For the Love God when OUI 2.1 is going to be released ?
Did anyone received it ?
It's included in the firmware on the latest 2100 TS. I extracted the APK with titanium. Not sure if it will work though as it might need other files.

Im interesting too. Thanks, but dont work. "cannot be installed".
Shame, I'll be having a better look at the firmware hopefully over the weekend if family allow. Might be able to come up with something better after that.
OUI 2.1 has nothing ot do with the launcher really. It was the adding of profiles like Watch mode, sports mode and so on in settings.
Seeing that Omate has changed the hardware yet again without telling anybody, don't patch, don't root, don't flash ROMs, don't flash firmware until a dev comes along and fixes it. Sad part is there may be no way short of soft bricking your device to know exactly what 1/8 2100 you have now.

Thank you again Lokifish Marz. I think we have to sit and wait this one out.

I figured a lot of people want this instead of a nandroid backup so here you go. You're all welcome. Be aware that you will need to upload the fixed build.prop (recommended for US users) and change the boot animation (optional). Unpack the zip file and use stock recovery to flash this update.
My OEM version is GAUSB1A120521-US
Password is streakthis
Thanks and donations are much appreciated.

Can this be used on an O2-UK Dell Streak?
If so can we n00b's have a little guide?
Im desperate to get official 2.1, thanks!
Yup, it's from O2 as you can see in the screenshot.
as simple as dropping it on the sd card then?
No special build.prop adjustments? (<--the scary part for me)
Yup, absolutely. You don't have to edit the build.prop since you have O2 anyway. It's only for US users so it will reflect the US paid apps.

Not really, could just root with Universal Androot after flashing it?
I'm waiting for someone else to confirm this is legit though
Universal root works. I've had this update running for a week now.
Wow, really?
Is it worth flashing over the previous 2.1 rom?
I took the leap for everyone and it does indeed install. I have only had it running for a few minutes but it does seem a little faster than the beta. Hard to believe this is the official as there is still no way to use the front facing camera in the camera app unless i am missing something.
What else do you guys want me to check out?
Let me know I'll try it
I currently have the 6941 build. I have the At&t US version streak. If I update to this will this cause me any issues? I'm also rooted.
Mine's rooted and the front camera still can't be used unless i open fring or qik.

Which is why I question if this is the official update. Any reason for you to think it is? Or just guessing?
Any thing else that doesn't work from 1.6 to indicate it may not be official? I only used 1.6 for about 5 minutes so it is hard for me to compare.
its official from 02
Check the screenshot. It's official from O2. How many times do i need to repeat that? I got the notification as well.

There were others at Modaco that got update notifications for the 7546 package but that didn't make it official. I am just asking how you are confirming this is official or what about the about screen makes it official.
And I like I said I upgrade to it and it for sure is an update and seems to be running fine.
On the leaked update there is no trace of any brand support whatsoever. This one had a link to the O2 support site. I had to confirm it from an O2 rep. Yup, it's legit. Funny how they still didn't fix the front facing camera. In 2.2 perhaps? By the way, don't look at my about screen.. I'm talking about the screenshot on my first post.
Hopefully Gingerbread will come in these days for EU customers like me.
The OTA will hopefully bring a new radio that is suitable for (non 4G) Atrix in Europe using Gingerbread. Therefore, I am very interested in getting it.
Unfortunately, there are too many horror stories about bricked devices because of official GB upgrade.
My question is: when my phone will alert me that the OTA is available, how can I "sniff" the download of the update? So I could upload it somewhere and kindly ask developers to create a fruit cake from it!
a little bump to add this: may I be able to see the url by looking at the logcat, maybe? somebody knows if it will work?
download it and choose to install later, then you can pull the file from your phone, cant remember where it goes but should be easy enough to find, might need root explorer as i doubt it goes to your sdcard.
Or just wait for daywalker04 to upload the sbf then you can just extract the relevant imgs from that.
Also sceptical about doing the update but i saw on moto europe they said there were touchscreen improvements so maybe theres an update to the pds partition which removes multitouch bug, that would be awesome!

Thanks, I will send daywalker04 a PM so I can help. Additionally to what you report, I am waiting for the provided radio, that should be designed for GB and European users. With a proper GB radio we will be free to install whatever ROM we decide and (hopefully) have less signal/battery/wifi issues

The OTA comes with the already seen N_01.100.00R. The main difference is that this radio works very well with Euro-Gingerbread. No battery drains, good 3G and WiFi connectivity, excellent GPS signal

Nothing in Europe!! How instal US firmware??
Great!
I'm looking forward to have here a tutorial on how to upgrade from other countries and without losing root )
Thanks guys!
nothing yet for Canada
I'm currently changing my region with Condi's tool. Here's hoping that works to download and crack the update...hrm..
edit: It's now telling me the update is to 3.2
Seems odd. Thinking maybe I should wait until Condi or someone can confirm that this will work alright...

Its correct behaviour. Thats because of sony.ro.build.incremental lowest valu ('1'). You can update (downgrade) to 3.2, then again update to 3.2.1,
and then to 4.03
Or change value to higher to get ICS update.
OR BETTER - wait for me (or other users) and we will give proper,
easy, step by step instructions.
I want to make ICS rom capable to use for every region
br
condi
Thanks for the quick reply Condi!
If that is normal behaviour, I might just carry on, and move through all of the firmwares, keeping them rooted along the way.
Will let you all know how it goes!
If someone can upload US firmware with is tablet.
EDIT : I wait for your tutorial condi ! You have time today?
i have a 16gb 3g italian tablet, if i change the region to us, and upgrade, and the change back the region to italian, will i lose the 3g support?
I'm in India, so I'll let you know if anything shows up over this way.

Nothing for me yet... USA
I see they have added direct access to files on the SD card.
Can anyone convince me of a good reason to wait for a root version? I can't think of anything I really need it for on this, unless someone finds a way to run Sky Go somehow through a hack.
Why cant I access this yet? USA rooted.

Bojanglez, I'm thinking the same as you - the only reason I rooted 3.2 was for the init.d support to run scripts for SD cards. Now that ICS supports that, is there any reason to root?....
Probably, there's always a good reason for it - CPU Master is as good excuse as any!
Anybody know if the Hotspot is disabled in ICS as in Honeycomb?
pretty sick

I can't get the update here in the UK yet anyway, so I will wait and see how it goes here.
If I can get a rooted version as quickly as the official I probably will, but I'm not sure I can resist the temptation just to upgrade if it becomes available before.

Likewise - the temptation to just go for it is great - BUT - we should be aware of the kernel situation (.10) that stopped some users from rooting. Best not to be too hasty, Condi might well present something to keep root. He usually presents something awesome!
Does anyone actually have this yet?
Hi,
Well, I know that this is na old phone, but let's try to fix...
I have a Samsung SGH-T589 (Gravity Smart), originally from T-Mobile, but now unlocked. Since I'm in Brazil, tha 3G connection doesn't work. After some (and for some I mean months) time of research, I figured out that T-Mobile Works on a diferent 3G frequency than brazilian ops. But, I've also figured out that maybe (and just maybe) could be possible fix this by flashing the SGH-T589W (Gravity Smart/Galaxy Q) or SGH-T589R firmware on this phone. There were no problems related until now... but I'm having trouble to find this firmware. Tryied Samfirmware, Sampro, and many others...
Anyone have this file or I should just retire this phone once and forever?
Thanks everyone.

Well, it wouldn't be helped by the t589W because that also uses the weird 1700/2100 AWS bands for 3G service. The R would be the way to go, if it were possible, but even if it did flash successfully, the phone still has a hardware limitation where it just doesn't support other bands, despite what radio/modem you could install.
If you wanna try though, just for the heck of it (at your OWN risk - I do not think this will work. Not likely to hard brick it, but will probably need to restock with the correct firmware if it fails):
http://www.bergfiles.com/i/bf38cacda3hci0#
And you'll want the official firmware flashing Odin version for the phone, because for some reason it doesn't work with the regular Odin ones:

Man... No luck!
My phone only works on EDGE and now I've found why...
This model uses 3G over the 1700/1900 Mhz ... All operators in Brazil works with 3G over 850/2100 Mhz...
So, no luck for me...
Now, I'll try to swap this phone on eBay or something like...
If you know someone who wanna change a phone, please tell me...hehehehe.
Thanks for everything! Now I can sleep in Peace....
Since I haven't seen any other threads on this topic, I figured I'd go ahead and get the ball rolling for anybody interesting in building a custom ROM. As the title suggests, this is a completely deodexed system image for the latest firmware update we recently received.
Just to clarify, this is a (mostly) stock base, and is intended to serve more as a foundation/starting point for anyone looking to build their own ROM.
I took the liberty to update all applications to their newest/current version and preinstalled busybox, which should save everyone a considerable amount of time and data. I also removed about a dozen or so apps that don't serve any beneficial purpose to the phone, but I will still include them in the download link for anybody that wants them for whatever reason.
You will obviously need to be rooted in order to flash this through recovery, so unfortunately if you are one of the unlucky souls that lost it with the update, you'll have to wait for a custom tot to surface before you can flash this.
I've been running this image for the last couple weeks or so and haven't encountered a single issue, but you should still make a backup of your current setup prior to flashing just to play it safe.
Nothing special needs to be done when flashing it, just the standard factory reset along with SuperSU and you should be good to go. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, and hopefully you like it!

Yes, for simplicitys sake I chose to use an image in the zip instead. Not knowing if anybody would even be interested in this, it seemed like the logical route to take. Though you might have found other ROMS that are directory based for our phone, I doubt you've found another that's already predeodexed for you. Its also extremely simple to extract this image into the filesystem that you're looking for, but not the other way around.
