Hello guys,
I am using CM11 build 7 latest update. I am experiencing a issue in it.
i am using Interactive governor and Row I/O. but my processor's speed not going down below 800Mhz. its always on 1Ghz-800Mhz. even i set 200Mhz as its minimum speed. tried to enable Powersaver governor but its still does not goes below 800mhz. please help.
battery backup also affected by this. sorry for my bad English.
Edited
yup, got the issue solved by changing the governor to OndemandAX

just wondering, there's so much talk about overclocking CPU.
why no discussion on overclocking for GPU? is it possible?
i think if the higher GPU clockspeed improve performance even more than CPU clock speed, doesn't it?
if i understand correctly, galaxy nexus GPU is the same as galaxy S1. but with much higher clock speed. So the GPU speed can be made higher right?
Some kernel, as Siyah allows you (with extweaks) to overclock gpu up to 400 mhz, but I think this is useless, no app need more than 200-267 mhz.
A good idea can be downclock gpu and cpu frequency and decrease voltages to save battery.

Oic....thanks for the info,
what is the default gpu speed of S2?

I think (coz i saw this about a week ago haha)there are two GPU states low 200Mhz and High 267Mhz..
Please, anyone correct me if I'm wrong..

Gpu steps are 3. According to information provided by extweaks default frequency values are 160, 267, 267, but you can set as you want.
setting cpu gpu
hi you could try here for more info

That is the "Performace" setting of siyah(160, 267, 267). Or maybe it is the default but siyah considers it as a performance setting

I am S-On running Shrike's PAC cm10 rom with his latest Erhmagad kernel set to lionheart governer and ROW i/o scheduler. My min CPU frequency is 192 MHz and my max is 1404 MHz but im still only getting decent battery life.
What are the optimal CPU settings for someone who uses their phone primarly for text messaging, youtube, emails, browsing the web, etc. I don't really do much power gaming. I heard on some thread that there is no power usage difference between 192 and 384 MHz is this true?
im using funky kernel 2.2 and im also interested in what are some good settings to start out with...

I have found 384 to be better than 192. At least on my phone.
Does lion heart run better then snartass v2?

The difference is almost negligible, and at 384MHz, things can finish up their work faster and get back to deep sleep faster. In general though, like so many other things it depends a lot on your individual usage pattern.

They're very different in how they work so it's hard to even do a direct comparison. smartassV2 is based on the interactive governor and does a lot of "fast-peaking" where it jumps to high frequencies more quickly and more often. Lionheart is conservative based, so it moves through the individual frequencies more smoothly, but it doesn't increase as quickly. I've tested smartassV2 in my kernel, but haven't pushed it in an official update yet, because I haven't gotten it tuned to a point where I'm happy with it. For my use, I've found lionheart to be quite smooth and pretty easy on battery.
If you want some comparison, dancedance is probably the closest thing to lionheart in Funky Kernel, but dancedance scales a bit different and has some different sleep routines, so it acts a little different under light load.
I've read that pegasusq should be aware of multi-core CPUs and should be able to deactivate not-needed cores.
But, on SGS2 a lot of people keeps using ondemand. Even CM keeps ondemand as default scheduler.
Is ondemand still better option as maybe it is better to run one core at 200MHz using ondemand then one core at 500MHz using pegasusq... ?

This could be helpful.
Please search next time as I just typed "ondemand vs pegasusq" into the search bar.

thx for pointing out, but in that thread I've just found things that I already mentioned: pegasusq is made for multi-cores and it has integrated hotplug.
unfortunately, I had no chance to find any real-world use comparison of pegasusq and ondemand (or other schedulers) regarding power consumption nor responsiveness.

pegasusq in my opinion is the better governor to use, largely because it can tell if is more than one core and respond accordingly. Pair that with CPU Sleeper Dual Core and you're golden as far as power saving awareness. SIO I hear is the best i/o scheduler to use for power consumption, deadline in my opinion is the best for pure performance however be careful because If you do overload and a process misses a deadline it will hiccup or even freeze.
Hey
After I rooted (and reflashed) my Z5C, I noticed that the battery was draining very quickly. Then I found out that it had been running on max frequency w/ the performance governor. So I wanted to ask if anyone knows the default/stock frequency, governor and scheduler? And for some reason it sets itself to performance and on the highest frequency so I have to set it manually apparently...
Kernel auditor can possibly help
Hi Guys,
Little question. Have somebody experience how much you can underclocking the CPU?
I asking because I want to save battery and I don't need the 2,5 ghz in my daily use.
But I heard that phone doesn't wake up if you I set the CPU frequency too low.
I am using Carbon Rom 5.1 and have root access.
PS: I have testing a little bit. My frequencies are working (using the App CPU Tuner and the recommended minimum frequency seems to be 300mhz. So I take this frequenz for my minimum).
PPS: So the thread can be deleted
