UCCW Doesn't show up! - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello xda members,
Recently I been tweaking my phone (theming it) but I'm stuck on adding a widget by long pressing/add widget but then the UCCW weren't there to be selected.
I'm currently on Android Gingerbread 2.3.6 with Holo Launcher, then tried multiple Launcher e.g ADW, GoLauncher, SSLauncher but none of them shows the UCCW Widget. I've wasted the whole day trying to find a solution but I give up and ask the good people here instead.
Any help would greatly ease my frustration.

Solved:
Move UCCW to phone memory and it finally shows up.

CM7 with scrollable widgets?

I am trying to get away from sense for obvious reasons. I'm only missing the friendstream, news, twitter scrollable widgets. Shopping revealed Pure Messenger/News widget as a viable option. Although to be useful to me it needs to be scrollable.
-Running CM7 nightlies #130
-ADW Launcher stock with CM7
-Verizon Droid Incredible 2
-Rooted, obviously.
Pure Messenger states that ADW is supported, but scrollable widgets must be enabled and it isn't currently. I find no setting for scrollable widget enable and the documentation for this version (latest) doesn't list it. However a previous version had a setting from what I find online. Maybe the non CM7 version?
Anyone have a solution for pure messenger or alternative app? I'm certain many people running CM7 desire these widgets so there must be a solution but a search didn't reveal anything within 6 months.
Note: I was having this same issue with other phones, and other launchers [read: go launcher, launcher pro], so this should apply to everyone. Including me when I buy the Galaxy Nexus upon release.

I love colorize widgets and android pro widgets (both very similar and have a nice timeline feature with the paid versions) adw does support scrolling widgets but I'm not sure if you need the ex version for that(that's the version I have) I also don't see a setting for it but both my colorize widgets and android pro widgets scroll automatically

I gave up on the Pure Widgets and went with Colorize. Scrolling works fine and I got the paid version and it looks really nice.
I thought the Pure Widgets were the most popular which would lead to less bugs and better support but obviously not.
Now the only problem is Colorize doesn't have a RSS feed selector or news widget like sense but I think I can get around it with customizing Google RSS feeds.
Thanks for the reply.

Ok, somebody should explain the need for scrollable widgets, or indeed most widgets, to me.
You swipe homescreens to get to the one you want, e.g Calender, Twitter.. and then you scroll it to find what you want etc...
Why not just open the Twitter or Calender app instead?
This sums up my pet peave with Android really. So much bloat. So much unnecessary carp. Why do one thing well when you can do it three different ways, badly.
I'm still not sold on the idea of multiple homescreens, in fact i'm as perplexed by the notion now as i was three years ago. Android has an app drawer. It has shortcuts for every app within. Open app drawer, select shortcut, use app! Why would i need shortcuts all over my homescreen?
And while i'm busy derailing the thread with my rant, what's with the honking great clocks and weather on the homescreens? There's a clock in the status bar and the weather is right outside. Use a window!
Obviously i'm in the minority here so i'll just crawl quietly back into my minimalistic hole. Good to get it off the chest though!

[Q] [Q} Problem with clock widgets

Hi all,
I just installed tajm and the digital clock widget by Maize, but I can't place either on my desktop at all. When I long press and go to add a widget, neither shows up in the list of available widgets.
I'm rooted, and running CM7 with Zeam launcher (although I switched back to ADW launcher just to be sure, and still had the same problem).
Are these Sense only widgets? Man, that would be a bummer...
bump...
Just wondering if anyone has any ideas!

You'll have to read and learn that's the best solution imho. It seems that this snapshot is a mix of UCCW + Zooper Widget + an icon pack. Bunchs of tutorials & templates are available on XDA for UCCW and Zooper.

The launcher is likely Nova or Apex and there is an icon pack applied however it would be nearly impossible to tell you which icon pack it is without asking the phone's owner or scouring the Playstore or XDA or elsewhere for hours and hours.
That vertical calendar widget is defintely from Zooper Widget. You can download the app for free in the Playstore. The vertical calendar comes with it and it is called UpCalendar. Once Zooper is installed add a 2x4 widget to your screen and choose that UpCalendar widget
That clock widget may be Zooper as well but I agree with Primokorn that it may be UCCW. You'll have to search for it. Another option for a clock is to use the Playstore App called Zooper Widget Gallery. It will show you a lot of other clocks that are really nice as well.
Also, there is a really cool website called My Color Screen that has beautiful home screens and phone themes and they have step by step tutorials telling you exactly what to download and how to configure the widgets, icon packs, launchers, etc. I highly recommend checking the site out and trying out some of the themes so you can get an idea of how to customize your phone and make it look pretty :silly:

Crashing Nova Launcher & UCCW

Hey Guys,
I've got a Nexus 7 (2013) WiFi version which has been rooted and had Timurs kernel installed.
I've installed Nova Launcher and UCCW. I've used UCCW to create a widget but each time I select the UCCW widget and try and drop it on the launcher screen the whole tablet crashes and reboots, I've forced stop and cleared data on both the launchers and its still not working.
If I use a system widget or other widget like 1weather etc then its fine but any of the UCCW widgets fails
Can anyone help me please?
I have a workaround suggestion. Try Total Launcher. It is like the launcher version of UCCW, allowing the building of themes similarly to UCCW but with full launcher functionality. You could very easily recreate your current Nova theme and UCCW widget all in one app.
Sorry I can't tell you how to fix things to use Nova and uccw, but, hopefully this suggestion can get you by until you do get it solved. And who knows, maybe you'll like TL enough to keep using it (I certainly haven't found anything to even compete with it yet).
