Hi guys,
My Vibrant screen recently broken hence I ordered a new screen from ebay. Got the screen today and while removing the old faulty screen, I accidentally tore a thin wire which was connected to the 4 buttons at the bottom. Out of the 4 buttons, 3 of them just came off the screen. So now I have successfully replaced the faulty screen with the new working screen. Everything works except the 4 buttons at the bottom. I press those buttons but nothing happens, not even the backlight comes up.
I believe I have done some serious damage to the buttons. What's my best options now? Should I take it to Samsung Repair Center? Will they even be able to fix this issue?
Its so frustrating because if I open any app I cant go back. I have to restart the phone to be able to use any other app.
Please help,
Dinesh.
Hello
I have got a Star n9770 aka the Galaxy note clone.
Now here is my problem. When the phone is charging I can not use the touchscreen. I try to unlock the lock screen but once I pressed a button it registers that I have pressed another button other than the one I pressed multiple of times.
Now the funny thing is if I unplug the phone the touchscreen works perfectly fine. It only registers the button I pressed once.
I'm planing to get a replacement also due to their is some kind of a rubber band strip showing on the right hand side of the screen.
Thank you for your time to listen out the issue I'm facing.
Hi!
My one month old S6 Edge fell down last week and the front glass broke. However I used the phone normally until today when I got the display replaced in a store. With an original out of the box display from Samsung. After that I noticed that the back and app key (the lowest touch buttons one the front) did not light up at all, although they did work. When I put the phone in the flip wallet cover it went dark and did not respond anymore. I could here it getting emails or phone calls but the screen kept black. I pushed Volume Down and Off buttons until it restarted, with normal screen (the touch buttons also lit up for a second) but after loading normally the screen went black again. If I took it out of the wallet cover it lit up, the two keys also lit up, but the keys did not work at all. Again forced restart. Without the wallet cover the phone starts normally and works except that the touch buttons stay black, but they work. The moment I insert it into the cover it goes black.
It must have something to do with the magnet sensor?!
I took it back to the store, the guy put back the brocken screen and it acted again the same. Then he ordered the USB Board (the part with the charging port) just in case he may have broken it himself but actually he doesn't know if that will help.
Do you have any idea??
Thanks!
Hello XDA.
The screen on my LG G3 Verizon (vs985) has been acting weird and I really would like a second opinion about if I have a screen issue on my hands or if it is a motherboard problem. I included pictures below.
Screen responds to double-tap-to-wake, and buttons still work. I'm able to turn phone off by pressing power button (as long as it normally takes to display Power Menu), then tapping on where the Switch Off button ought to have been displayed. Apparently, motherboard sends stuff to screen, but screen unable to visibly display it.
I've been using motherboard since it was bought new 6 months ago so I really doubt it's the motherboard, but I could be wrong. Screen is over 4 years old. The best way would have been to try another trusted motherboard (if screen is still not normal, then it's DEFINITELY screen's fault). So in the absence of such a conclusive test, I would appreciate opinions.
Thanks.
Pictures (L-R): When booting (picture taken with flash), when booting (picture taken without flash), after booting into Android, phone charging with screen switched off.
SOLUTION: It turned out to be a screen problem (screen was replaced and voila!).
