I have a rooted galaxy tab 10.1 wifi using stock ics and the A1 kernel v2.1, is their a way to change the boot animation? I've tried installing it to /data/local/ with no luck and even tried /system/media/ but nothing worked. Can anybody help? Thanks in advance!

Its not that easy some times. The system that handles the bootanim is stock and there for not easy at all to change. Its some strange file standard. If you look in the system/media you find some files related to bootanim the file ending is sonething like qmd. You can google on that and try to mod it.
The easy way is to wait for some poor rom cook to change system.

. If you checkout the changelog, it says that it changes the /system/media/ directory to where you can just name it a certain thing and it'll work and for this, all you have to do is flash it using CWM recovery. What do you think about this? Do you think it's safe?

No that rom is for an other unit. Its important to not flach wrong rom.
It need to be supported by the kernel. The creator of kernel A1 knows about this problem with bootanim. And its a hard to fix.

There's no need to flash another ROM,and any ROM contains it's kernel in it's own package,you can go to this link:

Here you'll see some bootanimations made for gtab 10.1...
Note that flashing these packages doesn't harm you device but may cause issues if they're not made for your version,for example cm9 went into a bootloop or didn't show the bootanimation when I flashed a bootanim...
I have a AT&T Note 3 with build UCNC2, Kit Kat 4.4.2 and accidentally softbricked it and wiped out the stock rom. I have been trying to DL and install ODIN versions 3.6 through 3.9
and I cannot get it to install after a successful download. I keep getting a window with Chinese/Asian/Korean characters. Any suggestions???

Hello experts, i think its softbrick, i m using intex aqua i5 mini (i know its chinese) and i have changed bootanimation,and when i rebooted my device, the animation appeard bt i m not able to use my device. It stuck on sony erricson logo. Now plz tell me what can i do, 
My device is rooted, and i m on stock ROM. And phone is still in warranty.
I m able to get into recovery menu,but cant flash any update.zip file, bcoze my phone dosent have custom recovery, and whenever i tried to flash aroma file manager an error appear "installation aborted"
Cryin...crying...crying 
Plz help me out....

You'll have to factory reset using some leaked stock ROM for your phone off the internet. Data will be erased in the process. If you can still access your file system back up the stuff you don't want to lose. Go to this link http://androidxda.com/download-intex-stock-rom-models and find your phone model. Click the download button for it to get your stock ROM, then click the blue instructions hyperlink to read how to flash it. This will put your phone back to factory settings. Just an important thing to note, I have never tried those stock ROMS or the flash tool in the instructions so do this at your own risk.

HOLD THE FACTORY RESET IDEA. I have found something that might help you restore your Nandroid backup. Unfortunately it involves using command prompt. This guide explains pretty clearly what to type and everything. If there is any part of this guide you don't understand, post a reply or send a message. http://www.modaco.com/topic/299479-howto-performing-a-nandroid-restore-manually-using-adb/. Hi,
Has anybody gotten Kids Mode working on a P600 using a stock ROM? I tried installing the apk from the Tab Pro and changing my model number in the build.prop to SM-T320 but it wouldn't install.
Any solutions?
For anybody interested in doing this, I was hoping to get the installer working, but instead just extracted the APKs from a custom ROM in the development section, copied them to system/app on my tablet and installed them.
Can I ask what apks you extracted?

I downloaded my stock rom for lenovo p70A and I'm tired of battery drain problem after rooting my device so decided to flash the same rom over it. Never flashed a rom till date and so when I found my .zip roms in 2 parts I'm struck. Should I copy them both in the same folder and extract one after the other one and overwrite to the complete single rom.zip?
