I have recently rooted my samsung galaxy star gt s5282. I don't know anything about it. I want to learn all those things which probabily know common peoples. For my mistake, my mobile started misbehaving/malfunction, freezing many times and os stucks too. Yesterday I bought my galaxy star from samsung care. And I have rooted my phone again. Today I uninstalled all google apps and freezing many apps which I rearly used. I have luckey patcher, rom manager pro, ram toolbox pro, busybox pro, 360safe for farewall etc etc. I have tried alot to change bootanimation, but I can't.!! And also I don't know how to flash and create drive partitions. But I've done my nandroid backup. I don't want to lose my phone again. That's why I come to this genious community & I need a big help from you guyz...
Which is better and what can I do for my Galaxy Star GT 5285.??? Please let me out from this troubles. I'm just waiting......THANK YOU
i'm just wait for other users to post their list of rooted apps they use, talk about custom roms.. bla bla bla.. it might be a long list.. happy reading.. :silly:
there are endless possibilites after you have rooted you android phone..
you just don't have to be afraid to explore them... and don't blame the guy who said this to you when you brick your phone O_O
by the way congrats for sucessful rooting..

Choose any of this ROM and flash it!! instead of freezing and uninstalling bloatware flash the ROM you want! and all of your problems can be solve by flashing!!

First thing you should do is install CWM recovery and make a nandroid backup.
You can find CWM post in the forum.
After you've created the backup feel free to use any app or any mod.
If you want to learn more about the after rooting hacks and tricks then use google. The web is full of such articles.

I have a star a3 which I've had for about a week, I am having trouble getting market place to work and also getting rid of the chinese apps. I have read the threads and even posted in another thread but I have not got any help. I have rooted the phone but the qqmobile security is not allowing me full access to superuser and I cannot install apps. Does anyone maybe a back up of the original software but minus the chinese apps with market place ready to go. I'm on 2.3.5

I don't have a copy of the ROM, but i can help you out with a copy of google play and root explorer. Using root explorer you should be able to delete the security app along with all the other Chinese applications (I do have a list of whats safe to delete too)
I bought 12 of these phones, from 2 different suppliers and none of them had this qqsecurity which you are talking about so I am not sure exactly what it does or how to get rid of it. But I can point you to a 2.3.5 ROM for the star A3 that is also minus all the crapware you don't need if you want to go down that route of re-flashing the whole phone.
I would like to have this ROM. How can I find it?

Yea ive also got a star a3 and i cant root in the first place so how did you do it if i know it would be alot of help
As for marketplace try going into manage applications and see if there is google play + google play services if not thats ur problem and also one more thing my a3 was bought last year and it is 2.3.4 and it will not let me update on my friends phone you cam check for updates but here it just says up to date and since there is no pc app for it i just cant update

When I restart my phone, Some apps (no matter where are they from (play, amazon, etc.)) They stop working.. they dont work anymore.. and I will have to re install the apps again and loss all data
And also some apps that still work, they start like its the first time I am starting them and all data in them are lost..
Pleaaaase someone help me in this.. this is frustrating!!!

Custom roms for note 2? I woulf hate that.. lossing S pen many features, lossing multiwindow and many other featurez..I dont want that..

Hi Guys , im new here. I tried to install a custom rom today (Ultimate Alfa Rom 4.2) and did not work.
The phone stands at the Galaxy Y (before the samsung logo) and then does not continue.
I wonder how to fix it urgently, because I'm too afraid of losing my phone. My father did not ever buy another.

i recently had my phone stolen so due to financial restrictions ive been forced to go back to my galaxy ace i have finnaly got it rooted i think ive updated superuser via playstore and i dont know what to do next .basicly the only reason ive rooted is to increase the internal memory and possibly clock speed a little .now im not a tech minded person and havent got a clue what im doing so any help would be appreciated

Hello!
1. Flash TouchWiz-Resurrection ROM (in S5830i development forum) - instructions in main thread. It will revamp your phone, so you will feel it like SAMMY JB.
2. For performance, stay with stock kernel. For features use Rafael.Baugis, ThunderKernel, Cyanus, etc.
3. Configure your phone, to the best state (delete apps, that are useless for you [it's much personal thing], add useful, and move these apps to system.
4. Wipe data/factory reset again.
5. Ready!
It's way, in which I'm always going.

What i did was went to play store and searched "root required". lots of stuff came up that made my phone cool. I would recommend flashing gingerkat rom, it has been really good. my battery life has increased. i used to only get a day out of it, now i am getting more than 24 hours, this is with a little bit of use during the day, this is obviously with the help of cpu tuner. not sure if i helped, if i did please hit thanks.
