New to themer and i can't find anything in a search to help me swap out an icon in my dock. Looks like the dock is set up using Everything Widget. I deleted the icon and wanted to add a new one but my options were limited. Can anyone link me to some good threads to walk me through this process? Struggling to find anything on my own.
The theme is Nightscape.
Thanks for sharing such a great information its really informative and intersting . i m looking forward to see more update like that Thanks once again.

Hi,
Some themes use fonts instead of icons to make porting the theme to other phones. Nightscape is one of those themes that use a widget instead of icons. To change an 'icon', try this:
1. Long press on the widget - Advanced - Unlock Widgets.
2. Long press on the widget again - Configure.
3. Use the blue slider on the left to drag the configuration box up.
4. Select an icon, such as the chat bubble - Text - Set Text.
5. Change it to another letter (use this link for reference: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2704935) - tap back.
6. Text - Hotspot - Change it accordingly - tap back - exit the widget - Lock Widgets into place.
You're welcome to add in bitmap images instead of the font method, but these fonts produce the highest quality as well as many other useful applications. For more info check out our video tutorials, especially the Music one: http://bit.ly/ThemerVideos. If you need any more help just let us know!

Thanks! Worked like a charm.

At the request of a number of you, here's a little tutorial explaining how I made the theme below, I called abstract theme (do not ask me why ...)
(Note that I am not the inventor of this type of theme, I am inspired by many themes I have seen on other forums, I thank very much the creators of wallpapers I used (I never remind theyre names except EG Fox, sorry for that))
1/ So, to start, install Launcherpro (you can also take the "plus" but paying)
(for those who are using ADW, a trick is done at the end of the tutorial)
2/ Adjust the settings you prefer (this is only the parameters related to the theme I present now, but there are other possible parameters):
- Number of pages, the default page, the number of columns, the number of lines (to position your shortcuts, personally I have 8 columns and 8 rows) => Menu / Settings / Homescreen Settings
- Number of dock (the dock is the Quick Launch bar that is located right in landscape mode, you have 5 possible shortcuts in one dock and it is possible to have up to 3 docks (to slide up or down on the dock) => Menu / Preferences / Dock Settings (you can also specify, if you choose to put shortcuts telephone, email and sms on the dock, if you want to be displayed a count of unread events)
- The bottom of the Dock (in the theme as an example, I have no background) => Menu / Preferences / Appearance Settings / Dock Background / None (if you want to put a custom dock by you or found on the net, then you must choose "Custom" and pick the dock from your SD card)
3/ Choose your screen and resize it at 800x480. So that the bottom is not distorted, use Multipicture Live Wallpaper which allows you to set a different wallpaper per page (if desired). Multipicture Live Wallpaperr is managed as an animated wallpaper
The bottom will not be distorted but the 36 Pxls top will be hidden by the notification bar.
4/ Then you need to know, based on the number of rows and columns you have chosen, where you must place your text on the wallpaper. To do so, complete page fully of shortcuts. Then made a screenshot, I recommend the excellent ScreenShot
5/ On your PC, using your editing software (photoshop, photofiltre ... etc.) you can have your wallpaper nude and the screen as it will be on your Streak with the location where applications will be.
So place your text on your nude background by ensuring that these areas are easily covered by applications..
Your wallpaper is ready !
6/ Now install Desktop Visualizer, which allows you to put shortcuts transparent (especially)
(For those who could not find it on the Market : http://www.partage-facile.com/GYV6DGY6CW/jp.co.bii.android.app.dskvzr.apk.html )
7/ Desktop Visualizer works as a widget : long press on background / add a widget and choose desktop visualizer (it has different sizes, choose the one that best fits the space you have planned for your shortcut)
DV lets you choose the icon of the application to launch, get the transparent icon on your SD card (if you do not have a transparent icon, here's one : http://www.partage-facile.com/0GJIEOUAO0/transparent.png.html )
Then select the application you want to start.
Delete the text of the application and confirm (you can change or remove the highlighting that appears when you press the link to the application you're using, otherwise it will be orange)
8/ Once you've validated, you see nothing changed on the screen, it is normal because you have placed a transparent icon ! The link will always be placed to the top left corner of your home. Make a mong press along the top left, your widget will be highlighted by launcherpro.
You may notice a kind of tab in the lower right corner of your shortcut, by pressing and holding down while moving your finger, you can resize your widget as you like.
So give the desired size for your shortcut and press "back", the highlight disappears. Now made a long press on the top left of the streak and held down, move your widget transparent to the place you want on your home. (To verify that it is well positioned, have a long support for and release to highlight it)
Do this for each shortcut you provided on your screen.
9/ The last step is the Dock. You've already put in the dock transparent, but it remains the shortcuts on the dock that are visible.
Make a long press on shortcuts, you can either change an icon (change icon/custom icon) or change the shortcut and put any you want and you can still choose the transparent icon before finalizing this shortcut.
Then, I think I pretty much said it all. To summarize, here is my wallpaper ith some details :
This is obviously a simple example that you described above some customization capabilities. Unleash your imagination and make us great themes!
I hope I was clear about (and sorry for my english), do not hesitate if you have questions or additions
Some other example of themes done with this method :
My latest :
I compiled my wallpapers and you can download them (empty and modified) here (updated with the 3 latest) : http://www.partage-facile.com/O87TRUWWBJ/compil_theme.zip.html
For you guys who wants to use these themes but on ADW Launcher, if you have any problem with Multipicture Live Wallpaper, you can try Wallstreak instead of multipicture live.
Wallstreak is not available on the market, but you can get it from this link
http://forum.pocketables.net/showthread.php?p=55644
Thank you to ramtix for this trick
Thats a easy to follow tutorial
& your english is 100 times better than my french so no need for you to apologise
Many Thanks
Nice tutorial easy to follow Big Thanks
Well done lestat89
Thanks!
Cant wait to start playing around with these when I get home next week
can i ask a favor can you pls upload the wallpaper on the 3rd picture i really love it...thanks testat89...greats work btw
Thank you for your comments
@skyscraper04, I had a link to download my wallpapers at the end of the first post
thanks a bunch
Cant open the zip file for wallpapers.
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
I don't understand why you can't. I did some tests and I never had any problem to open the .zip (on my PC)
Did you try it on your Streak or on your PC ?
Anybody else with this problem ?
Nice work mate...love it
very creative way to get a whole new look. Nice idea!
Thank you
But the idea is not from me. I was inspired by themes I saw on other forum.
For information, I updated the .zip at the end of the 1st thread with my latest wallpapers
dude..tried to use one of your attachment as wallpaper, but everytime it asks the picture to be cropped. How do I go around this? I want the whole picture to appear on the screen
I'm not sure I've well understood your problem, but I use Multipicture live Wallpaper who allow me to have one wallpaper per page.
Is it your question ? (sorry, my english is limited)
Hi Lestat, I sorted it out. I wasnt using MultiPicture Live and I use ADW Launcher.
For you guys who wants to use Lestat's theme but on ADW Launcher, try Wallstreak instead of multipicture live.
Wallstreak is not available on the market, but you can get it from this link
http://forum.pocketables.net/showthread.php?p=55644
Thank you for the information. I added your trick at the end of the tutorial
actually I also tried multipicture live on ADW and it works perfect..better than wallstreak, more options of customization..so guys, try it. Now my desktop is uncluttered and looks better..awesome work lestat! Hope you continue this work and more wallpapers to come ;-)
Cool, thanks for the new ideas !
In your fourth example screenshot How did you get gmail, sms and phone missed calls working like that? I thought that only worked on the dock.
Hello guys,
Looking at the number of people asking for a Metro UI look Guide i have decided to make this,This is my First ever guide,So if i go wrong somewhere go easy on me
Necessary Softwares Required
1) ADW Launcher
2)Desktop Visualizer
3)Multipicture Live Wallpaper
4)Minimalistic Text
Step 1: ADW Launher
* Install ADW launcher
* Go to ADW settings -> UI Presets -> main dock-> disable main dock
* Screen Preference-> Desktop Columns =9
Rows=5 ( you can give rows and columns number like you please, this just adjusts the widgets size )
*Under Advanced settings in screen preference - Enable Overlap Widgets
* You might Notice an Annoying blue line on top of the screen (to Remove it)
-long press on the screen and Select Launcher Actions
-Add Show/Hide Status Bar.then add it to screen click it.blue line disappears and Delete the show/hide status bar you have added.
*Disable Wallpaper Scrolling.
Okay now you are done ADW launcher for now! Good job! Now lets procees to the next step .
Step 2: Multilivewallpaper
*Long press on main screen -> wallpaper->live wallpaper -> you can select individual wallpapers for each screen(this is left to you)
* So after selecting wallpapers, you can change the transtition effect and stuff to your taste!
Step 3: Desktop VisualizeR
*Download the Icons pack i have attached and extract it in you tab.
*On Main Screen ->Long Press->Widgets->Desktop visualizer-> Choose 2x1 or 2x2 which ever you like (1x1 is also fine) .
*You will notice a widget will be added on your screen -> click it-> now it asks you to choose an icon -> select an icon from the icon pack you have extracted(consider you are making " books" widget.so select books image icon)
*Next it will ask for an Action to be executed -> select launch an app-> Ebook app(moon reader or whatever you use)
*Clear the Text Label Which will be below .
* Press ok and you are done
***REPEAT Step 3 every time you want to add an widget .
Step 4: Minimalistic Text(if you get confused ,i would recommend you to see some youtube videos on how to configue minimalistic text)
* long press on the screen ->minimalistic text widget->2*1 Size
*Untick show background
*Horizontal block ->left
*vertical Block->Center
*predefined layout->custom
now click custom layout which would be enabled down
*now you will see some boxes .long press them and drag and drop on the bin (its like removing an icon from the homescreen)
*After Removing everything ->select the green plus sign to add button->misc->static text(drag and drop on top i,e left to the green plus button)
*click on static text->give text "start"
Style->accented
*done press minus->press ok
*Now go to Accented it will be few rows below custom layout
*you can select the text style which u want.(i myself used size 50 ,thats all i did not make any more changes)
*Check "disable Action on tap" .Check this one
*press ok and your done
Step 4:
* you will be able to see the minimalistic widget you created ,drag and keep at one side.
*long press->launcher action->open app drawer
*now long press the open app drawer icon you created. Delete the text you see now click on the icon->select picture->select the transparent picture i provided.
*now place this "invisible icon on top left corner*
Now what our intention is we want to overlap the start text we created from minimalistic text and invisible icon ,so that when we click start ,app drawer should open. now bring in the start widget on same row ,notice u will not be able to place widget on top of each other so just place it by its side, then long press on start widget and edit then resize the widget so that it overlaps on the invisible app drawer widget.
Step 5: HD widgets
I used this app for the Clock and Weather widgets
End Product should look like the Screenshot i have Attached.
Thank you.
Hi dear friend...
Good guide you wrote, I didn't vote because I didn't read it all...
Can you please put the required APPs on this thread, so that it will be all together? If they're free, of course...
Thanks...

Thank you for your comment.most of the apps which i have used are basic ones which come Pre-loaded in any ROM and HD widgets is a paid app i cannot put that one here.if u want something else feel free to ask.
I guess this not new at all, but did not found it as a suggestion in the forum.
When i select to change an icon it would be nice to be able to select from an icon pack.
General support for icon packs would be nice too.
you mean to change an icon ? just download the icons you want,or make them, add them to your phone, then when you click it to edit you should see your icons folder via the gallery

You are able to manually change icons on the homescreen by holding down on the icon - edit - and select an icon pack from there. Icon packs such as Nox work well, as well as other ones by KovDev. We are working on including full icon pack support soon

Thx for the reply. I did try with just one icon pack (Flatcons White) to see if its working, but no icon pack shows up as an available option when trying to edit the icon. This is why i posted the suggestion in the first place. I will try with more packs.
Thx a lot for your time and effort on this great product!
Its still look like wallpaper mounted in the device , please bring us a huge update:highfive:
step by step
find the icons you want to use and copy them to your device,ie gallery
on the main screen press the icon you want to change until the edit box pops up,when it does press edit
the next box will have a pic of the icon at the top and the icon text underneath, press the icon
in the next box you should see a popup with your gallery in,press the gallery icon and find the icon you want to use.
hope this helps a bit have done a few screenies to show

What @alldroid said is very good.
I also recommend looking at Jeppe Foldager's Copy.com icon pack folder. They all image files so you can find them easily in your gallery.
Here is the link: https://www.copy.com/s/DxsaXLatvBGf/Share/Icons
Perhaps i was not clear. I know the procedure to change the icon. I just tried with Flatcons White icon pack and there was not option to select an icon from the library, so i thought this was not possible at all (copying icons one by one is not very practical)
I then tried Umbra icon pack and it worked fine (meaning i see it as an option to pick an icon from). So i guess some icon packs work with themer and some not
The one i mentioned before (Flatcons white) for some reason it does not work with Themer (works with nova, widgetlocker etc...), so i jumped into wrong conclusions. I wonder though why its not working
Thx a lot for your time again
cool
THANKS

When I try to add a zoomed widget in the same area as my weather widget, the weather widget was pushed off the screen and I can't get it back. Sure I can just try to make a new one but it's still running somewhere off the screen. Is there a way to list all widgets you have on screen? And delete them in that list? Or from a list default them to center of screen? I know the themer widgets can stack so why are they moving on their own? This is especially true if I try to edit a theme I download. As soon as I press configure or resize or add something the theme goes ape **** and everything just moves. Not using a custom dpi. Stock Rom galaxy note 3.

Hi vitessex,
We're not too sure how this happens, as testing it now reveals that a widget cannot push another one off the screen. However in your unlucky case, we suggest going into Themer's main settings - Advanced - Desktop - enable Allow overlapping Widgets. This should then just cause the widgets to overlap instead of jumping around.
Which downloaded themes are causing this? Most new themes should have the overlapping widget setting enabled to prevent this issue.

It seems to do it with all the themes I have downloaded. And even happened on the one I am making myself. But currently I will show an example with the theme "Coordinate." The overlapping Widgets option is enabled and this is what happens when I add a widget or edit in any way really.

I see. There might have been a bug during installation. Try this:
1. Uninstall Themer.
2. Delete the /sdcard/MyColorScreen/ folder (removing the Exported folder within it if you saved any themes).
3. Reinstall Themer.
Let me know how this goes.

Hi,
Those icons aren't really icons, but rather text used in the Zooper Widget. To change these icons, as well as their associated shortcuts, try this:
1. Long press on the homescreen - Advanced - Unlock Widgets (come back here to lock them back into place at the end).
2. Long press on the top widget - Configure - Layout.
3. Now as you can see, there are many Rich Text Module with letters underneath, those are the 'icons'. For example, 'a' is the clock icon.
4. To change the icon/text, tap a module (e.g. 'a'), scroll to Edit Text Manually, and replace 'a' with another letter. Here is a reference to all the icons: http://dl-1.va.us.xda-developers.co....pdf?key=chMx6D8HCwHmdWscEnOsag&ts=1400226165
5. Once you've changed the icon, tap back, then select Module OnTap. Change it to the shortcut/app that you prefer (you can swipe between tabs).
6. Once you're happy, exit everything, and use the same method to the other widgets if necessary.
7. Lock the widgets back into place (Step 1).
It looks like a lot of effort, but it gets much easier with practice. For more information on editing themes, see our tutorial videos here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPXmDjRU7Q9daVeQYX78PNrUp0BAc9AIn
