I've looked around for this so apologies if answered already.
With UK o2 shipping with bootloader unlock = no phones, is it still possible to flash official stock UK generic firmware?

As long as it's for the same phone model, nothing happens, apart from having an O2 software branded phone!
You'll likely loose root etc also

Hello
I bought a branded xperia s phone. I live in Switzerland and have now a branded swisscom phone.
Now I wanna remove the branding of the phone. I have actually no data to backup on the phone.
What I have to do to remove the branding?
I saw the following thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1557148 Do I have to do something with this number?
Thank you very much for your help.
Just flash any unbranded firmware with flashtools, you can find all the firmwares in dev section.

I think you mean this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1591066
and what would be the CE1? The difference between the both?
I currently have the phone with T-Mobile branding but its notrooted or anything. Can I flash the uk generic firmware with flashtool if its not pre rooted? Would it cause any damage to my phone?
Thanks in advance.
Yes you can with no problem.

why?
i dont care about the warrnty because i will buy it in uk and open it to sim free and use it in other country so the vodafone warrenty no matter.
so if i dont care about the warrenty so no problem to buy it?

Its not about warranty, its about development. You wont be able to unlock bootloader and flash custom roms, if you dont care, then go ahead, there are no other differences, since you can flash generic firmware and get rid of vodafone stuff if you want to.

Christ.. Please pay attention, i wont repeat again. You CANT unlock bootloader, and you CANT flash custom made roms, as in the ones you can find in development section. What you can do, is flash generic sony firmware, basically same vodafone rom just without all vodafone apps and branding.
