As the tittle said, how can I update the neatROM without having to reinstall everything? I have made an upload, but it erased all from my phone, and now with the 7.6 update, I don't want to loose everything again.
Thanks
You did something wrong, just flashing the latest version over the top won't wipe anything. Do a nandroid first to be sure.
If the new version requires a wipe then the chef will say so.

Ammm, yeah I know I have to follow the instructions, but here is the thing, the last time I had installed WhatsApp, Google Chrome, Some Games, and some other apps that do not appear on the installer. After the installation was completed, all of my old applications where gone, and even the Google Chrome app had to be updated.
This is why I have my question, if I select one again the applications that I want, then I'm thinking that this will once again, erase all of my older apps.
I just want to know if there is something special that I must do, for keep my old apps
Obviously if you choose to install apps as system during the aroma setup then you will lose the user version, how did you think you could have two versions of the same app?

Yes do a factory reset
You have to flash gapps in recovery. You can find them here: http://goo-inside.me/gapps
I don't know which version you need. I've been running MIUI for the past six months, so I haven't had to bother.
I suggest doing your flashing manually through recovery from now on. You have much more control over what you're doing, and the knowledge alone will save you from trouble in the future. If you don't know how, there are plenty of guides that will explain it... just search.

Ok well i am a dumbass as well as a noob but i need help.
so i found 2 other threads with my problem... but they are all for phones and i have a samsung galaxy player 5.0 US version
i had both TWLauncher and Go Launcher installedbut i didnt feel like having two launchers so i backed up TWLauncher and uninstalled it leaving just Go launcher. but i had read somewhere that if you stopped TWlauncher you went back to the stock gingerbread without any samsung apps overlaying or something.
Anyways i uninstalled Go launcher as well and now i turn it off and it reboots but stays on the samsung boot logo and only boots all the way when it is plugged in into the computer. i can connect it to the computer just fine, same thing with the status bar but other than that i can't do anything else please help
Okay, okay, I just barely understood what you were saying, I was reminded again when I read the topic title.
One important thing, can you enter recovery mode? You can try flashing a new rom. Or, if you are not rooted, you may have to use this here page to completely reset your device.

Can you access your status bar, turn on your wifi, and push a launcher from the play store by clicking install via. your PC? That way, you can have a launcher as your basis.
For instance, I go to the Play Store via. my PC, click Go Launcher, sign in if needed, and click INSTALL for my specified device.

Factory reset won't unroot your device. Do what the other guy said. Put a rom on your SD, go into recovery (if you installed one) and flash it.

Wipe data/cache in recovery.
Wipe dalvik cache.
Then flash the Resurrection Remix zip again.
(RR's previous build was ICS, moving to JB, you need to wipe cache and data).
If you need your data and other settings etc you need to reflash ICS RR, backup, then flash JB RR.

Hi I have a Samsung Galaxy S2. Android v4.0.4 LQ7
I am a noob so sorry if my question is stupid.
I have rooted using method 1 in that thread and it worked great.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746794
Then I downloaded the app ROM Manager and downloaded CM9 RC2 since it appeared to be a stable.
I used ROM manager to download the file cm-9.0.0-RC2-galaxys2.zip
Once downloaded I saved that file in the external SD Card and used ROM Manager to reboot in recovery mode and install the ROM.
The installation progress fine and complete. I then reboot my phone.
When rebooting the phone displays the Samsung galaxy S2 screen and then switched to Cyanogen (mod) 9 screen. From there nothing happens. The phone won't boot. I tried to removed the battery which is the only way to turn the phone off and reboot in recovery and reinstall the file but the same thing happens.
Please help!
You've probably installed wrong zip for your device/variation.
Specifically which GS2 have you got?
Did you wipe date/factory reset?
Try wiping before and after flashing?
Get the CM9 nightly and flash that instead or try flashing Siyah kernel over the one that is on your device now. I personally use Goo Manager from market as you can download/update/notifications and browse compatible roms via that.

If you do a wipe/reset it will clean all your installed apps/app data and restore settings to clean install.
Its advisable to do this whenever you are flashing a different rom. Its easy to backup and then restore all your apps automatically and silently (without intervention) in a few clicks after installing new rom with titanium backup (pro).
Reboot into recovery
Wipe data/factory reset
Install CM9 Nightly from internal or external card.
Install latest CM9 gapps
Reboot system.

Thanks. for that. Do you guys know of a shortcut button to turn the mobile data on or off, like the power button does on ICS?
Also I would like to raise an issue with the ROM Manager App. I cannot do a backup of my current ROM. Every time I try to do so the App freezes. It did the same when I first rooted my phone and I was on the Stock ROM I was unable to do a backup then.
Is this something that happen often with Rom manager?

Don't use ROM Manager, due to its incompatibility with most kernels and the S2.
Here's what to do about the short cut for mobile data:
Options –> System –> Notification Drawer –> Widget Buttons –> Toggle Mobile Data
It'll be there at the top when you pull down the drawer, if it's not immediately visible just slide the icons to the side and you'll see it.

You always do backups in recovery mode, Rom Manager (if compatible kernel) simply automates teh process of rebooting into recovery and starting backup.
Depending on your rom/version you can do this via power menu anyway (reboot into recovery).
STOP USING ROM MANAGER!
It can & most likely will fuc& your fone up. If u want to learn I suggest u read all of chainfires posts, then check out the SGSII Bible in the GS2 section. Then get urself the correct tar file for the Cf root kernel specific to ur country or region. That will get u outta the ****e if this ever happens again. Thanks for that. I think I know what Odin is. Thank you so much for that post. You have opened a whole new world! I have opened the SG2 bible I wish I have done that before. I am about to do a back up now. but I have not been able to do a back up of my original stock ROM since I was trying to do it with ROM Manager and it would freeze all the time. I think it is the worse that I could have done I have changed my ROM and didn't not do a back up before. i guess I will never be able to revert back to my stock ROM. Thanks again for you precious advises they have been very helpful!
Naa m8, u can always go back to a stock, u just need to tell me your country & the modem & ROM version, mine was stock Uk 4.0.3 & once you have that you can flash it with Odin then flash the Cf root kernel. you would then be on a totally stock ICS ROM but with root & CWM recovery so you can then flash anything you like. If you give me the country & which ROM (ICS or GB) you would like I can give you the necessary files for Odin.
Do not, I repeat DO NOT flash a stock ROM & stock unrooted kernel as if u do a full wipe it will hardbrick ur fone!

There's an even easier way....
Go here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1608071
then simply download the stock unbranded firmware for your country. it doesn't have to be your specific country but it helps as it has the csc etc that you need. Once you have downloaded it simply flash it with Odin & you will be running stock ICS 4.0.3 but with root so you can then flash CM9, but seriously I would highly recommended Omega v15. It's close to stock but sooooo much more. Im in all day if u need help

In that case you will need to flash an appropriate modem file for your device or possibly check APN details.
You can get modem via dev section (use search) and APN settings from your carrier or google.
Hey guys,
So I decided to flash the newest TrickDroid ROM (ver 11.0, I believe), and for whatever reason, my phone is telling me it isn't rooted anymore. I made a backup of all my data using Titanium, but I don't believe I made a Nandroid backup. SuperUser is saying that is needs to update the su binary, but I get an error when I try to update. Titanium can't do anything because it doesn't have root access.
I have VERY limited knowledge about this stuff and I really am not sure what to do. Please help! And thank you!

Go to the download section and choose the third option which is the link to flashable zips on his website. Go ahead and download the latest version, I believe it's 1.65 at the moment. Then just flash it in recovery, no need to wipe your data or anything.
See if that helps, should restore your root.

Thanks! Another problem (and this might require a new topic), it seems like every time I try to uninstall apps via tibu, when I restart my phone ALL of those apps come back. Most of them are HTC apps, but some aren't. I've uninstalled them 4 times now and they KEEP COMING BACK. It's very odd.
Also, I received an error (also in tibu) mentioning my Device ID had changed? I had it change it back, but perhaps this is related to the issue?
