I'm looking for some BT earbuds that I can wear while I'm mowing my yard but I'd like some that have the ear plug type material on the buds that you squeeze, then put in your ears and they expand a little, rather than just rubber so that they will block out the sound of the mower. Any suggestions?

You should go invest in an electric mower made by Black & Decker, its very quiet enough to cup cake with ya girl while mowing the lawn... I can mow the lawn at 2am and not wake a soul with the right lighting of course.
AND then go find a pair LG Tone+ and change the ear buds to the type your talking about... You will thank me for both.

Thanks, I'm actually looking at the LG Tone+, the only thing that concerns me is I see a lot of people complaining about choppy music playback.
As far as an electric mower I recently looked at those but it won't last long enough on a charge to mow my yard. It takes 3 to 3.5 hours on a rider plus1 hour with a push mower. Our yard is huge. Thank you for the suggestions.
Jaybird bluebuds 8hrs battery life.
LG Tone or Tone+ with foam tips. Or Sony SBH50 with any headset plug in that you prefer.

LG Tone+...I have the 700's and they're great. I replaced the earbuds with comply's. I got the 400tx I think but I'd have to look. I replace all the earbuds with comply's. Those are the foam earbuds and I get the one's that keep the ear wax out of the holes.
@airmaxx23... Never had any choppy music playback, ever. As a matter of fact. I got everyone in the office wearing them. Dang headphones are the best. AND LOL at that yard size.... sounds more like a farm. I used to have a yard that took 2 hours with a rusty push mower. Hated doing the yard.

Thanks again, I picked some up and really like them a lot. I almost wish it was a farm, it would be a lot easier to mow, I'd have fewer trees and rocks to go around.

Just so you know... the people rolling around with choppy music probably have the fakes or knock-off versions. I seen someone with really bad replicas, told me they were the 760s... i lol'd.

Glad you like your purchase. The actual ear buds are JBLs... the head set is LG. I thought they were gonna be weird for exercise and work and etc. Nope... comfy on the collar and easy on the ear. Best part is they use apt-x... so they sound great no need to use any third party equalizer.

Unfortunately most electronics that are popular are duplicated, often sold via ebay, websites, swapmeets, farmer markets, and out the back of people's trucks. I have learned this is not limited to electronics but also accessories, purses, wallets, clothes, and etc. My first Spigen case was a fake sview case I found at the swap meet for $20... if I would have known I was getting a fake I would have just went online and spent $5 online for it.
Once I bought a pair of Japanese brand headphones off ebay. They sounded absolutely heavenly for about a week. One day I put them on, the band snapped in half with ease. I was shocked. Since they had a 5 year warrenty... I RMA'd them... the JP company sent my email to the USA office which in turn messaged me. Told me they didn't have an EBAY seller that was legit. They sent me a brand new pair for free... with a return label for the fakes and details of who i bought them from. YEP. Turns out they had one of their parts companies in china making the rest of the headset and selling them on ebay at 20% the retail cost.
Long story short don't trust everyone selling "name brand" items. In the case of your friend... he could have auth LG Tone+ headphones with a bad board in them or bad speaker. Who knows. He could using a pair of fakes and doesn't know what bliss he is missing out on.

Alright so I had a pair of motorola s9s for about 3 weeks before sweating on them at the gym broke them.
Does anyone know of any decent bluetooth headphones that are reliable (battery doesn'd die after a month etc. etc.) that work well with the G1?
I have the first generation Motorola bluetooth stereo headphones, the HT820. I originally purchased them back in 2007 to use with my t-mobile MDA (HTC Wizard), and they worked well then and they continue to work now. They are much bigger than anything Motorola has out now, but they do work. I currently have Cyanogen's ROM on my G1 and they did work with the original cupcake ROM from T-Mobile. These headphones also have a built in mic so you can take phone calls.
Hope this helps.
I recently purchased the Samsung SBH500 headphones. I have only had them for a few weeks so I cannot tell you long term reliability but I have really enjoyed using them. I have taken them on a run a few times and have had no trouble yet. I have read a few reviews of people complaining that they are unconfortable and ears get hot when working out with them. I have not experienced either. I have found these more comfortable than other around-the-neck sets. The ear padding is a little thick but it sort of muffles the ambient noise. I have found the audio quality for music and calls both outstanding. I would recommend these if you were looking for over the ear headphones.
You should try contacting Motorola about your s9s. When researching BT headphones, I seem to remember reading that Motorola knows that this is an issue. Perhaps they will swap these out for you. Good Luck!
S9-HD
I thought the S9's are supposed to be sweat resistant. I have a S9-HD and they seem to be holding up fine. I've been using them on runs and bike rides for a couple months now. I do admit though that not much sweat gets to them cuz most of my sweat evaporates as I run. When I stop moving, I start pouring sweat, which is when the headphones get hit the hardest. They're still working great.
I haven't tried the jaybird bluetooth headphones. They're supposedly water and sweat resistant. They sound like they're the bomb. I'm tempted to get a set. Here's a link for more info:
http://www.jaybirdgear.com/bluetooth-stereo-headphones-features.php
Hey guys thanks for all the replies!
I actually just ordered a pair of samsung sbh170's (if i remember correctly) they didn't have to many complaints besides being to small.
If they don't work i will definetly be checking out the sbh500's they look really nice, and i might get a pair for non gym use too. ( I never knew internet radio at work could be so addictive.)
I checked out the jaybirds before i bought the samsungs that should be coming in a couple days. They had mixed reviews on amazon, just like the s9's, and cost around $100-$120 so i think i'm gonna keep my distance from those, I'm a college student lol.
As for the s9's I didn't have the HD's, I had the older versions, which were apparently less sweat resistant than the new ones. I took them appart and it looks like the main circuit board got covered in sweat (there is discoloration).
I had initially thought it was the battery, but that would be hard to replace. The battery in them is a no name most likely chinese peice of crap, if anyone else is having a problem with the battery you may be able to retrofit a rechargable AAA batery in ( i played around with a voltmeter and the old battery appeared to be 1.5V's) but that would take a little bit of time and patients, I only paid 30 bucks for them, and used them pretty consistently for a month (pretty much every day at the gym too.)
If I had paid $100 at best buy then I would be more upset. I really liked the form factor on them and they were really nice to use at the gym, which is what upset me most about them breaking, its hard going back to wired headphones lol
I've broken two sets, 1 LG and the other I think was a Jabra set. They had both broken around the earpiece in almost the same place because of the plastic they used. While I didnt have any other issues with them, they only lasted about 3 or 4 weeks each.
I went with the s9's for the firm form also... I just made sure to wipe my head and the headset every so often and completely take them off when im cooling down. I will be implementing some fancy vinyl aka electrical tape on them soon to help from getting sepage into the control panels.
The sbh170's look good cause they are more flexible but the 500's look to be almost the same design of the two sets that I had. If I can find the LG set i'll snap a pic and show you what I mean.
i got the sony dr-bt101 headphones about a month ago and they work great. the only thing is they're a little big and over the ear not behind the neck..

My s9's died yesterday... I mean DIED, they wont chrage no matter what
As much as I hate to go back to wired devices I really like the options the ones you picked up give. Small and simple with good support (body wide clip).
So please post when you can
I Have a question for you guys. I want a headset that I can listen to music with while wearing it on only one ear, so not headphones but a headset that has the A2DP and AVRCP. IF you guys know about one let me know because that way I can listen to music at work and look like im actually working hard.
http://www.jaybirdgear.com/bluetooth-stereo-headphones-features.php I have these but the audio goes in and out on my G1 and even worst on my laptop.
Get the Plantronics 855. The second earpiece is removable, and without it looks just like the HFP-only 815 but still plays at A2DP quality.

OK so they showed up today. I have them charging at work and will give them a go when I run tonight. I'll post results either tonight or tomorrow morning.
update: Well I can't get them to pair. They paired up fine with my nokia N95, but android is having trouble. If I could get it to let me enter the passcode 0000 manually, I am sure it would work. Any ideas?
update2: OK so I got them paired, finally, but they dont seem to be working. I got them connected but theres no sound coming through them. They do work well with my n95 however so that's even more frustrating. Sound quality is OK, but I am going to try and return them. Any questions before I do?
i sweat a whole lot and have yet to find any wireless that can stand up to the abuse. i bought the adapter from HTC that includes a mic and 3.5 adapter. 10 bucks from t mobile.
while it still has wires it hasnt fallen victim to the sweat. FML in Alabama during the summer.
What is a good earbud headset that doesn't cost a fortune, meaning less than $25 or so. Wired is what i'm looking for as i'm not big on BT headsets. I don't need anything ultra high quality, just something that works well. I'd also like for it to have a inline mic. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I've looked at so many my head spins. It's hard to tell what's good or not and you can't always go by price. Figured someone would have a set that they really liked over the others.
I just get the stock ones that came with my captivate, they sound good and are durable, don't hurt your ears.
Amazon has them for about six bucks. Just search for captivate or infuse earbuds they are black with opaque white buds and inline mic.

The OP said he needs them under $25. So for the price, Skullcandies are excellent.
They meet his needs. other than the JVC Marshmallows, they are the best sounding pair for the PRICE RANGE in my opinion.
On another note, I was interested in the S4As. I read a review
on amazon for them that the controls don't work with the Sprint galaxy S II and I was afraid that the same would be true for the AT&T variant. Do you own them? can you deny or comfirm?
I have the S4i's as I came from an iPhone to the galaxy. the mic and controls don't work with the phone (aside from the pause and play button.) wanted to get the 4A's but being that there's now a 5i and that I wanna try wireless I personally am looking for a stereo bluetooth option.

This is the quandry i've run into. There's literally hundreds of choices and some are known to be bad and some aren't. I'm just trying to find a good set for a good price that WORK, haha.

I use these all day long at work. The control button works as expected with the players I've used (music app, Pandora, Beyondpod, Audible).
I use my phones for music more than anything. For the past couple years I've used a countless number of earbuds. (Gym, bike, motorcycle, work, bus)
Klipsch S4s are the best bang for the buck by far. I bought mine at Best Buy and opted for the 2 year warranty. Taking the phone in and out of my pocket a lot tends to wear the cord at the connector. Their worth the investment.

For sure, tons of knock offs on eBay. I got the S-9's but don't use them as much as I used too. They pair well and can be a decent distance from the phone and still pick up signal. If you have a large melon, they may be a bit tight and uncomfy though.

The difference between the knockoffs and the legit ones is the buttons. My S9 has super sensitive buttons, you can just lightly press it and it will stop, skip tracks etc. The knockoffs you have to physically press the buttons firmly. It worked but felt very uncomfortable mashing a button while something is in your ear. My coworker swooped up the knock offs for like $25 on ebay. Also mine came with a Blue Tooth adapter for an ipod, works excellent.
Is there a specific reason you want in ear headphones?
Id say pick up a set of over the ear bluetooth headsets. I had a set of motorola s805's they were good. also had a set of jaybird sb2's which were sick.

I have a pair of the S9 and S10 Motorola headphones. I bought the S10s as an 'upgrade' but that turned out to not be the case, unfortunately. They weren't as loud and the sound just didn't seem as 'full'. Really the only positive thing about them is that they NEVER cut out on me, and had much better range. My S9s are more comfortable, louder, sound better, but they did cut out at certain angles(probably because I mainly used them with my phone in my pocket instead of on an arm band as recommended).
I just got a pair of the JayBird Freedom headphones for Christmas and they are definitely the best way to go and worth the extra money. The sound and fit is probably as good as you can possibly get with bluetooth in-ear headphones, and of course they have the sweat-proof warranty. I would recommend getting the JayBird's over EVERYTHING else, especially if you're using them for running and working out, as I do. You won't regret it!
Thanks everyone ive been reading more about those jaybirds and there looking like the ones im gona go with. How are they as far as staying in your ear while running?

They stay in your ear better than anything else on the market, hands down. The hype is very well-deserved. They won't even budge while running... Plus they come with a pretty nice carry case.
Look at the LG hbs-700 on Www.newegg com. Great price and I love them. If you watch, you can catch them on sale. Read the reviews.

Good to see others who support Jaybird. Everyone always asks about my SB2's and with my endorphins most people don't even realize i have um in.
Do the jaybirds come with a standard charger or just a USB chord? Also if they do come with just a USB chord are we able to use the same adapter on our htc evo 3d chargers bc i dont have a computer any more just 3 galaxy 10.1 tabs

It's not the same cord but it is a usb to some small connection. You can plug it into any 5 volt source like pc or HTC's plug.
I have those headphones use it for soccer practice, gym, and work. I have had no problem with them at all the only thing not a major issue for me I had to take off the red pads on the inside since my sweat was un-gluing them. I jump and run with them with no problem in fact its the opposite from slipping out I have to take them off for a second because it pushes in me ears at times.
I got a pair of S9HD a year ago and they shorted out, I called Motorola and RMA'd them, a week later I had brand new S10HD in my hands. Like the S9HD these things are not the most comfortable things in the world and do not mesh well with sunglasses unless you flip them over and wear them R in left ear L in right. I have no problems with pairing and the battery life seems really good, better than the S9HD for sure.
Would I recommend to buy? no, there are other products on the market that work and fit just as well or better for much cheaper.
Ok, here's the deal. I have some power beats phones that I used with my Galaxy S2, and the mic and center play/pause button worked great. I bought a Note and the mic doesn't work. (Damnit) So I bought the Phillips SHS8105A. Well these don't stay deep enough in the ear canal when running with any of the buds to here the bass good. So then I bought the Klipsch S4A earbuds. I ran like 10 steps and the left bud fell out, SMH. So these will not be my solution either. I would love to just use my problem free power beats, so I guess I'm wondering if the problem is software or hardware based. Works on the S2 but not the Note? Could it just be a file missing that enables it? If it didn't work on a phone from the same company it wouldn't be driving me crazy, Lol. Any opinions, help is welcome
I use dell bluetooth

I use some Dell BH200 Over the ear Bluetooth head set
You can no longer find these on the dell web page.
you have to enter sales chat and tell them that you want to buy refurbished dell BH200 DPN:WR562 Refurbished: TX131 they work Great for me and i can answer the phone with them and the battery life is about 4 days.
What i really like is the Deep base that they produce. price is around $32 with shipping.

Hope this helps.
I use MEElectronics M6-CL sport from Amazon only 20 bucks. This includes many different ear pieces for a tight comfortable fit and a case to hold everything. They sound great, and they stay in your ears when your running. I run about six miles a week no problems with the head phones.

I was wondering how you gym rats/joggers carry your G3 during workouts. I was looking into armbands on Amazon but looking through the available brands.
It seems they're all made of poor quality and the companies have awful-mediocre feedback on other products.
Do any of you guys have something to recommend? I just want something where the device is safe, won't bother me as I lift/run, and won't let sweat get through to the phone.
Cheers.

I've had the Note 2 for about 2 years now. Not exactly the easiest phone to carry while jogging or during deadlifts at the gym. When I had my S3, i had an armband, but even that was a little too big. I would use the headphones that came with the Note 2 through the shirt like most people i see doing at the gym and it really wasn't working. So I bought bluetooth headphones.
After looking around and passing on some other headsets, I bought the LG TONES HBS-730
http://www.amazon.com/LG-Electronics-HBS-730-Bluetooth-Headset/dp/B009A5204K
I just set my phone down or keep it in my pocket while at the gym. It's just a lot easier to not have to worry about wires anymore. It's still a pain to have to carry it while jogging, but much easier than before. The headphones tend to bounce on my neck a bit, but don't come out of my ears at any point. I even use them on my motorcycle and they work great. I've answered calls from my gf while riding and she didn't even know i was using the Tones.
I highly recommend them.
I leave my phone in my gym bag and use a Sony mw-600 with different ear buds.
I'm not a fan of arm bands, and I don't expect the G3 to be particularly comfortable especially given its size. For lifting I much prefer using bluetooth headphones so the phone and any cables are out of the way.
Edit: By the way I recently got the Jabra Revo Wireless. Quoted at 12 hours of listening/talk time, which is amazing. And the nice thing is it includes a cable so if you run out of juice you can just plug it in and listen like a normal pair of headphones. Good for lifting, but I don't think they would stay put for running.
plantronics backbeat go 2 are awesome, And they will last you a whole 4 hours at 80% volume.

I ordered that one and it is arriving today. The company's other products seem to have solid reviews.
I considered BT headphones but I never see any with really solid reviews. I have UE TripleFi 10i that I ordered new rubber inserts for and am going to see how I like them with the band, generally I love the sound from them but my foam inserts get shot fast with running.

Nice, post a review when you get it and give it a try for a few sessions.
I'm looking into BT earbuds or headphones but just about everything have mixed reviews.

Will do, and thus my problem with them Jaybird is usually solid but people I know who own BT headphones, especially buds, say the sound quality loss isn't worth the price to get rid of a short cable

No argument there. So far I only use these for lifting. I had a set of Meelectronics Airfi AF71s (bluetooth earphones) that actually sounded really good, but they used non-standard ear tips (i.e. comply foam tips are a no-go) and they didn't fit very well so for runs I just stick with cabled earphones.

Never heard of those. I guess for just lifting cans would be okay, I still use my UE's.
One of my favorite tech reviewers.
12:20 he begins giving his review after using them in the gym.
They look nice imo, might order in a few weeks but I'd prefer earbuds for now. Can't really picture myself running with headphones on. I'd be worried that they may come off and fall lol

So my armband came in today and I wore it around town with my RAZR MAXX and might ear it to the gym tonight. It is definitely nice build quality IMO and for $7 I think it was a great buy.
I will test it more and report back
I'm using jaybirds bluebudz x and they're very very good. You can use comply with them.
Quality and volume are decent, battery life is good. I run and cycle in them.
