Tested 2x R800a. Please let me know if it doesn't work on your device!
THIS WILL WIPE YOUR DEVICE!
So you have a R800 that can't be unlocked officially i.e:
Code:
Bootloader unlock Status: [B]No[/B]
:crying:
What this means is that while we can get the device's bootloader unlocked(TP method), it will not enable fastboot access.
So we lack the ability to flash kernels, in .img formats...but why not just make a FTF packed kernel, which we can flash through flashmode?
I'm actually not sure to tell you the truth(*insert conspiracies*), but that was the solution this whole time...
Note: I have only made FTF versions of Turbo Kernel v3.1 by CosmicDan (R800x/R800a/i/at) I have vouch for the R800a to be working, others will need testing....(just have stock FTF ready to go:fingers-crossed
Requirements
Flashtool
GSM ONLY: Vendor-Unlocked Partition layout

Google Doc's link from [URL="forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1817548"]CosmicDan Turbo Kernel [/URL]
Ability to use Flashtool... Read Flashing A FTF by fma965
Paperclip or pin + wire for Testpoint (if BL not unlocked)
S1tool for Testpoint (if BL not unlocked)
STEP 1: BL Unlock Via Test Point method (Locked BL Only)
If your bootloader is currently LOCKED:
Read TP Guide by DragonClawsAreSharp...If you don't feel comfortable doing this...stop reading.
If you are comfortable with unlocking the bootloader then go ahead and do it.
Here is R800 TP location(quick google search): Here, and with red dot...you can use a paperclip and hold it to the (-) battery terminal to achieve the same results as the TP cable the guide shows.
In Flashtool (if you ever noticed):
Code:
S1_Loader_Root_773f - Version : R4A066 / Bootloader status : NOT_ROOTABLE ([I]lies[/I])
will now become:
Code:
S1_Loader_Root_773f,S1_Loader_test_Root_xxxx - Version : r4A069 / Bootloader status : ROOTED ([I]huehue[/I])
STEP 2: Prepare for Kernel
For GSM Only: Flash R800i_4.0.2.A.0.62_phoenixvendor.ftf with Flashtool. Let device fully boot to language selection page.
Read through Turbo Kernel (or what ever kernel.ftf you plan to use)
Grab a rom, look at the compatibility section on the kernel page.
Copy rom over to root directory of phone memory card.
Prepare your body?
STEP 3: Kernel Time + Rom
R800a/at/i Turbo Kernel 3.1 Download
R800x Turbo Kernel 3.1 Download
More Kernels!! Thanks denisfgn
Flash via Flashtool in flashmode.
Unplug usb....press and hold power button until 1 vibration....wait...wait...:victory:
Wait for the blue LED + vibration?, then press Volume Up. You should enter a sexy recovery...
Select: "Slot 1" > "TWRP Recovery" > "Wipe" > Wipe Cache, Dalvik Cache, System, then Factory Reset.
Go back to main page (hit back button), then select "Install", scroll down to the Rom you copied to the device, select and install it.
If you forgot rom: plug phone into computer, then in TWRP Select "Mount"> "Mount USB Storage" copy rom over to phone then install it
Reboot. Done.
This method should work for all Xperia 2011 devices that lack fastboot, but can be/are unlock via testpoint (anyone that can test let me know). Just need kernel to be in packed as a .ftf...
HAS THIS BEEN DONE BEFORE?? Maybe I can't search properly...

Do you think there's a chance for my WT19a 12w31 with "bootloader unlock allowed: no"?
Could you share the resulting .ftf? I tried to, but it fails everytime. I don't know, maybe I'm missing something or it only works with the mini pro sk17.
I´ve been trying with my girlfriends mini st15 (already unlocked bootloader via test point) and just can´t make it work.
Does someone have a jellybean ftf kernel for the ST15?? Thank you...

Cada archivo ftf es unico, cada vez que intentes instalar una nueva rom deberas extraer el archivo boot.img de la rom y convertirlo en ftf , luego ingresar al recovery y instalar la rom.
Each ftf file is unique, every time you try to install a new ROM will have to extract the boot.img file in the ROM and turn it into ftf, then enter the recovery and install the rom.

Or you unlock it using the "TP Guide by DragonClawsAreSharp"?

I've tried to convert a kernel boot.img to ftf like 10 times, I've even tried another kernels, but I get the same error everytime I try to flash. I've followed everything in the tutorials.
I have ST15i by the way.
Could you send me the ftf you've created? So I can test if the ftf was the problem.

Hi everyone,
I use Ubuntu 12.04 moved Flashtool on my system added the
rules to /etc/udev (checked from this Guide) and also readed this one.
With lsusb the device looks connected when even if the smartphone is
startet normal and when the device is OFF and i connect the usb cable
and press the volume down button.
It is not sure for me how i can start my device in flashmode as
it let flashtool its work with SK17i_4.0.2.A.0.62_Baseband+Kernel.ftf.
Can somebody explain me how i can proof that the device is startet
in flashmode correctly? Do it boot in a other way and show something
in flashmode or is the display after SE normaly blank?
My next step is that i like to get it updated and rooted (with this
update_4.0.2.A.0.69_SK17_PreRoot-Ex.zip one i guess). Must i transfer
this update with flashtool too? Or how can i bring this update on my device?
Flashtool dont start to flash my device (maybe becuse i have no clue
to start it correctly in flashmode). Or do i need to install an app?

Yes, but when the device is turned off, first hold down the Volume DOWN button, then connect the cable.

If you did, like I said previously, green LED lights up, display stays off and your device in flashmode.

No, this has to be installed via Recovery. Recovery requires custom kernel(and unlocked bootloader) or rooted ROM(which is pointless then).
Install older firmware, .58 or older, root it and then make direct update from your phone to .62(.69 if you're in Germany).
Place your phone in flashmode, when Flashtool asks it. Make sure drivers are properly installed, no additional apps needed.

Thanks for your answer. I googled a little bit and found that
there was an update for flashtool released.
Code:
* 0.8.0.0 :
[b]- Fixed an issue with flashing ftf under linux (specially ubuntu 12.04) [/b]
- Fixed system app backup when ls applet used to enumerate system apps is busybox one with colorization
- Added a kernel.sin extractor (ELF Extractor) to get image, ramdisk and rpm.bin on 2012 devices
- Added a Sin editor which is only capable of extracting data part from sin files for the moment.
- Added drivers for Xperia U, Sola, P
- Added Xperia U, Sola, P recognition (thanks to krabappel2548)
I had lost my mind and was a little bit before driveing crazy because there was no reason that i could found as reason because it dont work ...
Cross fingers that hopefully the newer version will work

Phone is restarted to flashmode. Disconnect and power it up yourself.
The ftf file, that you used, was only kernel and baseband(no system, no data - no ROM itself), not the whole package. Download full ftf file and try again.
These .sin files are just shown, you don't have to choose anything there.

Hi!
First I apologize for my English, I am writing with the help of Google translator.
Was using Stock Rom JB (6.2.A.0.400) on my Xperia P when I decided to install the Rom Fidelity JB v1.0. Then installed the THP kernel via fastboot and then installed the rom Fidelity JB v1.0, however my phone does not turn over. When I connect the charger the red led lights up but the screen does not turn on, but when I turn on the pc the Sony PC Companion does not recognize but wondershare mobile go recolhece as the X8 (e15i). :sillyAFUQ!!!
When I try to put another rom or another kernel through Flashtool the following message appears:

Hello,
I was trying to root my sola so to solve the wifi bug.
I found i need to flash it back from .54 to .10 using flashtool
Although, i am not being able to do it as I get a error message regarding drivers
What I do is I install flashtool on c:
I go to the drivers folder and execute Flashtool-drivers.exe and I install the Sola Drivers as well as the Flashboot and Fastboot drivers.
I open flashboot, select the .10 kernel, press flash, it tells me to turn off my sola and run it at flash mode (Volume down + USB) and then it gives me Drivers error message...
Can anyone help me?

I saw the Error in processHeader before, not sure if the same number, and it was also driver issue I think.
Can you post the whole log?

I already got that.
that was just because i was running on flashloader 64, i switched for normal flashloader and it ran.
I think now i have done the whole thing for rooting the phone, though... Using Es File Explorer, I go to root there and it's still nothing there.
When i flashed back from the .10 to .54 it was written 08/011/2013 19:11:27 - INFO - Loader : S1_Root_3065 - Version : R5E003 / Bootloader status : ROOTABLE
so everything should have been ok?
:S
Thanks guys
Now I flash the phone, everything works.
I flash back to .10.
I try to root and get an error message like.
Could not restore. reconnect external memory and try again
I read it would be because the phone wasnt flashed on .10 but i do that...
What can it be?
Thanks
Hi,
I've been trying to flash my Xperia SP to 12.0.A.1.257 as per the thread "How-to for rooting newest firmware 12.0.A.2.245".
I currently have 12.0.A.2.254 installed, and I understand that I need to flash my kernel to 12.0.A.1.257 to be able to root. Flashing to 257 seems to be successful, please see the log below.
