IM.apk (The Native IM App) On HTC Hero

Hi all,
I have been trying for weeks to get the IM.apk on my htc hero by installing it through appinstaller and pushing it through terminal. I also put the ImProvider.apk, TmoImPlugin.apk, com.android.im.plugin.jar and so on. I have tried everything to get it working. All i want is the native IM app that has msn and yahoo because it was my favorite on the G1. I use google talk but i also want the official IM app. Anyone figure out a way to do this? I have been at this for weeks. Please help me, thanks

PLEASE!!!!
Anyone knows how can we install this IM?
Thanks...
Just an FYI, but it's largely a waste of time unless you happen to be a T-Mobile US customer since it doesn't work over cellular data for the more common protocols (AIM, MSN etc). If you are a T-Mobile US customer, it will "work" via a cellular connection, but does so using SMS messages - if you have any other carrier SIM, it will complain that it cannot read your phone number.
If you just want to use if over WiFi - it works fine.
There was a hacked version of this floating round the Dream forums some time ago that did allow proper cellular data instant messaging, but I've no idea what happened to it.
Regards,
Dave

Actually, this is being worked on at the moment by inkredi and myself. Progress can be tracked through the thread that inkredi linked to. Both of us have some ideas, but not a ton of time to work on it. I'm fairly confident we'll get it working 100% fairly soon though.

Security Questions/Concerns; Exfoliate Facebook App

I ran across an app claiming to delete all facebook content.
Exfoliate for Facebook
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.worb.android.exfoliate&hl=en
My question is whether it is safe or not? I attempted using scripts from usercripts to wipe FB data but I believe that because of the new FB UI, the scripts no longer work. Plus, I'm not sure how it could possible delete likes and comments, aside from just wall posts.
Has anyone unpacked the apk and checked it out? Is there a way to check where it's sending the packets of data to? If it's not going to some remote server somewhere that isn't part of FB, that would be great. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
...or if anyone can point me in the right direction so I can do it myself, that would also be greatly appreciated. Would Shark for Root tell me where the data is being sent to?

[Q] "Hacking" Resmed S+

Hi all!
I am new to this forum (first time asking questions!) but always get here to get solutions!
Right now I am trying to develop an app to detect breathing using a device called "Resmed S+", which is a non-contact device that can track your sleep and breathing (sounds cool!).
However, it does not have any SDK/API available to get the data, and it seems pretty hard to get data using bluetooth...
My question is if anyone has "hacked" the device, if yes, then I would be very thankful if you could give me some instructions. Otherwise, any recommendation/advise is appreciated.
Thanks a lot!
Chang
Hi There,
Did you ever get any information on this device?
Thanks!

Chromebook stored WiFi password access

Hello,
I was recently given a Chromebook to use at my school. It comes preloaded with a few WiFi passwords in and around the school so people can use the Chromebooks whenever.
However, my school has been almost a COMPLETE dead zone for my phone. I use WhatsApp to contact my friends and family, and if something urgent pops up, I need to know.
I was wondering how I could view the WiFi passwords stored in the Chromebook (Dell 11-inch)
Thank you for any contribution or effort.
I am also wondering how to do this! any updates?
As far as I know its not possible. The Chromebooks are normally provisioned with the Google Admin Console and push a cert containing the network settings.
Install Linux and find out best try
I've heard passwords are stored ROT13 in something like /yourusername/shill/shill.profile, but I cannot get into developer mode and cannot confirm.
I found out how, PM me for details.

I spent a good deal of time looking at dumps from it. I found network SSIDs, but couldn't find passwords. Maybe you could take a look as well?
How do you do this? In the files app, or crosh? I'm not to sure, I have a school chromebook as well and i'm not to shabby with them lol. Anyway please let me know ASAP how to access chrome://policy, thank you.

That is something you will have to try learning how to do for yourself. Don't expect anyone to do it for you because that probably won't happen here.
This website functions by the user doing their own work for themselves. We answer questions here, but we do not spoonfeed answers to the user, we do not hold anyone's hand step by step and we do not do the work "for" you. Everything you need to know in order to modify the app in the way that you want, is made available here, it's your job to find it and do it.
