Confirm that "plugable usb to ethrnet 2.0" is working very well on kitkat tested on .757 update. You must set by terminal emulator ifconfig and gateway, here an example:
ifconfig eth0 10.10.0.111 netmask 255.255.255.0
route add default gw 10.10.0.254 dev eth0
It's incredible! Now i can browse by ethernet!

Hi, for a long time I wanted to install a no-Sense ROM. Therefore yesterday I successfully installed [AOSP 2.1] VanillaEclair 6.0 "Oldschool with some new paint". But not everything is working like I am used to from an original Android 2.1 ROM (of course, therefore it is a custom ROM )
I would like to ask a couple of questions:
1. How do I turn of Data Traffic
(not really necessary cause I have unlimited access but would like to know)
2. How can I start internet sharing with my notebook via USB?
(Am used that it goes automatically after I plugged a cable in and chose Internet sharing option. A connection icon appeared and I was able to start browsing. But in this ROM there is a possibility to tick Internet Tethering in the Settings but no connection appears to be on-going. I tried AndroidTethering app but with no success.)
Thank you for your help. Would be much appreciated.
I already sorted out the first issue with turning on/off a data connection with a widgetsoid widget. But help with second issue would be much appreciated.
Just checked the ROM's thread and it says there may be USB mounting problems with LVX. Try flashing FlyKernel13 and see if that fixes your tethering problems
My best friend is the creator of that rom. Well like he says it the breaker and the fixer. I got no idea if native USB tethering on it works I am now running 6.1 and I will test it for ya
---------- Post added at 11:07 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:02 PM ----------
Ok it isnt... Think this is a fault cuss it is using the not native kernel that came with VE4. But that is just an idea I was planning to try something out later anyways so But that will come when I am in the mood to do so.
VE5. gonna try and see what works in there and see what I can build from that.

No, tethering won't work with lx without tweaking something in the system on ve. It should work with fly

Hi, thanks for your effort. I originally wanted to place this question into a ROM thread in the Development section, but I wasn't allowed to place a comment due to my juniorship
Back to the topic: Now I moved back to the VillainRom13 cause I needed tethering. I am planning to try out 6.1 when I have more time (maybe tonight) and will see if it works by itself (what I doubt). Please let me know if the tethering thing works for you and if yes, try to explain what is necessary to do to get it workings. Thanks in advance.

I flashed FlyKernel13 right after the ROM install so it isn't the problem. But thanks anyway.
Any ideas? Did someone try an internet tethering via usb on VanillaEclair 6.1?

Does not work on that rom. I am now building my own version of a rom, with I hope support for the 2 feature you said, well at least 1 off the 2 will be in there.
Anyone Got This Working?
I followed the instructions in the app description. When I try to connect my tablet reboots. I did not see anything in the log that looks interesting, i.e. it reboots before it writes to the log...

I am using Cisco Any Connect on my rooted LTE Galaxy and works just fine. You need to make sure that on your Cisco back end that you have the mobility license. If you don't have that, then you will never connect.
Also make sure you are using the Cisco Any Connect for Rooted devices not the Samsung one.

Hi all,
I followed the Tutorial at https://developer.ubuntu.com/en/scopes/tutorials/developing-scopes-go/ until the last step. But how can I install the resulting arm binary on my phone?
Sent from my awesome Ubuntu Touch device using the Forum Browser app
Use the SDK's device kits feature.

---------- Post added at 11:07 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:05 PM ----------
Oh, I just saw you're developing a Go scope.
Use
Code:
click build <directory>
to build a click package, adb push it to your device and install it using
Code:
pkcon install-local name.click
.
Thanks for your reply. I found some usefull scripts, which helped me to get a click-package on my phone.

Hi!
No need to sending your watch to someone, you can sideload an OTA zip file thru command line in a computer,
Lets see, what is your watch build number (go to settings > about)
yes there a app in this forum to update and recover under windows soo yes no problems here, then youll can use it on iphone.

My build version is KKV51. I've tried to do it myself, but couldn't get it recognized via USB. I'm willing to try again.

Hi All, I have searched high and low but this is such an old device many of the links I follow are no longer working.
I want to install the latest version of Kodi possible on this device which seems to require 4.4.2 I am currently on CM7 olympus 4.1.2
I need HDMI output, Wifi, and BT would be a nice to have but not essential. Don't need any proper phone features. Any advice on what works and still is downloadable?
My best guess base on searching is Olympus_kitkat_finalv2 but it was not clear to me if the original HDMI issues had been solved.
Any advice is appreciated.

You are correct that most of the files are not available. HDMI has been an issue for a while. Uncortunately it is not working on the version you mention. The last time i had it working was on pre-development leaked 4.0.4. It might have been working on the beanstalk rom, but i don't remember. That would have been equal to the version you have now though
I think you mean cm10, not cm7, since 4.1.2 was a cm10 release.
If you're willing to operate without HDMI, then the 4.4.4 will work.

Really appreciate the reply. Very helpful. You are correct I am on CM10 so will look elsewhere for a solution as HDMI is the main component I want to utilize.
Thanks again and be well.

If you want hdmi output and fingerprint scanner support, you will remain on 2.3.6. There is no support of both at 4.0, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, or 4.4 (5.0 and up not tried by me, but is based on android 4.4 kernel (3.1)). I understand your desire, but its not happening.
