So I've seen this asked multiple times with no answer, hopefully someone knows something they haven't posted? (Or I didn't find?)
I can't seem to send MMS messages unless I disable wifi.
No, mobile data is not shut off, it is working perfectly fine. I can even receive MMS with no issue, but SENDING doesn't happen until I disable wifi. I can sit with it enabled for a few minutes, disable it, and it will immediately send. I tried the goSMS/Handcent trick, no luck.
I've had this issue for months, but honestly I don't send THAT many mms messages where it's an issue, so I forget to ask usually. Has anyone found a decent fix for this?

I have the same issue. I typically just toggle off wifi until it sends and then toggle it back on. Annoying, I know. But, I've done factory resets and had the same issue come back eventually which leads me to think an app that gets automatically downloaded is the culprit. I'm on 4.3 TW rooted w/ locked bootloader (god bless replacements).

I was able to find a fix after searching for a while... at least for MY version of the problem. I rebooted into TWRP and "fixed permissions" and then it started working fine again... at least for now.
If you're still having this issue, it could be your APN. That seems to be a common issue with mms not working properly.
I had the same issue with my GS3 after I installed MOAR. I tried everything including checking my APN with no success. Eventually I replaced my secmms.apk with a port from the Note 3 and it worked fine after that.
Are you rooted? Running custom rom?

first: sometimes while texting i get and SMS Error and it wont send my text.
Says: "General Problems"
if i click details then it says: Cause code: 65535
error class 3
sometimes i just restart the phone and its cool. but then after a while it does it again. now it just does it all the time. but usually to whoever i was texting. sometimes others are not affected.
EDITok so i might have found the solution but i will leave this hear for future reference) i removed the +1 in front of the number and texts are working fine as of right now. if anything changes i will re-edit again.
EDIT2: so this did not work for me. i read it on the vzw community forum.
second issue. GPS. cant get a fix no matter what i do. ive tried everything i could without hard resetting the phone. i even downloaded GPS Status and used that. nothing helped.
phone is all stock. no root.
any help is greatly appreciated.
I had the same issue with textimg yesterday. I could receive but not send and would get the error message you had. I rebooted my phone and have not had the issue since. I am curious as well as to what caused this issue. I am stock, not rooted, and using the stock messaging application.

Try the GPS Test Plus app. It shows you how many satellites you're connecting. It connects actually pretty fast.
i just recently flashed the comrom v.0.1 but then my phone wouldnt connect to 3g. it could make calls and connect to wifi, but doesnt connect to 3g. after i got off from a call i received, it was connected to 3g for about 10 seconds, but went back to normal after 10 seconds. I did flash the ec09 modem/radio, but still the same problem. Thank you for your help
I've been experiencing similar problems but with Com rom 2.1, however my 3g data is sporadic at best, I'll have data for a few minutes then it will drop, then I'll get it back a handful of seconds, sometimes even minutes later, it's rather annoying since it prevents me from doing even the simplest of tasks with my phone. I've tried flashing to the EC09 modem hoping that it was an issue with the modem but it looks like it probably isn't. I've heard that it could possibly be fixed by doing an ESN swap, but then again the results were mixed, it worked for some, and then for others it'd do absolutely nothing.
and how will i do that? and my phones not connecting to 1x nor 3g,
I have had very good results with dialing *22899 send, it doesn't do the voice, after it rings press option 2. Let it finish, you'll get a commit successful message and have to let phone reboot. After it reboots do it a second time, it says it set lock code and.lock password, idk what those are, but 3g works really good for me after that.

If this doesn't work try pulling the battery as well.
If that still doesn't work you may have to go this route:

I know I wrote this based upon the assumption that the issue was the conversion to MTD, however that may not be the case. Before trying this, if you post a logcat I can look at it and tell you if you are having the same issue that I was.
Jp
and how would i post a logcat?
i think this is the logcat you were asking about, i didnt know which portion you needed, so i posted all.
Well, I can tell you that you are not having the same issue that I experienced. So, I don't expect that re-activating your phone using the method I described will have any effect. If all else fails, you are welcome to try it but I don't anticipate that it'll work.
From looking at your logcat, I saw a connection attempt that failed and a second that appeared to be successful. I could be wrong about the second one as I am still trying to figure out exactly what I'm looking at. Someone with a little more experience may be able to get more out of your log.
Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

I am having a peculiar issue. My Wi-Fi drops out and then reconnects every 30-45 minutes or so. I have the latest version of the ROM, flashed the boot.img in the thread, but it still doesn't fix my issue. It doesn't matter how far I am away from the signal, it just drops out temporarily, and then reconnects. I can't explain it. Other than that, it seems to be working great, but before I rooted and flashed, I never had any issues of any kind with the WiFi.
Also, it may be worth noting that I don't know for sure yet, but it may also turn on the WiFi automatically even though I have it set not to. Sometimes when I am out and about, I'll get a popup saying that WiFi networks were found nearby, do you want to connect etc...
Any help will be appreciated, I love this ROM and can't see myself going back on stock but this is a pretty cumbersome issue...
Re: WiFi Issue On Venom
Have you tried it out on other routers?
And fir the asking to join networks, there is a setting in wifi>advance for that.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
About the only thing that I haven't tried is another router, but the other devices on the network don't seem to be having any issues. Then again, it is an Airport, so...Yeah, I won't fully know until I get a chance to test it elsewhere...
But I know about the advanced setting and have it disabled. That's why I'm wondering it its something in the ROM or something that I did wrong that it keeps trying to come come back. My guess is that it's disconnecting the mobile network and resetting it, just as it is doing on the WiFi...
Update
Just in case someone else runs into this issue, the problem was with an app that I used to change my host name. It would intermittently interrupt my connection trying to do that. I uninstalled it and edited my build.prop file the old fashioned way. The issue didn't have anything to do with Venom, just the fact that I had rooted and tried new things.
Thanks for your help!
This was the app that caused the issue: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tiranodroid.change.hostname

Can you please go to the advanced editing options and change the name of your thread and place "Fixed" in there so people can reference it, if need, and what app it was. Thanks.
I am running Hyperdrive ROM rls 7. I have tried many things to get MMS picture messages to work on my phone again after they have stopped unexpectedly. I can send group MMS text messages however whenever I send a picture (no matter the size) it just continually loads and never sends. I have tried reinstalling various nandroid backups to no avail with fixing the problem. Could it be that i reinstall my textmessage data using titanium backup? does anyone have the stock messaging app apk? maybe reinstalling it would help, i really don't know at this point.

Are you connected to wifi? MANY people have reported issues both on stock and various ROMs with sending MMS while wifi is connected. Try disconnecting your wifi and see if they send. While connected to wifi, the MMS messages are supposed to trigger 4g connection which transmits the data via Verizon's network. In many phones/ROMs this doesn't work right. I'm not aware of an end-all resolution though.

Unfortunately they do not send regardless of whether WiFi is enabled or disabled.

What kind of mods do you have installed with Hyperdrive? You may have to switch to a different ROM or rooted stock ROM to re-test. I don't think it's broken in Scott's ROM, but could've been an app or mod that broke it.

I don't have any mods installed with Hyperdrive, only the ones that come with it. I have already tried restoring a nandroid backup i made right after I rooted but it doesn't work there either.

Maybe try a full wipe and clean install of a different ROM? If that doesn't work, I guess I would ODIN back to factory stock. If it doesn't work there you are all set to take to Verizon store and show them. You'd be eligible for a warranty swap, but I've never gone through that before, so I don't know how it completely works.
Dear Genius Developer Community,
First let me say thanks for the MOUNTAINS of information I have mooched from your collective brains over the last 5 or so years. From the time Android first launched you guys have made my whole experience more enjoyable.
I am using a Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX (XT912) on Verizon running Cyanogenmod 10.1.2 and the built in messaging application with Safestrap 3.11. Great phone made even better by a great ROM. The only issue I have had so far is a strange intermittent MMS problem: sometimes I just don't receive the message. Texting is fine and all other data access is perfect. Sometimes they come through, and sometimes they don't. When they don't, if I reboot the phone I can receive them again (at least for a time) but the ones that were sent during the down time never come through. Below are the things that I have tried and the effects they have had (if any). Any light you guys can shed here is greatly appreciated.
Wi-Fi
I read somewhere that MMS wouldn't send without a mobile data connection so I have tried completely disabling Wi-Fi - no effect.
Access Points
Everything I have found points to the Access Points being wrong and so I have messed with them for days going so far as to delete telephony.db and COMPLETELY removing all of the default access points replacing them with the EXACT APNs from the stock ROM - no effect.
Rebooting
Whenever I reboot my phone I can receive again. As previously stated, nothing sent before ever comes in but I can now receive new...for a time. Eventually I will get a text from someone "did you get that pic?" - temporary fix.
As an additional note, on the stock ROM I have never had an MMS issue of any kind so I know it's not a service or phone issue.
I to have been having issues with my MMS. But I run the newest nightly of avatar ROM. It is based off of Cyanogenmod from what I understand. Any who I'm having issues with my MMS not allowing me to send pics. This is only on this ROM. I had carbon and it seemed like it worked fine. Any way does anyone have a fix for this or is it a known issue with the Cyanogenmod at this point. And sorry, hope you don't feel I jacked your thread. We just both have a similar issue.
If you are running adblock plus turn it off. This fixed my issue
My MMS usually doesn't work on most custom ROMs, I switched to the handcent app and MMS always works.
