am sure happy for it

Nice to hear.
What are I777 user flashing right now? I know XDA dont like posts comparing ROMs.
I just need to know the most popular ones, the kernel of the moment... i need to update my old phone today.
I saw Shostock there, lol, really old to these days.
Is there any big issue with the newest android and I777?

Ratus, good to see you around again.
Check out the Development thread, as rogersb has been cranking out a CM 4.4.3 rom, while cyril has SlimKat/Saber running 4.4.2.
There are some ported ones too (4.4.2), and they're extremely easy to upgrade with no specific i777- bugs that I can think of.

Is there a KK rom out there that doesn't have the reboot bug with camera apps?

Yep, try out C-ROM. It's an i9100 rom but can be booted on the i777 by using Shift Kernel.

[Q] Difference between LC5, LD3 & LC2

I know this is probobly a noob question but I was looking to install the new leaked ICS on my AT&T SG2 and wanted to know which of the 3 different versions I should be installing.

Newest is always assumed to be the best; however, the reliability and functionality of the modems vary by your location. What may work exceptionally well for me could produce lackluster results for you. Your best bet is to try them out for yourself. Flashing them is easy enough.
Good luck.
Thank you for your help!
I was also attracted to the leaked packages, until I realized:
Leaks have even less quality and effort put in, compared to the horrible firmware actually released. They're just early.
The leaks may be some android version, but they've been mangled by Samsung AND AT&T. Vanilla is now my only flavor...
(maybe the leaked nature of the leaks is appealing in itself? Makes you feel like you're getting one up on "the system"? BYPASS the system with CM9!)
All 3 of the leaks work well for me. UCLD3 is GREAT and I will run it until another leak (or an official release) comes along.
With that said...no ROM is perfect.
You will have the most choices and dev support using ported firmwares that are originally developed and others ported work.

miui on galaxy s3?

is anyone working on this
There is an miui developer from the galaxy s2 who has made a ROM for the S3(its in the development section) that isn't MIUI but i believe in the comments section for his ROM he has said he might start working on it soon.

Why would they wait for a good aosp... since even in the s2 where aosp and aosp rooms are so good they did base their releases on the samy base... I don't really think aosp is the bottleneck for miui on S3...
MIUI
Guys I asked one of the guys from MIUI both from their original website and Facebook they said It would a while guessing a few moths.
I was also wondering this, hope it doesnt take too long for it come out.

[Q] HTC RUBY minimalist ICS/JB roms

Hey, this is my first post so sorry if its in the wrong place.
I have had my Amaze 4G for about a year and had wanted to experiment with different roms. Unfortunately there are not a lot which I can get to work with radio and tethering. I am with Wind (dont laugh) but only the T-mobile roms seem to work without incident. I had a good experience with EnergyROM but after trying the CyanogenMOD 10 4.1.2 nightlies I have been looking for a rom which has only the very basic apps preinstalled and no gapps. I really like cm10 because I only get what I want but being unstable releases the battery life is really bad. I wanted to post this to see what people are using which fit this criteria or if there is a way to edit the custom rom zips to remove these apps.
Thanks XD
Try venom rom. You can customize pretty much anything. I don't know the current state of tether on this ROM though because I don't really use it.

The most minimalist remind me of the old Speed ROM days. Those were very minimalist with sense still attached.

I saw the dev page for it and it seems like exactly what i've been looking for but the last time i tried installing i ran into issues. Something to do with s-on/off I think. I have no idea how to make set it to off =/
edit: until i get android rev working would it be safe to just open up the energyrom zip and delete all the apks i dont want? I figured for non essentials like facebook and gmail it wouldnt affect much

[Q] Developers and Android 4.3.0

Hello.
1. Are there some devs here that that already have JB roms like 4.1.2 and 4.2.2 and are now working on building a 4.3.0 rom?
I do know that CM 10.2 it out in early stage.
Don´t know if dews want to keep unreleased work a secret, but it would be nice to know if some recognized devs are at least planning on a rom based on 4.3.0 for our SGS2
2. What advantages and features/new things can we expect with 4.3.0?
Thanks for answers

features such as restricted user profiles (only on tablets), Bluetooth Low Energy profile, virtual surround sound, autocomplete for dialpad, improved keyboard, OpenGL ES 3.0 support and a handful of other things

Think about it this way...You're a developer; the SGS2 was released >2 yrs ago & has been superceded twice (and will likely be superceded again within 12 mths), why would you bother putting yourself through the kind of grief you go through (as a result of Samsung's stupidity with sources) everytime a new Android version is released yet again for a phone 3x superceded ?
Answer - very few devs would bother. If I were one, I would have moved on from the SGS2 12 mths ago.

Why close it? At least give me a reason thank you.
@MistahBungle
I get your point.
But the other roms live on. It´s still has a large amount of users in the world.
Why not do it just for fun? That it can be done? The dev still use a SGS2?
I can think of many reasons to do a rom based on 4.3.0.
Custom 4.3 ? Yes there's a few sorting this as we speak. Some are in testing now. Read threads mate.

I was hoping some devs would read this thread and say something about what they are doing.
Rootbox pacman pa all doing final builds on 4.2.2 and moving on to 4.3. Its all a wAiting game. No real info but there doing it and that's the main thing right? Either way i9100 is gonna be getting custom 4.3 soon.

Thats awesome news m8. Thank you :good:

It's beginning to look alot like Nexus

This device is so underrated and is now becoming a real beast in the dev support community. We have AOKP, CM 10.2, Clean, Mallidus, Vanir AOSP, roms with more development showing up everyday. It may not be an offical "nexus" device, but with LOKI and root, it's beginning to feel that way. I came from the GNex and I remember the support that device got. I made the right choice!!
Yessir!!!! Let the good times roll
I am going to go and thanks all the Dev for coming here. =)
-LG G2
finally the whining about dev support will cease.
That happens evrytime a new phone is launched, its a powerhouse of a phone and devs were bound to love it

hopefully same goes with the Japanese version...
Looking forward to it...
We now have Paranoid Android too It may not be a nexus, but since there's no chance of a nexus 5 on Verizon, I don't think I will miss it that much. The builds will soon get stable and we will be able to enjoy this device whether on a stock rom or an aosp one.

Holy crap, did the floodgates open last night or what?? I could have sworn there were like 2 roms available yesterday and now the Verizon dev section is filled. Just AWESOME!! Despite the stock rom being pretty good as it is I'm so happy we have choices now on what we want to use.
Shoutout to all the developers joining the party on this massively underrated device. Thank you very much!!

It was pretty exciting yesterday. Nexus what!? I've already flashed several of them and they are very fluid and stable. I'm in flash addict heaven.
Hopefuly PAC-MAN gets released soon for the G2 :fingers-crossed:
I'm kind of surprised that people haven't figured out, that most custom roms are either based on CM or based on stock. We got CM and then people were able to port other roms.

What!? I think you are confused or maybe I misunderstand you. Vanir is AOSP and while AOKP may share many hardware repos I'm not sure I'd consider is CM based especially since the whole caf debacle. And by stock you mean based off LG ROM?
Many of the devs worked tirelessly together to bring these to fruition at the same time. I dont think any one dev or team can take credit.

It is rather odd. Coming from previous devices on Verizon, the tmo variants were always one of the first to get aosp builds going. It feels good to be on the leading end this time around but I know how you feel. I'm sure development for it will pick up soon.
Being from Europe and all I can't quite see why there are three (?) American models? What's the difference between the Verizon, att and tmobile versions?

There are actually 4 American models. Sprint currently doesn't have their section yet. It's just the sad way things are done over here. Carriers like to lock in their customers and each tends to offer a slightly different variant. Whether that be the slight difference in physical look or the type of radios included for a GSM or CDMA carrier, American carriers like to limit customer options.
