Navigation bar customization - Sony Xperia Z Ultra

Hey guys, I'm trying to customize my Nav bar with specific icons. But when the keyboard pops up, my custom icon for the back arrow changes into a down arrow to dismiss the keyboard. Once the keyboard is dismissed, it reverts to the stock back arrow. I was just wondering if there was any way to stop this from happening?
I'm currently running PAC ROM 4.4.2 beta 1 from Monday may 19 with the standard kernel it comes with. I know its not just a problem from this version, as I've always had it in every previous version of PAC, and have finally given up trying to troubleshoot it on my own lol
Any help is GREATLY appreciated

On stock ROM for GPe I used xblast module for xposed framework to change navigation bar from icons to text and never had an issue.

Thanks for the recommendation. I downloaded it and tried but it wouldn't let me pick specific icons. I appreciate it though!

Did you install the framework and check the box for the module?

Lol yes. Used xposed installer to download the xblast module, check marked it in xposed, rebooted phone and tried it. It has some preset themes and an option to choose a custom zip. I don't have a custom zip to use, and didn't see an option to set specific icons for specific buttons

Sorry....just checking. I had to restore back to stock but will set it back up shortly and test, maybe something I forgot.

You don't have to go through all that for me, man. I was just wondering if anyone knew off hand what I could do

Oh no I was planning on doing it anyways. Trying out Nexus Navbar module now it let's you choose up to five soft keys, rearrange their order and has maybe a dozen themes.

That sounds good, I just want specific icons to match the theme of my phone. I really appreciate you checking it out for me

Off topic.
I totally removed the navigation bar and just use gestures ( gmd gestures ) for navigation... U will get addicted.

That was what I thought too until I got my Note 2.
Now, it is almost completely useless and I have the paid version.
Phew, glad I was lurking the forums, I was literally about to buy the paid version. I recommend emailing the developer with whatever doesn't work and specify your device, he'll probably fix whatever's broken.

I definitely wouldn't waste the money until it works correctly with the N2.
As it stands now the vast majority of its many functions don't work at all with our phones.
Also multi boot animations work as well. You can pick com your sd card or download right from rom toolbox. I now have a different boot ani every time I reboot my phone. There is a setting for random also.

[Request] Working Floating Multi-Window

Is there a flashable zip for floating multi-windows on VZW GN2? I searched and found a couple of threads but they seemed somewhat complicated and quite buggy. I had this feature on my GS3 with Synergyrom and loved it, I'm sure it would be even nicer on the bigger screen. Sorry if there is a simple answer that I overlooked.
Here is a simple way of getting floating multi Window. I know of no other mods at this time.

Is it because it's built into the rom that it works so well on Synergy for the GS3? If so is it something that can be done for GN2? I ask because I don't fully understand what can just be flashed and what has to be built in to the framework of the rom to make it work properly.

Ihave the same problem, but I deal with the three shortcuts instead of five. Then I use an spp to control jist the lockscreen rotation. Im my opinion, the benefits far outweigh losing two shortcuts.
You can also change the dpi if you want all of your shortcuts as lpng as you can deal with smaller icons.

[Q] Transparent Status Bar on Lock Screen or Removed ???

Hello everyone... As the title says, I am looking to get rid of the black bar or make it transparent on the lock screen... I have tried a few thing and can not seem to get it... Is there any other method to try besides these here???...
1. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1629653
2. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401
3. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2209937
4. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2029712
Currently using Links #1 and #2 for the transparent bar, but does not work for the lock screen... I have attached 3 pics as to what happens when I use Link #3 for the status bar, although everything else seems to work... Link #4 does not work at all... I flashed the zip and once I reboot it stays on the splash screen... So I pulled the battery and used my back up to get it to boot again... Is there any way to get the Simplistic Framework to function with our Verizon Note 2 ( SCH-I605) ??? But most importantly eliminate this status bar on the lock screen or make transparent... Thank you for any help you can provide...:fingers-crossed:
So no one has any suggestions or know of something that works??? I am still looking and came across this link...
----- > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37466852
I flashed the zip that is there and it did nothing for me... If I was a little more daring I would try the apk tool that he used... Would any one here like to try and make that zip work for the Verizon Note 2???

If you are on a TW ROM it won't work, it states in the first few lines of the OP it is only for AOSP Roms.
Also I believe the Xposed framework has an add on that allows what you're wanting.

OK, from what I've found you need to install the Xposed framework and then install the Tweakbox, the only problem is the tweakbox I've found is for ICS. It may or may not work. That was the way I found to do it in the thread. I will keep looking because there is still one that I remember reading that I haven't found.
Here is a blog link that says it works for ICS and JB so hopefully it will work, this one explains it with pictures so it should be easy to do:

Well that suck ass bad, it is supposed to remove it from both from what I understood but apparently it does not work. There were posts in that thread that said it didn't work either but there were some that said it did.
If I were you I would back everything up, via nandroid and back your apps up with Tibu, and flash Goodness. There may be other Roms that have it but the only one I know for certain that has it, without going and looking, is Goodness. There most likely won't be a mod made for stock if it hasn't already happened.
When we get official 4.2.2 then maybe, I believe the S4 comes with it stock so if we get the update soon ours most likely will too.

Come to goodness and we will try our damndest to get that worked out for you and the rest of the users. Might take a bit, but we got one hell of a team over here. Just posted another rom for the vzw n2 also.
I asked about this before, and I've done some searching on the subject.
This method works, but only if you use live wallpapers.
Install one of the many home screen status bar transparency mods, then change the home+lockscreen wallpaper to any live wallpaper.
Voila!
I don't know how or why this works, but it does.
The only downside is, as soon as you stop using a live wallpaper, the status bar on the lock screen won't be transparent anymore.

Yes in deed you are correct... I guess I should of mentioned that earlier in my post... The thing with that is you can see the difference in the transparency... I am very particular in how I like things to look... I would much rather it be gone.. But thank you for pointing that out...
Let's hope some one takes this challenge before N3 comes out...
This thread is pretty old but I too was searching how to make that black bar go away. I am on the 4.3 stock rooted and xposed. I found a way to do this within 20 minutes of searching.
Install the Tinted status bar module for Xposed
2) open systemui.apk
3) select all activities and slide the bars all the way to the left for the navigation bar tint settings!
Enjoy!!

How to theme your Tablet!

Hi,
I noticed that there ain't any themes for this tablet so here is an easy way to theme your tablet.
And of course you will need to be rooted to do this.
Also use common sense when messing around the modules. If you end up in boot loops from wrongly setting up the modules then there is always a Xposed disabler zip file in the root of our sdcard that you will have to flash in recovery to remove the bootloops.
First Install Xposed app.
Second Install xTheme Engine.
Here is a collection of xThemes i have collected and uploaded in one place to easier access them.
Fourth if you want to further mod you Tablet then try the modules here.
The Xposed Framework and xTheme Engine works on all roms. The themes will only do basic theming so do not expect to move mountains with it.
Happy Theming
I was wondering if you had any pics of the specific themes. Would help a lot to see which ones would suit my taste.

Please if you guys can do the same and upload your screen shots of the themes you try then you will help out the community.

I am a bit disappointed or maybe I did something wrong? I tried royal theme and miui sony theme and the only thing that changed was wifi icons and some stuff in the notification are. If anyone knows some full themes that would be great. Screenshots attached, first two are royal elegance and the last one is sony miui. I only took screen shots of what was themed because nothing else changed for me

So you want your stock themes to work?

So after owning g2 on att..we had same issue. Please disregard if its been posted. If you didn't know already here you go. This does not require root.
1. Go to the market. Download Launcher Pro
2. Don't open it. We're using it for a huge benefit it's always left a back door open for us devs..
3. Press on empty home screen to bring up widgets.
4. Scroll to find the activities in form of launcher pro icon
5. Press on It once It will bring up a huge hidden menu..
6. Scroll down to Home
7. Press home and scroll down to hidden menu themes provider (or the first hidden menu themes etc you see)
8. Press it once.
If you did this in the correct order it will bring a nice sweet blue icon on your home screen ..you can put it in a folder but keep it. Press on it to now have your theme picker.
9. Google LG world apk..download It and now enjoy your themes etc..
I hope this made you smile.
Peace.

Any chance for problems if rooted and modified with g3 tweaksbox? I was going to apply a theme, but don't want issues from the changes I made with xposed.

Gave it a shot and yes it does work with exposed. No issues yet.
If I remember right, it's the first "Theme" that shows up in that menu. It's not what the OP called it.
Yeah I have it installed already. I just didn't want to install a theme and mess something up.

Lg has themes available similar to like what Miui has but nowhere near as good. Most are pretty lame actually... probably why they dropped them from US varients, but there's a work around.
This topic should have probably been placed in the Themes and Apps forum, but here is some more detailed info on the subject.

I've tried a few. One for the g2 locked my phone up hard and made it totally unresponsive. Theme did stick after a battery pull and was fair at best. It was interesting to play around with for a bit but like i said, most are pretty weak.

Correction duly noted. Thank you. I posted off top of my head. I thought it said what I posted. But important thing is the process is quite painless.

I also add this is for version of sprint that does have the theme apk or home themes hidden. I don't know why. But this does not require root and is for stock Rom. Or out of box fix. Yes it can be moved to themes and apps if mods feel I've posted in error. Again just trying to help keep this sprint version level with the experience of the rest. The stock themes do suck. But the option is also great to have. Peace. And thank you all for your help.

Hope my post didn't come across as snotty. It wasn't my intent if it did ? and thanks for getting this over to the Sprint forums.
I agree, it's a cool option to have. This type of stuff is always fun to tinker with.
