My HOX+ is always locked and I use a pattern to unlock it. Yesterday I call unintentionally 911 because of the friction in my pocket (i guess). It's the second time it happens to me. It too easy to make unintentional emergency call in my opinion.
Do you guys know a way to change de 911 emergency contact from the lock screen to something else (like "555" or "12345" ... or anything else to prevent calling 911) ?

I don't think that's possible. I never had such issues in years.

This is the first time I see such a question, congrats .
I think you should try a lockscreen replace app which supports pattern as a method of unlock.

what do you mean autolock? just press the end button after your call and it will lock the screen
most phones' keypads remain locked when you receive a call. the hero unlockes when you take an incoming call (or is this only when one uses the touchscreen?).
maybe he is using a bluetooth headset. when the phone indeed unlocks itself during the call, this would be a major pita when you just want to keep the phone in your pocket. anyone tried that yet?
i answered a call with my bluetooth headset & the screen unlocks itself....this is kinda disappointing........
Is there a way to remove the emergency call button on the unlock pattern screen (not the lockscreen) using the leak 2.1 rom? Can't find much on this specifically for the eris when searching.
i would like to know this as well? anybody got any ideas?
I know nothing about the matter at hand, but I do believe it would be illegal. I think phones are required to have "emergency" dialing whenever the phone is password protected in case of emergencies. I have never had a phone that didn't.
I think it would only be illegal if it came without one. >.>
But either way, this sounds like a completely stupid idea.
I am using the latest CyanogenMod ROM on my Optimus T P509. I use the gesture feature on the CyanogenMod lockscreen to unlock my phone. However, when there is an incoming call and I use the unlock button, the entire phone becomes unlocked so if I ever lost my phone, and an incoming call was answered by the person who found it, they would have access to everything on my phone. Is there a way to answer an incoming call and not allow access to anything else on the phone without first entering a password or gesture? Maybe something like allowing a call to be answered "on top of" the lockscreen like you can do when answering text messages with an app like Handscent? I'm sure there is such a feature in the settings on my phone - but I just can't seem to find it.
Thanks in advance for your help on this.

Hi....I'm new to this forum and the world of Android....hoping someone can help me!
I picked up a Samsung Galaxy S3 the other day and noticed something unusual with the call function. If I make and receive a call (i.e. the call has actually connected) everything works as expected...proximity sensor engages, and when the call is finished it returns to the call screen. However, if I dial a number and the line at the other end is busy/engaged, I remove the phone from my ear and it returns to the phone lock screen (where I need to enter my password due to my hookup with Microsoft exchange at work). If I don't place the phone to my ear it returns to the normal call screen. Its a pain having to enter the password after attempting to make a call to a busy line, as the first thing I want to do is redial the number.
Has anyone else experienced this? I'm running ICS 4.04.
Try enable auto redial under call setting - additional setting.

Thanks....I'll give it a try. Just need to find a phone line that is busy again!
Ok....here's another weird one associated with the call function on the SGS3 running ICS 4.0.4. When I use a bluetooth headset and make a call, the phone will automatically lock when I hang up regardless of whether the "time to lock" has been met. As mentioned before, I'm connected to an exchange account so security has been assigned such that I need to enter a password to access my phone after a certain time period (max 15 minutes). I'm beginning to wonder if these automatic locks with the call function are pre-determined by the exchange security?? Or perhaps a bug in ICS?
Anyone else experiencing this?

lmyers, did this work for you? I have the same problem, have changed the auto-redial to On, but no busy signal to test it on yet...
I'm tired of ass-dialing 911. Does anyone make an app to securely lock an android phone (pin, pattern, password) where there is NO "Emergency Call" option on the screen ? Or at least where its location is not the EXACT SAME POSITION as the call button ? I don't care if it is free or costs money.
I have an S3, it is not rooted (still under warranty). I'm running 4.4.2.
How the hell do you accidentally dial 911?
If you're rooted, there are Xposed modules that can get rid of the Emergency Call option.
The position of 'Emergency Call' is right where the dial feature is.
I want to see if the 'Emergency Call' feature has been relocated in an app, like toward the top of the screen. That way, when I grab my phone at one end to put it in my pocket, I won't activate it and also dial the number.
My phone is NOT rooted...I am looking for alternate ways of doing this.
nothing? nobody with any ideas ?

And if you're not rooted than think about it.

Maybe try Widget locker as lockscreen replacement.
Ooops, just saw you need a secure lock solution, this won't do, sorry.
