I have a HERM200 (TYTN HTC Branded). I definately have a hardware error that seems to be related to motherboard pressure. Totally took the phone apart - cleaned everything and reseated connections. I initially did have problems flashing a radio/OS Rom due to NO GSM errors - but I did get a complete working flash. For a week the phone has been sitting on my desk without a SIM card on standby. Power cycled it a few times and the radio will always come on. Can turn the radio on and off with flight mode. Always comes back. Turned on WIFI and Bluetooth no problems. Do have a Dpad problem where the direction button will stop working unless I move the scroll wheel. Other than that it doesn't freeze even under load and don't have white screens or no return from standby. So doesn't seem to be heat related - ie processor heat.
OK, put a sim card that works fine in a 2125 and I can make and receive calls. Did it for many calls last night - received and made the calls. Send text messages. Opened the slider several times. No problems. Battery was down so I charged it though a USB connection. Got the battery up to about 50% Still can make and receive calls doesn't seem to "hunt" for a signal which the phone would do if the radio was failing.
Removed the SIM card this morning and put the battery back in - received the first NO GSM after about a week. Removed the battery and touched the metal plate behind the battery and the GSM came back on bootup. The case screws are snug not super tight.
Is is possible that the motherboard is either faulty - removing the SIM caused it to flex or touching the battery back plate flexed or reconnected some chip.
IMHO the battery plate backer is WAY too close to the motherboard and is either putting undue pressure on the motherboard chips or when the battery is charging it somehow expands slightly causing pressure points. Seems like the battery backer plate is sitting directly on the chipsets.
Any thoughts - seems like there are way too many NO GSM errors for this phone.
same problem here probably
Same problem here... I've tried to flash the radio, but it stucks after a while..
Please help me, my Dopod 838 Pro has No GSM!
There is probably little you can do. Either the chip on the motherboard is fried or you did a bad flash. Explain the situation - did it just happen or did you flash something and it went bad. If it "just" went bad the radio is more than likely defective and no amount of software fixes will correct it. You will need another motherboard or a new phone. There are tons of articles about no GSM errors and sometimes it will come back but not for long. Known problem with this phone unfortunately.
hi,
I'm thoroughly baffled here .... can anyone help please ? ... it's a long post I'm afraid, since I want to include all the info I can.
recently my beloved Legend suddenly decided it has no signal .. I get 'limited service' and the dreaded red 'X' all the time.
prior to this I had done no changes to phone nor had back cover off or taken the sim out. I have upgraded it to Blayos rom and all has been fine.
after some searching I discovered all the advice re bad antenna and a so called fix by shorting some terminals with a piece of wire.
(exactly which terminals was not made too clear though)
I am not sure though that I actually do have a bad antenna as I have cleaned the 2 under the bottom cover and 'lifted' the mating contacts ...
and have done the same with those under the camera cover.
one other thing I did was to circuit test all the 6 contacts in my phone, and they all 'ring out' ok ...
indeed they all ring out to each other, even with covers off, which suggests to me that there is a good circuit in the phone
still no service, but my GPS gets a lock pretty quickly, does it use the same antenna setup ? ...
I'm not even sure if it does really as I have read that phone will not work with bottom cover off, yet my GPS certainly does !
lastly I doubt it is the sim as it works fine in my wife's phone, but her's does not in mine.
over 190 viewings and no suggestions ...anyone please ?
in desperation I have changed my Radio from 7.13.35.05 to 7.13.35. 13 and got no improvement
Last act of desperation would be returning to stock...
If your not on airplane mode all the time I doubt this is a software issue.

Hi All
I know this is too late to post as Dell Venue is complete extinct in market but still i know many people own this device and love it
ISSUE
SIM card issue, Suddenly this phone pops up that SIM card is not inserted or unavailable, Network go away and automatically get resolved after restart or after re assembling battery.
RUMORS
Many people believe that this issue is happening because they loaded a custom ROM on device and THIS IS NOT CORRECT.
I own Dell Venue and facing this issue from last 8-9 months. I tried MIUI, CM7 various version but issue was always same..
Some people think its a network IC issue, That is wrong because phone can still show you available networks.
ACTUAL REASON
Dell Device motherboard doesn't have all the component soldered on it and they are just assembled in such a way that it stay in physical contact with motherboard, SIM card holder is one of them. SIM card holder is a small PCB placed over motherboard and pushed against motherboard with the help of its case. Once your phone is few months old or fell down several times, The body of phone becomes slightly loose and cause the issue that SIM card holder lose contact from main motherboard and phone pops that SIM card issue.
SOLUTION
1. UNSCREW your phone. There are 5 screws on phone. 4 are visible and 1 is under a white cap.
2. Open the case. Be CAREFUL of its small component and antennas
3. You will get SIM holder, Flash and antenna completely out of motherboard.
4. Now you will find all these components are connected to motherboard by golden colored metal (Like battery contact metals in every phone).
5. Use a pin and push all those metals litle out (like you used to do in your nokia phone when your battery used to loose contact with phone)
6. Clean all the component safely (Optional) - But i did because there was a lot of dust got collected in case causing it to get loose.
7. Assemble your phone back and tight the screws really well.
Turn on the phone and your phone is new again.
These steps will resolved WIFI and network issues as Antennas of phone are also connected in same way.
NOTE. Antennas are tiny metal plates placed under side silver plastic case. DO place them back else WIFI and GSM will show very low network.
I did this two weeks back and not a single time i got sim issue again, moreover my WIFI and GSM range is improved.
Thanks
Hope this will help.
Hello.
I have problem with my Elephone P9000. When the network signal is poor, the network indicator loses signal for a few seconds and in this time, the message "Sim card has been removed" appears for a moment. After that, the signal turns back on (4G), very quickly switches to 3G, and this situation repeats after minute or two. I checked on other sim cards, and the problem is still present. I've done manual upgrade to 20160315, and it not helped. I wonder if it's hardware problem or the software has some bugs.

Hi,
I had the same problem... My p9000 has arrived just a week ago and since the beginning, several time per day, specially when the phone was in my pocket, it appended to lose contact with the Sim card and even with the SD card. I tried to put a piece of tape on the back side of the tray Sim holder... and after few days it seems work....if can be useful
Thanks, but this method did't work. I noticed, that phone loses network even when signal power is about 3/4. I'm writing to elephone right now.
I have the same problem, my p9000 arrived today.. after setingup everything the simcard cannot be read.
I tried multiple solutions none of them work. anyone already got the solution?
I had a small succes with 2 simcards but it lasted a short time
Greetz
Flashing Aerom V1 solved my problem.
Friend of mine received this phone yesterday and has the same issue. They keep getting this error every few minutes even when the phone is placed on a table so I reckon it's firmware related?

Yes. ROM 20160419 and every other based on it solves this issue.

It doesn't. I received the OTA and I still have the problem.
It's strange. I installeg IMUI official rom, based on 0419 and still was fine, till i started to play with LTE bands. Disconnecting sim card problem appeard again. Then i flashed stock 0315, download OTA and problem has gone.
Maybe a solution with scotch tape on back of the sim card will be useful to you.

I have this issue after the upgrade also. I do not think its hardware related as the issue can pop up even when the phone is sitting on a bench.
I have 2 SIMs in the phone, and it seems to happen much more than when there is just one.
It feels like when there is multiple connections that the phone gets confused and drops out.
The phone drops out while on calls too, which makes it worthless to me.
Is it faulty? Should I send it back?
I have the same problem with my P9000.
It looks like some mobile data information seems to cause some kind of exception which will then drop out the SIM card.
I had the same problem. So I ordered another P9000. Problem solved, second phone works fine. I swapped the SIM card trays to verify, the problem (in my case anyway) is with the tray as the old tray causes the same problem in the new phone and the new tray works fine in the old phone (damaged/bent/bad batch/different manufacturer/sub-contracted? Who knows?). Wrote to Elephone (for a replacement SIM card tray), will see what they have to say.
(As a very unsatisfactory workaround, if you bend the tray very slightly (bend the middle down from the top) and insert it in the slot almost all the way except for the last 0.3-0.5mm (friction holds it in place), so it protrudes about the same distance as the buttons (so it looks like another button) then this seems to hold the SIM card in the right place. It is a bit tricky but do it right and it stays in place (a few weeks now, no problems). If you break it it is your responsibility not mine, though (let's see if Elephone will give replacements). Best solution I could come up with as the alternative is owning a $200 piece of plastic that does nothing. (now I have two (3 actually) dual SIM card phones. Lucky I have a lot of SIM cards.

I removed the SIM card tray because I wanted to swop the SIM's around. It has been several hours now with no drop out so it will be interesting to see how long it works before droppping out again. I didn't dare to bend the tray because knowing me I would have broken it!
Duplicated in error.
search for lost imei on mtl devices.
you can restore it with enginnering mode . its easy

Did you manage to get a replacement tray? I'm having this issue on a second p9000 I bought and can't seem to find a proper solution
I've had one drop out only since I removed and re-inserted the SIM card tray as per my post no #13.
I did inform Elephone of the problem but apart from a standard automated acknowledgement, I never had a response. What a surprise!
That's bad news. I've got a third p9000 and it's the only one causing problems. I've factory reset it and hope the seller takes it back as no matter what it won't detect the SD card in the first slot or the SIM card in either now. The QA on this sim tray is really bad. There aren't any compatible parts for the tray anywhere? Does the tray share the same design as say a p8000 or other elephone models? Or even a different phone entirely?
I have the same issue. I even had to remove the SIM pincode, because after the phone thought the SIMS had been removed and later found them again it keeps hanging on the SIM lock. This sometimes happens in my pocket without me knowing that i do not have a network connection at that time.
So how can we decide if it's hardware of software related?
Software: In my opinion this issue only came about after updating to the 20160419 ROM.
Hardware: Once the phone suddenly found my SIMS again after hitting it softly (softly, i swear).
I will be following this thread closely
I have the problem too, the First weeks I had no problem. Now it happens from time to time around two times a Day. I'm using Eragon 2.0.
"Emergency Calls" only, loose SIM card tray or SIM motherboard contacts? How to fix?
lately, i have been having random issues with my phone not detecting SIM card or saying emergency calls only.
I fear it might have been cuased by me as I opened up the phone to tweak the motherboard abit in order to fix the GPS contacts being weak (which is now fixed yay!) . But at the same time, when I opened the phone, where I had to seperate the screen from the metal casing I had forgot to take out the SIM tray.
I did manage to seperate the screen even with the tray attached, and I did it very gently. that said,. I am wondering if I had some any damage. at this point i feel i may have bent some small pins, anyone have any idea to fix this?
Thanks!
