Glass screen-protector users, do you get ghost touches? - Sony Xperia Z Ultra

Even with my matte screen protector, I get ghost touches when a little of my finger sweat/dirt is on the screen. Does this occur with the thicker tempered glass screen protectors as well?

I have a normal screen protector (HD as they call it) and yeah i have that problem. The touch is just too sensitive

I had that problem on the normal one too so i switched to the thicker antiglare one....still getting it! Thinking of switching over to the even thicker glass screen protector

This is actually because of the pencil/pen input i think. I can live with it though. Doesn't bug me too much. Might get better with further updates, who knows right?

If you are rooted you can change the screen sensitivity, you will have to search for the thread though, either in the ZU or Z1 sections

Lose screen

Anyone else notice that when tapping the top half the screen it feels like it's slight loose? I just activated it an hour ago :-\

Shake it it does the same sound.. I thought it was the screen but I'm thinking it's the lens in the camera clicking around.
I just posted about this in another thread but now I'm curious are only some phones doing this or is it just the way the phone is. It doesn't seem like a big a deal but for a $600 phone I would expect it not to rattle when I touch it
No noise or rattling on my phone..

No noise here neither but I notice that bottom of the screen is collecting dust and if I look closed enough I can see a gap between the screen and the bezel I wonder if tmobile would replaced my unit

try re-activating it. Also try a factory reset, should solve your loose screen problem.

Sony stylus ES22 and screen protectors

I prefer to use a screen protector on my Smartphones. But with the Z Ultra when using a Brando protector I was surprised that my new Sony ES22 stylus did not work well at all. The sensitivity seems to be reduced. Would be good to hear about your experience with stylus input for hand written input. Thanks in advance.

Good suggestion. Pencil input works as normal so the issue may be with the stylus. Strange.
Edit - changed screen protector and input sensitivity improved so perhaps the stylus is designed to be used without a screen protector.

Proximity Sensor

It seems as if my sensor had broken. There's no way to wake the screen during phone calls, and when they end I have to pull the battery because other wise the screen just stays black. I'd just like to disable it altogether, any help?

This seems to be a common problem. I had this. I fixed it the first time by re calibrating the sensor and doing all of these stupid things with the terminal. The second time I figured out that all that has to be done is blow some compressed air into the earpiece for 10-30 seconds. Then it's fixed.

Seems to me that I'm the only one that compressed air doesn't work for

Do you have a case on your phone? Mine was doing the same thing and the air wasn't the cure it was the case. It didn't actually cover it or touch the sensor but it was close enough to it that it screws it up. Just an idea.. Take the case off...

Tempered glass 0.3mm thick is a perfect thickness

Sent from my SM-G900T using XDA Free mobile app
Is this a good thickness in tempered glass for a screen protector? Thanks

I like how your title is a statement while your post is a question.
I would say it's alright. Really depends on what you're looking for, price, protection, etc
How good are these things compared to a plastic screen protector(invisible shield, extreme guard, etc) ?
Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk
Tempered glass is much more clearer and feels smooth when scrolling. With plastic I've noticed it's almost sticky to the touch and hard to even scroll. And glass is way clearer

[Q] EC21 and Screen Protector

I'm planning to buy one, 16GB Wifi model.
Is it shipped with screen protector?
I've removed the cable(EC21) from the magnetic charging dock(DK31) of Xperia Z1 and use it as a regular charger. Will it fit on the Z3TC?
TIA.

Thanks! May I rephrase my first. When I received my Z1, a screen protector was already attached. Confirmed it was genuine. So as do the Z3TC?
No fitted screen protector came with mine UK 32gb black
