Hi there!
I don't know what to do??
Am getting a brand new Korean made LG G2-32Gb at $450.
1. Should I go for it?
Or wait for some other phone like Oneplus One?
2. Will there be a price drop in G2?
3. Am into gaming and internet etc. Is G2 fine for next 2 years?
Please help :crying:
if your going to spend that much I'd get the LG G3 or wait for the LG G2 to drop in price after the G3 is out for a while.
Seems good

LG G2 is a good smartphone to buy. But as you are saying that this you are getting this phone for $450, I think its a good price. But I have seen on many portals that this product is available for nearly $430. The features available in this smartphones are really amazing. I must say that you have opted a good choice and you must select this phone for you.
I think that waiting for any other mobile will not be a wise option. The reason is that after small span of time a new phone might be available with new technology and features. At that time you might again get confused to whether buy it or not. So I think that you must makeup your mind and buy this LG G2.

Hi,
First for the managers, it's my first post here in XDA, so if i did something wrong please fix me and dont lock the thread, thnx
Ok so lets begin:
I'm debating between the Nexus 5 and the LG G2.
I know it's LG G2 forum but i need your recommendation, so please answer seriously.
Usually i use the phone to play games like FIFA 14, Modern Combat 4, NBA 2K13 and more heavy games.
I need powerful battery that will hold 8-10 Hours at least.
I know that the G2 have powerful battery, but is it wroth the price of him?
I'm liked the Nexus 5 interface, does the G2 have some launchers that change it like the Nexus interface?
The G2 and the Nexus 5 is almost the same phone.
The only thing why i dont buy it right now it's because the software updates, i heard that it gonna be something like 2-3 updates for him and thats it.
Is it true?
Thank you !
Might be helpful to specify what country and what mobile phone carrier you plan to use it on, and also how much of a price difference you would have between the two phones (since that can change depending on country).
Personally, I *love* my G2 - especially it's battery life. But ... I also got it for $150 on contract. If I were comparing direct prices it would be like $600 for the G2 and $350 for the Nexus 5. For that kind of difference, I would definitely go for the N5. I cannot find enough reasons to pay such a premium for the G2 no matter how much I like it. Lose some features and battery life, but you also get Qi wireless charging which can make it more tolerable, and the regular updates is a nice bonus!
i think g2 with asop is the best device!

Can you explain why?
You didn't answer MobileNicks questions. It looks like you are in Israel? What's the price for YOU? In U.S. the price is a major factor as it may be for you. Since you didn't mention it though I'm guessing price is no concern for you and your money tree?
And what carrier bands are in Israel? If you want band 13? Like Verizon in US then Nexus 5 is out. You didn't mention using it as a phone so is it just a gaming device?
If you want updates get the Nexus 5.
Do you ROM? Nexus 5.
Battery, screen, camera G2.

Thanks for the prompt answer.
Actually i dont know about the band but i know that it is not an issue here. About the price, well in Israel the price is almost the same (LG is 50$ more expensive).
I want to buy it in US.
Maybe i will root him, but not sure.
The usage will be more of gaming then phone...
How do you expect a mod to not close this thread. All you need to do is read the rules and use some common sense. Like maybe posting a question in the thread for questions and answers. I think you would be better off with a nexus 5 only so you can post in that forum.

I have now owned the G2 for only 2 weeks and it has been out for nearly 7 months. I have never been more excited about a phone since owning a Note 2...
I have owned 5 devices (Note 2, Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Moto G, Optimus G, Galaxy Nexus - in no particular order.) in the past year and none of them have ever gave me the wow factor that the G2 has given. I believe I will own the G2 until it be breaks...
With this year's release of new flagship devices, do you find yourself wanting to upgrade?
The point of this thread is to ask you guys, "do you always upgrade to the next best thing, or do you use your device til it breaks.?"
This is the first time I have felt that a device will suffice for the next few years...

I really haven't been this amazed by a phone that's for sure...Just like you I have owed many phones this one has impressed me in every category.I believe I will keep or try to at least for 2 years.
Sent from my LG-D800 using Tapatalk
I usually keep my smartphone for at least 2 years because that's the time you're usually bound to your carriers contract over here in germany, after that you can get discounts on new phones if you prolong your contract
I wouldn't exactly say i'm a smartphone nerd although i like to play with custom roms and stuff but i was really excited to get the G2.
I had the old galaxy S Plus before the G2 and of course that's a huge difference. But the only thing i really needed the G2 for was the better camera and gaming performance, for everything else the S Plus with CM 10.2 was good enough for me and my wife is still using it.
I guess i'll keep the G2 for at least 2 years because i can hardly find anything i don't like about it except no sd slot and no changeable battery but i don't really need that since i got the 32 GB version and the battery life is good (if you don't play game a lot that is).
Looking forward to the G3, should qualify for a Jump upgrade by the time T-Mobile gets it

Sounds like most of you guys are pretty satisfied with the G2.

I'm satisfied with G2 too. Maybe the 1st device I didn't try to root & install custom rom the moment I bought it. I used to be attached to Samsung phones so G2 is the 1st break for me. Well, I'm glad I made the break!
About not changing the phone, well that depends on how LG rolls out updates in future. I might just get fed up & change to other brand if support for update is scarce like now.

Tbh the G2 is still the best phone on the market, including the HTC M8 and SGS5. There really is no reason to change unless you simply want to. Nothing that has come out this year is worth any out of pocket expense. Perhaps when the Note 4 is released this fall, then maybe.. if you like Samsung. Even then, I think we have reached a temporary lull in smartphones where anything new is a very, very slight improvement. I wouldn't switch until something blows me away, and nothing so far has.
As crazy as this may sound to some I honestly dont know how anyone can
A) have only one device at a time
B) hang onto to it without at least upgrading to something else after some time.
I bought 5 devices in 2013 all of them outright...still have 3 of them (G2, Note 3, S4)..and so far this year these have my attention:
G3
G flex (if it had sd card support id have it already)
G pro 2
Z2
and thats so far and its not even april yet lol..probably end up with 3 or more new ones this year even though I had wanted to slow down a bit...but whats a guy to do lol?
Theres guys who go through alot more devices than me around here though...u know who you are!

Nope I just like new devices....I get bored easily.
Why limit yourself to one device when its easy enough to have a few?

I also go through phones very quickly but I have never owned more than one at a time. I just enjoy a change every now and then, sold my note 2 for the LG G2 and now I'm looking at selling the LG G2 for a HTC one M8 or just buying the device to use alongside my LG G2 since I'm not sure if i could let this phone go xD.

Oooh, so Mother Nature needs a favor?! Well maybe she should have thought of that when she was besetting us with droughts and floods and poison monkeys! Nature started the fight for survival, and now she wants to quit because she’s losing. Well I say ‘hard cheese.’

I hope so because I am not sure my wallet could take me buying the M8 but temptation always get the better of me >.<
Just got a G2 today. Since I immediately installed SlimKat on it, it's pretty much identical to the Nexus 4 its replacing but with a bigger screen and better camera. Progress marches on. Before that I had a One X running AOKP and before that a Motorola Atrix running CM10. As Android gets better, the hardware it's running on seems to matter less and less with each new phone for me... The G2 is nice though. Battery life and the contrastier LCD really swung it for me vs. the Nexus 5. The only thing I don't like is that it looks sorta Samsung-ish... And I have an irrational hatred of Samsung.

I got the G2 a few weeks ago because I dropped my S4 and the screen shattered. I used my son's upgrade, so I can still get the G3 in a few months I'll give him the G2 when it does.
Neither S5 nor M8 is attractive enough for me to upgrade from my G2. The only regret I have, since I just bought it 3 weeks ago is how I missed the buzz of One Plus One. Had I known it earlier, I might will wait for its release before buying this monster. LG did well with this phone and I wonder why the demand for G2 is quite low. It's a well rounded device and cost me less than an S4 here in my country (we don't have carrier contracts here and purchase the phone outright).
Does anyone have a day or time, we will be updated to the new android? T-Mobile version.
Soon...
How soon ..
Take a calendar, go to February, cross out days 1-15, then throw a dart on it. Pretty much as accurate of a guess as any.
It really sucks that LG has decided to shaft it's flagship in order to release 6.0 first on the G4, when all their advertising is for the v10.

I hate to say it, but the V10 is far from their flagship device. Maybe after releasing V10 variants a few times it'll get there. Until then, the G series is still considered the LG flagship, even if it is cheaper. I love the V10 more than most and I'm sure we will have MM sooner than later.

Exactly. The G series is their flagships. Their others are, honestly, niche devices that they don't really focus all their efforts on.
Hi!
I'd really like to get a new phone to replace my ageing LG G2 whose GPS is getting more and more buggy and 2 gigs of RAM is not enough to give me easy use of Pokemon Go. While I don't consider it perfect, I don't like AMOLED screens and the nearest competitor, HTC 10, is way more expensive here in Czechia.
Anyway, I'd like to ask what should I be aware of when buying LG G5. Any faulty series? Something to check immediately? GPS? Backlight bleeding issues?
Thanks!
Be aware that the V20 comes out later this month

Good point! The V20 may be too large for me, but it may offer some interesting ROM porting possibilities maybe.
Hello everyone,
So recently I'm considering a new phone as my current daily driver is very old (Samsung Galaxy Grand Gt-i9082).
Among the phones I'm considering is a used LG V10, with a very good price, I examined the phone and it seemed in very good shape externally, and I feel in love with it as it felt great in my hand.
now I've never bought a used phone before and I don't know what to check in a used phone before buying it, can you guys help me figure out how to decide whether this is a good deal or not? like what do I need to check before I buy it? and what do I need to be concerned about?
In the same price range, I am offered a new Sony Xperia XA Ultra or a LG Nexus 5X (16 gb model). Do you think the LG V10 is the best choice over these two especially that I'm getting it for a similar price?
Thank you in advance.
First of all v10 is better than ur other options. Nexus is always good but 16 is no go. Now since you have already seen v10, if it is clean from outside it probably is good from inside. But still u have to check thoroughly. First of all check essentials like wifi, Bluetooth, display (for dots), speaker, cameras, mic and earphone. Now download and install as many benchmark apps as possible, run each one of them one by one, if there will be any thing fishy with the 'soc' the set will shutdown or go mad, now after all test check the phone details in any of the benchmark apps, details about hardwares. By this time u r almost done but it is obvious no one can check a phone in an hour or couple. So try to take money-back warranty of atleast 24hrs to be on the safe side, if phone is OK the shopkeeper will happily agree but sometimes they will not. And last but not least I will try to give you some other options;
1, nexus 6
2, note 4
3, lg g4
4, oneplus 2
Hope I have helped you. Thanks
