cables.
This has happened on PACman and Houston's ParanoidAndroid 4.3+geeb. Wiped everything before flashing, did everything their instructions told me to.
Any ideas on how to fix this? I've read something about a 1% battery driver and that flashing a kernel might help but I am pretty stupid with kernels. Don't know which would work for these ROMs.
EDIT - Charges fine with Cyanogenmod. That's weird. Oh well, I'll just use this one instead.

[Q] Fascinate Charging/DL Mode Issues

My Fascinate is having problems charging when I'm running anything other than stock. I've tried wiping my data and cache and reinstalling different ROMs but most of the time I can't get it to respond at all.
With CM7 and the latest Glitch kernel for CM7, if my phone dies, it refuses to start on the charger no matter how long it stays there. It does the same with any of the ICS builds out there.
There are points where the phone works perfectly, no problems. Then there are times where I have to Odin back to stock to get the phone to charge again.
Since this is the Q&A forum:
Is anyone having issues with CM7 or any of the ICS ROMs charging?
If so, is there a fix other than going to stock?

[Q] battery not charging, phone is off Problem.

I have a problem regarding the not charging of battery when the phone is off. Ive already checked the chargemon on system/bin file but until now the phone is bootlooping if charged with the phone off. Any suggestions guys? Thanks! BTW My rom is aosp polishblood and xNeo aokp kernel.
Thats because you use that combination, to be more precise, that kernel.
If you use kernel which polish blood guys provided in their thread, offline charging will work.
Thanks! Maybe I'll wait for their update.. I chose that kernel because of the stability of the Battery.

[Q] Tab THINKS I'm charging it via USB no matter what...

I looked everywhere I could for insight into this, but found nothing conclusive.
I am running (see screenshots) the 2013/01/23 build of the AOSP rom found here. I am using the 10-point touchscreen firmware, and the kernel, etc., as shown in the screenshot.
Ever since I "traded up" to this rom, I have not been able to "fast charge" my Nook using the stock AC adapter, as I was once able to running (rooted) stock 1.4.1. No matter what combination of charger, cable, wall-wart, etc., it thinks I'm charging via USB. (See other screenshot - that's AC folks.) I've tried rebooting while it's plugged in, tried two different B&N chargers, a Kindle cable, and another 2-3 micro USB cables. No dice. So it trickle charges all the time. I have to either shut it off or near-sleep everything, and it still takes 4+ hours to fully charge. I miss the 1-2 hour fast charges I used to get.
Would a newer kernel address this? And if so, how do I go about obtaining one? Or does anyone else have any suggestions? I'm stumped.

If I were you I would make an SDC version of the ROM and have stock on your internal. You could charge your nook on the stock os and run your ROM off the SD card.
Does anybody ELSE have any suggestions? Is this an issue that anyone else is seeing on this or any other 4.1.x rom or this or other kernels?

I'd suggest you try a different 4.1 build such as CM10.0 build dated 12/31 by Succulent which is posted at http://iamafanof.wordpress.com/2012/11/18/cm10-0-jellybean-sdcard-img-for-nook-tablet/.
*sigh* Thanks for the suggestion. I think since the charging speed isn't really a deal-breaker for me, and since I'm loath to re-redo all the tweaks I've put into my tab on this rom, I will probably just wait 6-12 months for a phenomenally stable (official CM?) 4.2 rom (or higher??) to come along before I make any more big moves. 1st world problems, amirite? :crying:
Edit: noob question. For the sake of argument, since they are both built on 4.1, would the world explode if I tried dirty-flashing said CM 12/31 over what I'm running now? Would all my apps and other crapola still be there? I.E., would Android just see it as an "upgrade" like the other AOSP builds I have dirty-flashed in the past?
When you dirty-flash a different build (i.e. not wiping /data), your downloaded apps should be intact but some might not work properly with the new build, in which case an option could be to un-install and re-install those apps that ill-behave. With a clean flash, if you use Google Backup/Restore your downloaded apps should be automatically re-downloaded following first boot and Google account setup, but you will have to re-enter your apps personal settings. To preserve the apps and personal settings you can try to use a Backup/Restore app such as Titanium Backup.
So, a potential course of action for you would be to first try out a different build on SD to see if it fixes your charging problem; if the new build does fix your problem then you can proceed to flashing it internally on emmc:
Do a full back up of your current ROM using CWM Recovery's backup feature (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=37515697&postcount=31).
Do a Titanium backup of your apps & settings
Try a dirty flash and see you can get away with it and use Titanium to restore any ill-behaving apps
If the results from previous step are not satisfactory, do a clean flash and use Titanium to restore apps and/or their settings as needed.
If you don't like the new build for any reason, use CWM Recovery's restore feature and the full-backup dataset (that gets created in the first step above) to fully restore your NT to your previous build.
You make it sound so easy. Thanks again. I will give it a go sometime in the next few weeks and report back here.
Try downloading the BatteryCalibration app from the Play Store, charge your device to 100%, and click the button (assuming you're rooted because you're running a custom ROM).

[Q] [SGS2][CM11m7] Spontaneous reboots while on charger

Hey guys,
been reading here a lot. However, I always found help to my problems. Except for this one:
All happened after I finally decided to move over to CM11m7 from Stock and rootet JB4.1.2. I also repartitioned the phone to have 4 GB for apps, which I did in the process of switching to CM. When my phone is plugged into the wall charger, it reboots after some time. I am presented then with the screen to enter my PIN. When I enter it (and leave it connected), then after some time, it will reboot again. This does NOT happen when charging over USB from the computer. Only wall charger affected (tried also two different ones, one being the original that came with the device, the other one from Nexus 4).
Here is what I've done so far:
* Switched off WiFi while on charger
* Switched off GSM/Mobile data while on charger
* Installed Gustavo_s' kernel (21.06.2014)
* Factory reset/wipe cache/wipe dalvik cache
Still, the problem persists. Luckily, the alarm is not affected and still works when PIN is asked for. With rootet stock rom I never experienced anything like this.
Has anyone had this before? Are there somewhere some log files that I could investigate? You help is very much appreciated. I have no idea what else to do. Eventually I would have to switch back to stock, if I cannot get this sorted out (but I love CM!)
EDIT: Maybe some info on my device:
GT-I9100 international version (CSC is from Swiss carrier, however, I used unbranded German stock rom before)
