App for voice writing? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, i don't know if i am in the right place, i'm searching an app for my voice notes, translating into text with specific language, i mean... I'm doctor, and in my work i can't touch the phone in particulary situations, so, i want if i speak.. for example "weak up phone" "record that note" "I see neurovascular infection" "end, turn off screen", my phone do that! Anybody knows an application can do that? Thanks!!!
P.D. sry for my english!! i'm trying to learn

Hhmm let's see. You CAN try to use svoice. "Hi galaxy" . "Record voice" or tell it to read you the messages. In all honesty tho svoice isn't that good. Maybe an app from the play store

Hmmm. You could use a combination of Open Mic and Google Now?
Open Mic will allow you to say "Okay Google" from anywhere (and even with the screen off during charging and so on), and then you can voice search stuff on Google from there.
Google Now can also open apps so you can open apps as well voice free, then use Open Mic to go back to Google Now completely hands free (in theory).
Its not the best solution but its a possibility?

With Google now you can set reminders just say 'OK google' 'set reminder.. I see neurovascular infection' and it will set a reminder for you.

I have setting up as English(us), whatever I say, the result always is "mmm"
I have try recording voice at Webos, it is OK, but not working at android !
Have you tried voice search on another device? Reason I ask is last year I had issues with voice search returning jibberish when I used it, problem was with the voice data they collected getting screwed up online. If voice search fails on another device that's most likely the cause. You can clear the data in your Google account.
i think i might have misunderstood you. I use the actual google voice app for texting and I can search fine. there is another app call Voice Search which is completely different.
In any case, Voice Search app does not recognize that I say.

Good to hear that I am not alone !
have you try using "Sound Recorder" app from Alpha 3, It is not working for me as well, the sound record got abnormal playback. the sound record only work on WebOS ! Sad.....
Google voice search from the market does not work for me either, but.... the mic button on smart keyboard pro does work. It works pretty good, especially if you talk directly into the top of the touchpad where the mic is. Just thought I'd let you guys know. FWIW the voice recording app ALSO works for me. it sounds a bit muffled, but it does record and playback legibly.

[Q] Help with s-voice

Okay, so my s-voice won't do anything? I say "call mom home" it prints the words I front of me & does nothing? Same thing when I give it a math problem, launch an app, or anything at all? Do I need a replacement or am I doing something wrong? I actually use voice commands alot!
Ok go to settings, application manager, on the top click all find S-voice hit it the click clear data. Hit thanks if this helps!

Clearing data worked & factory reset has worked once alsw, but I don't know why it keeps happening?
Samsung really needs to get their act together with S-Voice. Their software development on this was rushed, and it shows. S-Voice often stops working and requires clearing the App data, and even when it works, the app's inability to understand variation in syntax makes it far more limited than Apple's Siri.
I also notice that when I do a Google search using S-Voice, the web search is done through a Samsung sponsored adsense account, so it's evident that S-Voice is mainly an attempt by Samsung to monetize their users' google searches rather than an earnest effort to improve user experience.
The Galaxy S3 is great phone overall, but I hope Samsung comes out with an S-Voice update that will do this phone justice. Meanwhile, I'd love to be able to replace the double-click home button with Google Search instead of S-Voice.
However, at least I can access vanilla Google search quickly with a long-hold on the capacitive menu button.
I haven't had a problem with it yet. It sometimes gets mixed up and doesn't know what I say.

Lol I was having problems with S-Voice on my International SGS III understanding my words until I changed it from "English UK" to "English US" very odd indeed...
I'm running SVoice on my SGS2 with no problems and it's not even for our phone.
I wonder why you guys are having issues with it?
Powered by the SGSII
only problem i've had is while driving it will pick up the road noise and not end the voice command entry automatically, also if there is too much road noise the app will not audibly alert as it stops if it hears any sound
While not too surprised by it, the performance while driving leaves S-Voice worthless to me. If my window is down, I pretty much can't use it.
Also, I tried using it to launch Waze... it prints the correct name, but then says it can't find the app. I have yet to get it to open a non-default app.

I agree 100%! I use voice commands a lot, and mostly in the car is when I use them. That's the only time you ever NEED hands free control over the phone, and yet it's almost worthless in the car! I have to roll up the windows, close the sunroof, and if the AC is on you can for get it, lol. I think I'm gonna try the original vlingo app I've always used, because I know they are behind svoices software, but it worked better when I downloaded it to replace the Samsung tinkered vlingo on my s2. It could possibly be that the mic on the gs3 is very sensitive though? None the less, every phone has some apps that I don't care for.

Chang the voice in S Voice

Is there a way to change the voice in s voice? Maybe to one that's a little more smooth like the one in google now?

yes... there's a way to change it. I'm currently waiting on a new phone to be sent to me so i'm not sure exactly what settings you need to goto to change it but it definitely can be done. Maybe try settings when you have S-Voice open?
I believe its in settings>language, you can change the tts from google to samsung, and it sounds less robotic and a little better, but in my opinion s voice is next to useless. There is a free app called Dragon Now I downloaded from the play store which works a little better for searching stuff... Its not a s voice replacement or anything, just better at searching for "stuff" and yes you can have both installed at the same time and choose which one to launch when you double tap the home key
Well I have IRIS will kills SIRI and S Voice buts its that same generic voice, actually its more robotic then S Voice.

Launching app by dialing a number

is there any way I can launch an app by dialing a number???
I have search in the Board and on google for almost 4 hours but found nothing useful....
Mi idea was Save a contact with a number in the Contacts app.
The when the Phone is connected over bluetooth in my car i can simply dial that number or saved contact and google voice search starts.
does anyone know a way ??
Sorry don't get what you're trying to do

'Tasker' would be my guess. But how you would get it to work, I really don't know.
Sent from the App that Time Forgot.
Interesting idea but you can acheive the same result with other apps.
Try Android Assistant speaktoit(Speak to it). She is a better Siri. She can launch apps, read email, update your Facebook, make search on the internet. I think it can do what you want to do. (If I understand correctly)
Not sure about the normal S3 but the s-voice on the lte version will do what you're asking, and more (like send messages etc)

My ida is that i can start google voice search by dialing a number in the dialer.
Why i want it to do.
My merc car has bluetooth and it works well but there is no way to start googlevoice or any other voice application without taking it out of my poket and aktivate it manualy.
As an example if i could start aplications by dialing a number.
Than i could dial in the car interface 111 and google voice search wold start without i have to take the phone in my hand or out of my pocket
Interesting idea, but seems like a hassle if you can use s-voice instead.
Get a card dock and NFC tags, will make accessing your cellphone easier. Don't text and drive.

Jes but with the dualer Solution you could use it without touching the phone.
It doesn't mater if s-voice or google voice search you can't activate non of them over car integrated Bluetooth.
You always have tu put out your phone and press something.
I was searching for a solution without the need of using the phone directly

If you start the assistant before you put your phone on the car BT you can tell her to call any number, start any application etc... No need to touch any button. You can even have a conversation with her(she's funny)

Look it up, she's one of my favorite app.

But.. What good does the phone do in the pocket? What hidden apps do you want to start in the pocket? Put your phone in a phoneholder on the instrument like everyone else? And you can tell svoice what to do with "wake up command"

A Voice Dailer That Actually Works?

I've tried VLingo, Google, several others. All have problems:
1. Terrible with matching Contact name; usally unbelievable off.
2. Many require touching the screen to advance.
Just lookting for something that works, prefereably without a data connection needed, activated by a simple long push on BT earpiece. Free not required.
Rooted, JB installed.

I've had good luck with the the built in Google voice dialer since ICS...vlingo was my go to before that. I think there is a dragon one available in the market but I haven't tried it.

I can't seem to find a clear answer, but doesn't Google Voice require having a Google Voice account with various phones listed and it automatically switches, etc? I would rather not get involved in that.
Tried Google Voice Dialer and it was terrible!
Took out all other voice dialer apps and tried the built-in JP Google Voice. I gave it ten names to dial; it got all ten wrong. Then I tried the same name five times; it got it wrong for four different guesses. It is closer to a random phone number generator than a voice dialer. But it did fine when dictating numbers, but that's not really what I want. I'll keep looking; there has to be something better than this.

I just switched off WiFi and Data and used google now. I said "call Home" and that's exactly what it displayed. Then it prompted me if I wanted to cancel, or skip ahead and call. There was also a red bar at the bottom that was progressing indicating that it would call my home number if no action indicated I wanted otherwise. Perfectly reasonable.

That's Google Voice, a different product than Google's Voice Search. Since 4.x, it has some great offline performance but it always pulls web results, as someone mentioned.
Try out Nuance / Dragon's newer app. Hopefully, that doesn't stream every word you dictate to a corporation that believes they can do whatever they want with it (like Swype's EULA).
