Revert to Stock Rom using TWRP? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I have a Galaxy S3 i747(at&t) rooted and with an unlocked bootloader. Currently running Cyanogenmod with TWRP recovery.
I'm trying to downgrade back to Touchwiz for the purposes of using an unlock code that AT&T provided me with (apparently it doesn't work with AOSP roms). Any chance I could safely use TWRP to flash the stock rom, and then use TWRP to flash Cyanogenmod back right after?
I've read from here and there that flashing the stock room with an unlocked bootloader and/or flashing the stock room NOT using Odin could brick the phone, etc etc.
Sorry if this question has been answered quite a few times, I've seen quite a few different answers regarding this floating around.
Cheers

You must flash stock ROM via Odin
After root again and flash custom recovery

Guess there is no way to NOT use Odin :/
Do I have to relock the bootloader/unroot the phone before I flash with Odin? Also, will it put the phone back to Stock Recovery or can I keep TWRP?
And one last thing before I go through with this...

Is this^ a possible way to go back to stock without going through Odin and losing everything? (Remember, I'm just trying to get to a TW based rom so I can use the unlock code). And if so, can I just flash that rom with TWRP?

I dont think that would be possible. ...u have to use odin
Try and backup your data before u do ..if it helps
Your phone may end up in bootloop if u try with twrp

Via TWRP you are able to flash backup of stock ROM. If you have it

How to change from one rom to another?

hey.
I want to switch from one rom to another, do I just download the .zip of the new rom and flash through clockwork recovery?
Or do I have to delete somethings first?

Basically what you just said.....download and flash via ClockworkMod Recovery.....but some people (like me) prefer to Odin back to stock then flash their newer custom ROM
how do I odin back to stock?
Also if I recover from odin to stock, do I lose my unlock?

Quickest way to unroot

basically, my phone won't boot up normally. instead I have to enter recovery and flash a rom.
On TeamCooper Omega romv2 and wondering what was quicket way to get to unrooted status so I can get it compared? I was thinking Cm7, to stock Gingerbread and then unroot?
reflash stock rom. to make sure, reset to factory setting.
reflash stock rom with odin
if thats what u mean
and i think its unroot.zip file in sticky guide in development section
If your motive for unrooting is to get your phone to service centre, you also should flash stock recovery -- also available somewhere in development section.
unroot.zip does not seem to work for me am i mising something?

Flashing the stock firmware will also remove any root access on your phone.

No, I meant flashing stock using ODIN. You don't need to have recovery or a custom rom, just access to download mode.
If you flash stock rom with odin, your mobile will be back to the state it was when you bought it... no root access and no custom recovery

how to fix a phone in this state?

My phone recently "died" and when I plugged it back in, would only display the empty battery icon for a few seconds, then shut off. Thinking it was a dead battery, I've bought another one and now when I turn my phone on, it hangs at the Samsung boot screen. So I'm guessing the bootloader has screwed or something (preventing the battery from receiving charge too?)
I'm running the Resurrection 1.8.1 ROM, could someone please tell me how to get my phone up and running please!
I'm guessing ill have to flash something with Odin?
Only thing I can do on my phone is get into Download mode.
There's lots of stuff on my phone I really can't afford to lose, so I'm hoping the suggested fix(es) won't involve losing that data!
Thanks in advance
Try the cwm mount and save your stuff, Odin flash is the only way, and even than you need factory reset to boot it it will boot loop
Don't have CWM installed, what kinda flash would I have to do from odin?
I was thinking I could get away with just a bootloader flash?

You mean resurrection remix didn't had cwm? Asking cause Iv never used it.
You can try flashing same version of resurrection remix without wiping.
Cool might try that then. How do I do that via odin? I only have the main rom zip.
Thanks

you cant flash custom rom zip files via odin. so your best bet is to flash the official rom on wich the rom U used is based.
you could also try to flash only CF kernel via odin, try to boot to recovery and then flash the ZIP of your custom rom.

Thanks remorema.
You can flash LiteningROM via Odin though, right?
Also (dumb question) do you know what official ROM Resurrection Remix v1.8.1. is based on?
Thanks

Is it possible. ...

Is it possible to get rid of Twrp? I want to go back to stock bootloader, to check if
I blew the knox.
Best way is to flash stock ROM. Or you can flash stock recovery - you can find how to do it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2426988

[Q] Downgrade to root

I have spent the day to figure out how to root an S3 with 4.3.
I´m no stranger to flashing but I get confused with all the threads and all the links, stickies and "how to´s" all over the forum.
Can someone please link me to the proper stuff I need?
* I know I have to downgrade via ODIN to be able to gain root and thereby get a custom recovery. But to WHAT version do I need to downgrade to? 4.1.2? 4.2.2?
* Is there an absolute STOCK deodexed 4.3 prerooted firmware that can be flashed after gaining root and custom recovery.
Just to make myself clear... the searchfunction has not been working today, so I have been making my searches via google... and that can be a bummer when looking for some handson instructions.
Can anyone be a gent and provide me with some links?
Best regards
Just flash a custom recovery with odin (I'd suggest philz) then the rooted 4.3 stock rom, you don't need root to do this. Chose the stock rom from several in the general forum.
Really? That easy? Great news!
Just a question... I have to flash the custom recovery and the flash the rooted 4.3 ROM before first boot? I have to enter custom recovery directly and flash the new ROM? Or can I boot the phone with just flashing the custom recovery, and then take my time finding a good ROM while running the stock 4.3...
Sweet jesus... I have been away for too long, damn Windows Phone

You may find that a stock rom will restore stock recovery on first boot, so you may need to flash your new rom straight away.
You could also root your existing rom just by flashing CF autoroot.

Well... everything went fine!
PhilzTouch via ODIN and after that a good 4.3 stock ROM. Just as mentioned above I just had to make sure in recovery that the custom one wouldn´t get overwritten.
I made a full backup... I have also saved that backup om a HD on my PC. However... when I made a backup of my efs-folder I couldn´t find the backup file efterwards. Not even as a hidden file. I choose to make the efs-backup on my SD-card. Any idea where to find it?
