First of all, I have put together a stock .587 ICS based rom, with complete GB-look, just like in the 4.0.1 official alpha buld. I also added some performance tweaks. The question is: Should i share it?
You can:thumbup:

Can someone please suggest me the best available ROM for Xperia U.
Currently am at stock 3.7 Gingerbread.. and its quite slow... my contact book open in abt 40 sec sometimes even more...
Please suggest how to make it better and faster....
Im using TheBrainsRom, it's just a sony based rom with some tweaks for performance and battery life, and has a much smoother scrolling.
I was waiting for a good Miui Xperia U rom, but i'm quite satisfied with TheBrainsRom for now.

It's good...but quite laggy...(not much)
I like it and I'm gonna stay on this unless I find a video about another ROM which looks and feels better.
If you decide to unlock bootloader try Cyanogenmod 9 mate.
Or original 6.1.1.C.1.0

I would say, try the ROMs which have active development or try the one's after reading user comments, screenshots etc. to get an idea about the ROM. You should decide yourself, which ROM to use.
Sorry
That's right. You shouldn't ask for ROM recommendations, as its against forum rules.
If u want a fully stable rom there's no option fr ics currently; but stock jb v4 by devswift1 has only led bar and front cam bug i tried its really good!

It's easy. Take the first one you'll find and try it.
We cannot give you a real recommendation, because beauty, speed and stability are subjective sizes.
For general: Stock based (not ported) roms have normally less hardware related bugs. But they are based usually not on newest developments (i've not seen a sony based bean 4.2 rom for xu today).
Conclusion: you have to find "the best rom" yourself
Thumb through Xperia U Android Development. It's there waiting for you

Trannies and stuff?? Really?? Such a way with words you have there @gastonw lol. Funnest post of 2013 award goes to.......
BTW hope you had a good Xmas mate and a great new year.
Cyanfox
I have tried Cyanfox. I's very light applis and you you must go to GooglePlay for complete. No posibility when you are block night mode to have a few contact derogation ?
Thank's !
This thread is pointless. Nor were closed to hundreds in the last period. Use the search button to see the ROM and find maybe one suitable for you. I can only suggest the CyanFox, really good. But at the end are tastes, then good search!
P. S: Best Wishes for the new year
Thread closed as its a Best ROM thread.

if you look for a rom that matches SONY UI, then sorry to disappoint you, theres is none which is 100% like sony.
there some very good themed roms & with good stuff ported, but i dont knw much as i use CM only (stock android theme)
this both look nice:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2644333
&
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2761794
also you can look thru the dev thread (all roms there) if you find a good rom that matches your need. i remember there was also a rom that supported sonys theme engine (colorizing)
good luck
