Shortly, I received a notification about a system update on my Z2 tablet.
I decided, not to update my device to the latest version as long as I don't know what changes will be done with this update and there is also no change history to be found...
Unfortunately, I now have a symbol for that update in the notification bar and can't get rid of it.
Does anybody know, how to remove the notification/symbol without updating?
Thanks!
i dont get why wont you want to update it as it solves many problems that alot of people are having, especially touch screen issues.
if you still insist to then try the following:
1) launch settings / apps / all / update center / clear data & cache / uncheck show notifications then
2) launch update center / settings / uncheck notifications & disable allow auto downloads

i have the following issue after updating to ICS and then re-rooting :
-clock and weather widgets stop after a couple of hours - a reboot fixes this temporarily
-apps don't start automatically after reboot - i have to manually start apps like battery indicator pro manually when they used to restart before the ICS update
-some settings don't seem to save - e.g i used to use SGS Tools to switch off the startup sound but even though i set this, it doesn't seem to take effect
-battery usage has gone up by quite a bit - this could be apps like the weather apps constantly trying to update the weather and failing ?
does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong and how i can fix it ? i have just done a hard reset which hasn't fixed the issue ...
thanks in advance
Go into CWM Recovery, wipe data -> cache -> dalvik, from Mounts and Storage format system data and cache. After all those try to install this cleaning script http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1363738, and finally flash the rom and the rooted kernel.
thanks - will give that a try later today and report back.
I have an HTC Desire with the latest stable KK ROM.
See here for more info
I used this ROM for almost 1 year without any issue. Then yesterday while I were showing to a friend how to install the gapps package I wrongly reinstalled it on my phone from the recovery screen and now the Home button doesn't work anymore. Furthermore the notification bar doesn't show me notifications about SMS , whatsup , app updates etc ... When the led start blinking I have to open every app to check if a message or SMS is arrived. Google Play work without problems.
All the settings and the apps are still there but I can't use the phone without these features. I tried to remove the google account , wipe the cache and the dalvik cache but the problems still remain.
I have 42 apps installed and a lot of settings and I dont want to reset and reinstall all the apps again. Is there something I can do ?
Finally I managed to restore the home button and the notification bar.
The only thing I had to do was to run the Setup Wizard again.
I powered on my phone I connected it to the computer and I run the following command:
Code:
adb shell am start -n com.google.android.setupwizard/.SetupWizardTestActivity
I inserted again all the settings into the wizard screens and when I clicked on "Finished" .... boom the notification bar showed me the notifications about sms and others.
Also the home button now works flawlessly.
does anybody know if it is possible to uncheck system notifications of some system apps that are gray out
I'm wonder if it is possible cos I want to stop some system apps like system update and others
I can't change themes on Galaxy A20e.. It says there's an update available for Samsung Themes, but it doesn't do anything on tapping Update - it just reports error S2.
Also, I can't update or add keyboards (languages). Whenever I tap on the download icon on the languages list, it just doesn't do anything (i.e. immediately writes out "download cancelled" at the bottom).
Could all this be connected to Galaxy Store app, or is there another reason? In the beginning I denied its access to phone and contacts (as I don't really need/use it), but later on re-enabled. However, nothing changed - Galaxy Store app also reports that there's an update available, but it doesn't go past the update progress screen.
I've already tried force stop for Galaxy Store and Galaxy Themes, deleting their cache and data, starting the device in safe mode and trying to update those two there... still nothing changed.
I've got a Nokia 7.1, which in System-About Phone says it is a 7.1, TA-1096. But when I sideload a stock ROM (to move from Oreo to Pie) it says 'E: package is for product CTL_Sprout but expected B2N', and refuses to install it. My understanding is CTL-Sprout is the 7.1, and B2N is the 7 Plus.
It also:
- fails to find that any OTA updates are available despite being on 8.1;
- won't take a B2N ROM by sideload (says 'E:failed to verify whole file signature', 'E:signature verification failed' and 'E:error 21'); and
- interacts fine with ADB when booted or in recovery, but isn't recognised by the fastboot devices command when in 'download mode'., so I haven't been able to flash TWRP.
It all seems strange to me, but I'm not very experienced. I originally put the phone aside when I found there was not going to be a bootloader unlock, and am keen to now get it to Q and try to root it. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Hi oujdamp. It doesn't look promising I'm sorry … I started a similar thread on the Nokia forums and got some useful (but disappointing) information. The link is here: https://community.phones.nokia.com/discussion/59020/my-7-1-thinks-its-a-7-plus-and-so-wont-update
Hi.
I just contact nokia care about my case . And he ask me to floww thes steps
1. Go to Settings > Apps and notifications > App info > Google Play services > Storage > Clear data and Clear cache
2. Settings > Security and location > Location Off
3. Please remove the phone SIM card.
4. After that, please check for the update availability via Wi-Fi network: Settings > System > System update > Check for update
5. Soft reset: Press and hold at the same time Power key and Volume Up for Only 10 sec, until short phone vibration and Powered by Android message. Your phone will restart, without deleting your data.
VPN Steps:
After trying the above steps if the issue still remains, you can try to use VPN:
Turn Location off: Go to Settings > Security and location > Location > Tap to switch it Off.
Download a VPN from Play Store.(Any VPN application)
Clear Cache and data of Google Play services: Settings > Applications > Google Play Services > cache and data
Deactivate Google Play Services. Navigate to Settings > Apps and notifications > See all apps > Google Play Services > Disable
(In case you cannot Disable it Please go to "settings" - "Security" - "Device Administrators" - Turn OFF "Find my device" try the steps 2 again).
Then go to "Settings" - "Location" Turn it OFF. Soft reset the device.
Now open the VPN app that you have downloaded and run it.
Check for the Update.
Go to "Settings" - "Apps"- Look for Google Play Services and Enable it.
But i cant finish thoses steps . Once i disable google services tbe update option disapear
