Well no. All roms above ICS require a custom kernel for which an unlocked bootloader is required. You cannot run 4.4 sorry.

Oh :/ and can you tell me any roms which i could flash ? because in the android developement section i see many roms but in the thread its not stated if i have to unlock the bootloader or no
@etko1
You can flash all stock based roms.
Any kind of cm etc roms that include a kernel to be flashed are a nogo.

Hi all members & developers.
It has been a long time since I've been here.
So if someone can tell me: what is the best ROM right know, how to install them, an update of 4.0 Ice Cream..
So if anyone has any free time, please respond.

the only port of 4.0 is still in alpha and not stable,
As for best rom...try wolfs if you like stock, fxp if you like cm and there are loads of miui roms...take your pick
PS, best to unlock bootloader and use doomkernel v06 as well
I know that this is a stupid question, but what is the key of unlocking the bootloader?

hi, im new neo v user! and i want to install a rom! do i need to unlock my BL to install any rom? or there is some roms tht can be installed without unlocking the BL? sorry for my question i know its outdated )
I've red samoire that you can install any rom that is based on the official one with no kernel changes via cwm. I've tryed it with my neo and dosen't work.
My Root sts is Boot Loader Unlock: No and as far as i know there is no way i can unlock the bootloader for free...So I am courious about the same thing but on neo (mt15i) .
So Clear ...
We have two kinds of roms;
1)Official
2)Custom
The first one is that one which you already have and doesn't need unlocked bootloader BUT the second one needs an unlocked bootloader.
Feel Free To Hit My THX...
There are also a few custom roms for locked boatloader,
Eg
Romkola, Codename and a couple of others, although they are likely to encourage you to unlock to really see what a neo can do

U could ask the service center guyz if they could help u
And there would a developer kind enough to port cm 10 to locked bootloader once its out
And regarding oc... It requires custom kernel as u knw which requires unlocked bootloader :\
Experience lite is a superb rom.. Tried downloading it once bt 260mb on my slow net.. Will take half a day to download

If you follow that thread i think you can be on .62 gb rooted, otherwise search for another
After rooting bootloader is NOT unlocked. Unlocking it allows you to install custom kernels in order to improve performance or get more ROMS like cyanogenmod jelly bean. It's a whole different story unlocking it
A kernel tells the device what to do, basically. ROMs are modified system files by users to mod their device. This is really base explained
Jelly bean is still experimental so all roms will have bugs. You need to unlock your bootloader for it
Well, the best would be back up with cwm but you cant, so if you wanna save all your data, search for some backup app

2. Type any "what is" type question in to google before asking here, and read the first link in my sig, will go a long way to helping you understand things a bit better.

Firstly you don't need bootloader unlocked for custom roms(just root is needed) but u need it unlocked for installing custom roms.....and please don't ask about best/fast/good Rom since these type of thread are discouraged and u won't get your answer instead a hell lot of people mocking you for this....please be careful next time

AJ

You don't need to downgrade to root if you want to unlock the bootloader. Just unlock it and flash a prerooted kernel like rage kernel and you will be rooted and cwm or TWRP recovery are built in
Try some and you will find your personal best rom :good:
As the title says, I am asking whether i can use cyanogenmod installer via play store to unlock bootloader. I have stock rom and I want to install 4.4 roms and i got sick of waiting for samsung to release an update. So i am asking if I used cyanogenmod installer to unlock the device and then unroot by myself. After then can i install other custom roms just by flashing them? Is this a safe course to follow or do you suggest it would be better to follow one of the guides that shows how to install custom roms on S3 from start(stock rom)?
