Welcome to Eos! The Eos project originated with the AOSP release of ICS, and was originally founded by Solarnz and co founded by Bigrushdog. Since then, Eos has evolved into a multinational collaborative effort backed by top Android developers. Our objective is to provide a world class AOSP build with unique features and enhancements. Eos is an ongoing development project in which builds are released on a regular basis. Every release should be considered stable and highly functional.
Bigrushdog - Project lead, Chief Developer [Xoom || Galaxy Nexus || HTC One (M7)] || Nexus 7
RaymanFX - Co-leader, AOSP code maintainer [Xperia S || Nexus 7 (2013) || OPPO N1 || OPPO Find7a]
jrior001 - Jenkins/Gerrit Admin, CAF code maintainer [HTC One X]

These builds are designed to be installed from your favorite recovery. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE LATEST 4.4.x COMPATIBLE RECOVERY.
Detailed instructions:
Going to EOS4.4.x from a rom < 4.4.x:
Backup everything !
Go to recovery
Make a full wipe / factory reset
format /system
Flash the rom
Flash optional kernel
Flash gapps
Reboot
Updating from EOS 4.4.x #XX to #YY:
You can usually skip the full wipe step.
If ever you encounter an issue make sure you make a full wipe first before reporting though.
All HTC msm8960 devices use a slightly moddified version of the standard CM built 3.4 linux kernel, many thanks to the boys on our CM team who have made most of this possible on our HTC devices.

Welcome! Just some brief info on the project and philosophy and all that. If you are looking for a project with every feature on the planet, this build is not for you. I write features or bring in a feature from other guys based on a simple idea. I personally must find it fun or useful. Many features I see out there I find to be just plain stupid, and won't be found here. As project leader, I get the privilege of making that assessment. If someone makes a strong argument for something, my opinion can be swayed. If a user says "Hey brd, check this out!", and it is cool, I'll bring it in. If it sucks, I'll pass.
TeamEos took a brief hiatus to work with the CodefireX project. That all ended up going south in a blaze of glory. In the TeamEos repo, you will see reference to cfx code. It's my code, i wrote it. I need to re factor some projects.
I personally run this build on my m7 and love it. Thoughts? Suggestions? Build sucks and you're going back to Omni? It's all good. Let me know. Have fun!
M7 Specifics
-- legacy IR HAL as well as the new one: I'm keeping the old one for now as well until I'm certain most apps use the new one
-- hardware keys - any action: for now, default actions are not clearable. Meaning you can not assign a "no action" against default behavior. This is to keep my sanity but may change if there's strong demand for it.
-- the kernel : Based on the work Intervigil, mdmower, h8rift, and the other CM HTC guys have done. I commend them on a strong and stable kernel base. In addition, we have the following:
-- Fast charge
-- the latest BFQ I/O scheduler as well as SIO and FIOPS
-- we use @showp1984 's thermal controls instead of thermald. Keep the device cold as a ice cube
-- I highly recommend Trickster paid for kernel controls
Great philosophy!
Will try and report

Is notification lockscreen in the rom?

Trying this out with Multi Rom, Will report back.
Edit:
Works with Newest Multirom.
Looks really clean and seems fast.
Just installed and everything is working great! If a custom kernel is used to get custom wake options should it be AOSP or CM based?
Thanks for your great work on a very nice AOSP rom!

Thank you for the kind words. My understanding is the kernel needed is not so much project dependent as it is hardware dependent. Every dev i talk to uses caf_8960 for qcom/display audio and media. It should be safe to say any kernel that would work on cm would work here. Worst case scenario, you get stuck on boot splash. Get back into recovery and just flash rom again. Honestly, the included kernel is rather solid, especially with BFQ enabled. But, if you got a favorite kernel, post up the source link. Maybe there's some goodies we could use.
Now that Gapps are back online I will test the latest build.

We don't do changelogs. Changelogs are for Sense roms. We move too much code. I'll post up if I do something epic, which happens from time to time. In the meantime, watch https://github.com/teameos and http://review.teameos.org/#/q/status:open

Ya were back for good and stronger than ever. I'm focused like a laser on stability, simplicity, and sticking to our core principles. We brought in ffmpeg support. It's stable and works. It appears at this time not all codecs / streams are fully supported. I'll be watching upstream for updates. If things don't move fast enough I'll bring in the codecs myself ;D.
We'll have updater support soon. I'm waiting on fresh api support from our IT provider Codefire (not cfx) In the meantime be sure to grab a nightly from time to time. Lots of good stuff going on.
Those that are interested, I believe using tbalden's kernel should be fine. For my build, I'm staying away from all the s2w stuff. I've found it generally unstable. However, I personally like logo2wake so that may come in.

I'm gonna do more with weather. The framework is very robost and written in a way where we can do weather implementations anywhere we want. The way I work is I kinda cycle around. Few days on navbar stuff, few days on platform, few days working and getting killed on bringing Xoom up ;P ,etc. So next weather cycle, i'm gonna do an additional notification style option, maybe something in recent's window when there's no apps, maybe some widgets. I don't wanna focus too hard on doing things that a weather user app could do. But we'll get the basics covered.
I keep getting fcs for system ui. I suspect it's xposed mod stuff but really not sure. Is anyone one else using xposed with no issues?

Post up a logcat. What mod are you using? I'm running xposed with Statusbar Tint for testing an upcoming feature. I try hard to keep SystemUI theme compliant as well as compatible with everything out there, but things slip through sometimes. A logcat of the fc would be most helpful.

Yes. The way is to post a link to source code. Then if I like the idea I'll build and test. Then it goes up for review and my core team plays with it. If they +1 it comes in.
We can't say something is missing. Because the base is aosp. PA does a lot of "per app" customization. And they write fantastic code. At the same time, those features do consume resources so I'd take it on a case by case basis.

Instructions:
1.download ROM and gapps
2.BACKUP whatever you’re running
3.wipe phone (system, data, cache)
4.install rom + gapps (I always flash ROM twice then flash gapps)
5.reboot and set it up
6.give it another 10 minutes and reboot again
Known Issues:
- I still need to disable HW overlays in developer options.
-AOKP switched theme providers. When boot up, if you get "unfortunately, theme provider has stopped"...
you will need to go to settings>apps>all>theme provider>clear data. This will only have to be done once.
-Call echo on speakerphone: this is a CM bug and it WILL mess up dialing your security code in voicemail...
Call voicemail while not on speakerphone, dial your code, THEN switch to speakerphone to listen.
-Anything you find? Let me know.

Uber kernel by JamieD81:
Jamie's older kernels are in his second post - Uber 3.0 and up are not compatible. They are for 4.3 only.

Fuze-9.01: http://d-h.st/yDF
This kernel is from release 9 of my ROM. Use it to revert from Uber if you need to.
Instructions:
1.download kernel
2.BACKUP whatever you’re running
3.flash kernel - be patient, fix permissions takes awhile
4.wipe dalvik and cache
5.reboot
Issues:
- I had to reset DPI settings in xposed framework. So if you use xposed, all you need to do is go into app settings and re-save all your values.
The settings are still there - just click the save icon to reset them.
One more for something I may be forgetting.

Awesome! Downloading and will report back.
EDIT: Everything seems to be running nicely! Not a single reboot yet. Great work and looking foward to more AOKP goodness.
Sorry for my ignorance, but does AOKP build their own kernel, or do they, too, use the CM source? I ask because I'm not touching anything with a CM kernel for another few months, but if AOKP uses a difference repo, hopefully there won't be RRs every 37.3 seconds.

This is unofficial, that means there is no AOKP kernel source for our device. Explaining how the kernel builds for each ROM is a little lengthy to say the least. This kernel was built inline with the ROM using the latest sources though - which has had some updates over the last couple of weeks.
I had a couple of builds with reboot issues - this one hasn't had any yet. A LOT of testing through multiple builds happened before I even thought about releasing it. Give it a shot you might like it. I love it personally. Lol
And just FYI, since I haven't updated the second post yet... I am working on a custom kernel from Samsung's source for our device, to add more governors and stuff.
This is just the beginning - it is my daily driver and I have a plan to make it better and better as we go. Lol

Awesome - thanks for the offer. I may need it to ease some of dparrothead1's anguish. Lol. I've been running him through the ringer to help me catch stuff.
I have my own repo up, working on a custom kernel. So once I start releasing kernels, an extra pair of eyes would definitely be helpful. The kernel built inline with the framework of the ROM is finally very stable - but no frills.

CodefireX 4.4.3.2.1.000.000 Open Master
CodefireX.com
This well established Android distribution treats development differently than any other to further our Android platform as a whole. This is the fastest source built ROM you will find on this forum, and also the only one to utilize our unique build system and a custom LLVM 3.5 suite based toolchain globally.
*
Here is our very well supported Issue Tracker.
We utilize a plethora of unique optimizations in a build system unlike any other:
Utilizing the LLVM CLANG CI globally, working heavily with upstreams with a goal of furthering our entire Android platform.
Consistently updated upstream toolchain module source with our custom backports, fixes, and optimizations applied in a patch at build time.
Fully built utilizing Link Time Optimization and Polly optimizations (another custom ROM first). Feel free to google these a bit.
Much of our source have code fixes, cleanups, and many minor optimizations to set us even further ahead of the community. These are too generous to even speak of here.
Optimizations are toggled on and off based on device for the best experience we can achieve for your device without sacrificing stability
Many Qcom optimizations and AOSP master (upstream) optimizations and fixes using device specifications to determine usage.
Fully built utilizing strict aliasing and isognu++11 mode.
Utilizing all O4 optimizations (Optimization Level 4) including LTO (with binutils plugins), and additionally LLVM Polly.
Of course we also have several neat UI features, including but not limited to:
T-Mobile Theme Engine.
DPI Wizard (no junk like build.prop tweaks).
Quick Settings panel customizations.
Live network stats in your statusbar.
Button backlight customizations.
Hardware button customizations.
Volume button customizations.
Many more being added during the nightly builds.
*
NOTE: Only "AnyKernel" flashable kernel zips are supported.

Amazing work developers... seems stable enough, still need some time to test battery though... But hats-off to your hardwork and dedication... n yeah bootanimation was awesome !!!
PS: If I might make a feature request, without sounding too demanding, I use my nexus alot for app dev purposes, so ADB Network is a really handy option in CM n couple of other roms too... if not that hard may be you guys can include that ... Cheers ☺

any progress on the BT? after a taste i simply cannot go back to any other ROM knowing the speed and smoothness of this ROM- it is the only thing ive flashed where i haven't felt like just doing everything on my HTC One instead.
thanks for the great work and looking forward to the next build, really mean it.

Many more being added during the nightly builds.

just some information to get you guys up and running.
USE ART! The first time you switch to ART, reboot and ART optimization will take a few minutes. You will likely experience a few fc's when you boot up. Don't worry! That's normal. It seems the ART disassembler often misses some dex the first time around. Reboot again and it will optimize some more. I usually reboot 3 times to get all the dex cleaned out. The only app i've found that fails on ART is GPS Status. Benchmarks are off the charts with ART.
We also include BRD's legacy IR Blaster framework as well as the new IR hal.
Known issues: we have some native library problems with some games and libffmpeg from MX Player. It may be a bionic issue. I'm looking into it. Because of this, I would consider the build experimental at this time.
Ok guys, next build is gonna be sweet! Fixed all the weird lib wonk. MX Player, and all the games that were derped now work. I'm officially no longer calling the build experimental lol. If you guys come across any app fc's or anything weird, let me know, please. Also, please excuse settings, it's still a bit of a construction zone. He have lots' of great stuff coming in. I'd personally like to show credit, respect, and a huge thanks to CyanogenMod for providing such great features like Tiles, Hardware Button mods, and the Tmobile Theme Engine. By allowing the community, and us, to use their source, we are able to focus more on what this project is about. Advancing the Android Platform. Of course, we have some great unique features on the way as well. Stay tuned! We're just getting started!
BTW, I HIGHLY advise running with ART. switch to ART, let it reboot and optimize, and give it one or two more reboots to flush out any lingering dex. Personally, I've never seen my M7 run this fast. Not on any rom, ever.

Does this ROM have slow screen wake/camera/BT streaming issues? I haven't followed AOSP in a while, have been running GPe but do want to switch if those issues have been finally worked out..

Screenshots?
Everybody always want screenshots lol...its aosp people it all looks the same. Think Nexus devices with some extra EOS menus in settings.
Seriously though check out this video a guy in G2 thread did for us. Big things to notice are the built in weather service (Eos original) and the fully customizable Eos exclusive NX gesture bar(Nav bar replacement ). NX bar is some sick java work by our team lead @bigrushdog.

The irony is, I've seen people post a stock picture, and the masses go "ohhhh!! Looks nice!! Downloading!". Just goes to show all people want is a fancy screenshot arrangement, no matter if it is bone stock Android.

I guess we really do need to a add a philosophy section to the OP's....
So what is EOS all about?
We take the latest AOSP RELEASE base, bring in all the expected hardware support you'd expect from any other aosp ROM(mainly from CM) add some features we like, and a few of our own custom features and improvements, and then push the optimization level up a notch or 2 and enjoy the win!
What we are not.
EOS is not a kitchen sink ROM.
There lots of so called features that just aren't heavily used and won't make the cut.
EOS is not another CM clone with its own settings menu.
We strive to keep the basic AOSP feel from first boot. Keep things simple and clean.
Eos is not a big team, just a small handful of guys wasting time playing with code and toys. We do this because we love it and we enjoy the product were pushing.

Try not to install standard Gapps, but one of the other packages that doesn't include Google Camera (after wiping and reinstalling ROM of course). This should take care of your camera issue.
Will give that a try later. Thanks for the quick Reply

You are correct, I had the same problem with CM nightlies as well.
Stick with banks minimal gapps and you won't have these issues. Idk why they insist on packaging launcher and camera apps into gapps packages when you can grab all that off the play store if you want it.

Haha yeah he let me play with it a while before release. I've used CFX ever since it was released for the Inspire. EOS eventually merged with CFX to one project. When CFX was shut down, Team EOS came back with all but one of the CFX crew. It's a really long, complicated story, but I've used their stuff for a while now.
I just never really sign into XDA
I think people all have a little ADD (attention deficit disorder); if a rom isn't blazoned with neon lights and hundreds of pages of useless comments, it gets overlooked.. I am a bit guilty of this as well.. I was waiting to flash this because I wanted to get a full appreciation of "stock" first. I have since flashed multiple roms, but overlooked this one.. I am converting it now to F2FS and will let you know how it works out..
Thanks for the build, I loved EOS on my NS, I am sure this will be even better..
Small bug.. I changed the temperature from Fahrenheit to Celsius on your weather settings and it caused a ui / weather app crash.. I rebooted and all seems fine...
..and the torch is broken..
..also the menu button doesn't seem to work as a menu button, ie it can single tap, double tap, longpress open the camera, but single tap, double tap, long press won't open the menu?? **EDIT** this appears to be an issue with Nova launcher conflicting, I changed settings in Nova and the menu works again..
This is a very minimalistic rom, yet pack tons of needed features.. I am really impressed, everything seems very fluid and it's quite snappy.. Too soon to judge battery, but I doubt there will be any cause for alarm..

Sprint Users! ATTENTION!
I have included Sprint diagnostic apps to allow for prl/profile updates, as well as various other CDMA related configuration. However, these apps do not play 100% nicely with AOSP. Follow these simple steps from @plasmastrike to keep winning.
plasmastrike said:
Right before you run sprintdm "settings-mobile networks-carrier settings" clear the data for the app in either settings-apps-all or titanium backup. It will work after that for a bit. just always clear the data before you update. You will keep your prl update when you do that so sprintdm puts that somewhere else and update device config is not as useful. I think prl is proffered roaming list which is why it is nice.
Sprintdm works with a dirty update and clean install as long as you wipe data in the app prior to running. Thanks for putting it in

AOSP Telephony stack flavor
This build fixes the "unknown caller" bug by providing a pure aosp telephony stack. If you don't care about this bug stick with regular builds. If you are currently running the aosp telephony build, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND STICKING WITH IT OR YOU WILL LIKELY NEED TO WIPE. IF YOU COME FROM REGULAR BUILDS TO THE AOSP TELEPHONY BUILD, YOU WILL ALSO NEED TO WIPE!

Download AOSP Tele build 10/2
Contextual time status bar headers (@omnirom)
Quick charge UI support (look for the "+" in battery icon)

9/14
Don't worry about the date. It's up to date
Allow Viper with selinux enforcing
Platform and manifest bump to r18
Major platform eos vendor and build cleanup, many hidden goblins to exorcise
This should fix the rare device lockup
Some users experienced a lockup when updating apps from Play Store. The cause eluded me for some time but I found it. Only have installed a MAXIMUM of 3 themes installed at once
Probably more...
Download AOSP Tele build 9/7
9/7
Fixed duplicate APN Settings on some CDMA variants (nice find from caf @Mazda)
Audio: Update mixer paths from aosp (credit @DirtyUnicorns for a clean aosp tree)
Update sepolicy for pending WiFi calling (credit @DirtyUnicorns for a clean aosp tree)
ActionHandler: tweak key event handling because @remicks reports fail i can't duplicate but this needed to be done anyways because it's stronger code
CM commit to fix a media wakelock
BRD Labs: put ro.nav.debug=true in build.prop to play, comment it out to stop playing
Download AOSP Tele build 8/31
8/31
Fixed APN Settings.
BRD Labs Pre-release: Colorized logo. Go to Fling settings --> Logo color to change color or reset to see the full glory.
Removed V4A sepolicy commit: This was a accident as it hasn't been merged into mainline. V4A is still a wip anyways it looks like. But good news on the visualizer ;D
Download AOSP Tele build 8/30
The 8/30 build is basically the same as the initial AOSP Tele release. I've added modified selinux policy that is supposed to help V4A in some fashion.

BRD! Its been a while.. Cool to see you here!
It's about time this thread got started. I've been using EOS N6 builds for the last month or so and they are rock solid and everything you would expect from Team EOS & BRD. Hey guys ya it was about time I got a thread going lol. The build is my dd and some of you guys already know it's rock solid. Play with Fling. Turn on pulse. Set a theme. Change some colors. If you guys want something let me know. As long as it's half way sane you'll usually get it. Help me keep the noobz in check. I'll drop test builds from time to time with stuff from BRD Labs ;D I've been around a long time, so I know the game. No drama here, just dope builds. Any creative ideas let me know. I can usually write it. Since TeamEOS is actual real development as in like, we are programmers, we can make things happen. Have fun!

He speaks the truth....... Liquid acer ports and Miui on Evo 4g! classics!!
Sup @riassan! Haha ya man we go back to the REAL old school. Seems I've got a little spunk in me still ;D Damn. If I wasn't hitting the hay I'd cook you a birthday build! Instead, get hooked up, turn on Fling, then turn on Pulse and Lava Lamp and let me know what you think. I gotta turn up the frequency amplitude on these high dpi devices a bit but that should get the birthday party jumping ;D

@BCNice420 was the man! He'd do the weekly miui port on his phone! I'm using the latest minimal banks gapps and it's proper. Not quite sure what you asked but no. I'm the lead guy for Eos. Mostly due to a lack of other hard core java guys. There are guys smarter than me. I just don't let them know it ;p

. Does this have battery and clock mods.
Also I'm on aicp but am not feeling there new anti-piracy code. I'm not starting a debate but what are your thoughts on this in as far as implementing it?. I've read all the posts and you seen like a great team with plenty of experience.
