Help!? Removing the Root from a stock ROM zip? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I spent hours searching for the stock ROM for my HTC Desire 300, so that I could unroot it. Then I deleted the entire OS/Rom by mistake and was left with a brick. Finally, I managed to find this stock version. It's rooted, and has the same SuperSu error about updating. Is there any way for me to remove the root files from this zip? so that the phone won't be rooted when I flash the rom? Which files would I remove?
In the Zip I have the following items:
META-INF (Folder)
Boot (Disk Image File)
Recovery (Disk Image File)
System (Disk Image File)
Trust me, I have searched for hours, there is no stock ROM for the 300 without a root =/

The app SuperSu can do this for you. Go into Settings in SuperSu, scroll down to CLEANUP and you can find there Full unroot. So, just flash the rooted rom, and unroot from SuperSu

[Q] How to upgrade stock ROM/Firmware with rooted/CWM Phone?

Hello,
I have rooted the Galaxy Notes SGH-i317M, and install the CWM recovery.
The question is how can I do the stock update, for custom ROM it's look easy just ue CWM. I tried to search for the answers for the last few days, but nothings is conclusive?
1. I have tried with ODIN Mobile, while it was able to keep the root (with everroot), it lost the CWM (it sent back to stock recovery), so I have to reinstall it
2. With Desktop ODIN, then the root and CWM is gone, so have to reinstall it (both ODIN and CWM) and restore apps/data though a backup (like titanium backup)
And a side question is there a site that I can download the OTA update or I have to wait it push to the phone and don't install it, and follow this procedure?
Download the OTA package
Open it on your computer, and delete the recovery folder from inside the .zip file
Place the zip file on the root of your SD card
Unless you're able to mount the system and edit file permissions while in recovery, install OTA Rootkeeper from the market and run it
Reboot into CWM and make a backup
Flash the OTA package you put in your sdcard folder in step 3
Reboot, rerun OTA Rootkeeper, or chmod 4755 /system/bin/su while in recovery then reboot

Error on update to V20F

In case you want to do the actually OTA with your phone, and got some errors (dead android), you might want to check:
+ if you are using "CWM Recovery" (then uninstall it as in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2095825)
+ if you are using "Remove QSlide Apps from NotificationBar" (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2194423)
But don't use the QSlide revert file from above thread, it doesn't restore the exact matched file for OTA to work with (you can try if you want). To save you some trouble, I have attach the original files (LGSystemUI.apk and its odex). Unzip and overwrite them in the folder /system/app (use ES Explorer to remount /system RW first).
+ still not found the problem, check the few last lines of this file: /system/cache/recovery/last_log
It should say which file mismatches the checksum, and in the case of mine, it is LGSystemUI.apk, which I cannot find anything related searching google. And that's why I make the thread so people can search google and found it here.

If you are rooted then all you need to do is find a nandroid backup of previous jb and flash it. Then you use the trick to force the OTA. If you are not rooted then the only thing I can say is download the kdz, flash it, and wait for the OTA.
there are a few things that manipulate the system: link2sd, overclocking, busybox, custom recovery. . .My thing was the busybox. I totally forgot that I downloaded it and my update didn't work at first. Good Luck

Go go page 9 of the forum link below. There is a Dropbox link of a factory rooted version of V20f for the 769 US version to flash if you have access to CWM on your phone.

Downloaded several times to make sure it wasn't a bad download. Went to apply zip, as soon as I pressed YES, INSTALL ABORTED.
I have no mods or edited system files or anything like that. All I ever did was CWM and root. Had qslide removed but reverted.
Make sure MD5 sum is correct. The other stuff doesn't matter. You are flashing a full backup not an OTA which requires all stock apps.

Wait you tried to install it as a zip
You are supposed to extract it and put the nandroid in the CWM backup directory.

I'm having the same issue, I do not have CWM or QSlide Remove installed, I've uninstalled all Root related apps and still encountering the same issue....

In my OP, I said "don't use the QSlide revert file from above thread, it doesn't restore the exact matched file for OTA to work with".
In case you still have trouble with the OTA, try to follow what I wrote: "To save you some trouble, I have attach the original files (LGSystemUI.apk and its odex). Unzip and overwrite them in the folder /system/app (use ES Explorer to remount /system RW first)."
Hope that helps!
For other people with problems, I suggest to use the Recovery Flashable Zip mentioned in one of the reply.
Or, if you are as paranoid as I am (who knows what people might put in those zip file ) (and somewhat technically knowledgeable), "check the few last lines of this file: /system/cache/recovery/last_log" to see what file got error, and try to get the original file from 20D (which should have the matched SHA1 checksum) and replace them.

Get the full P769BKv20f kdz file download here. Please be advised that this is just stock and if you flash this ROM then you WILL LOSE ROOT! But you can download and create a bin file to do the Lelus root method.

If you can find one from a your rom on this site you could push through adb.. but if you can't then no.. With no custom recovery or back up of that file there is no way..
Do you have a way of refreshing your stock rom? If so do that
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
Yep, your choices are custom recovery (which also requires you to unlock your bootloader), and you can make a flashable zip with the services.jar file you need or reflash the entire stock rom. Lesson learned: don't make changes to the system without having a custom recovery and a backup.

Removing TWRP, or stock android ROM

Im giving my HTC Desire 610 to a family member, but want to remove everything from the phone. i have unrooted the phone, and tried to update to the newest android, but when the phone reboots, it comes up with TWRP. Is there a way to remove TWRP, and replace it with just the stock recovery, and so everything would be as if it was fresh out of the box?
Well, first, re-root it. Then download the stock recovery.img file and download flashify, install the stock recovery.img through flashify. Then, delete the supersu ask from your system apps folder and/ or your data apps using a file explorer, then in a file explorer again go to system/ xbin and delete the su file, and then you will have uninstalled twrp and root

Rooted ZVC update to ZVG?

I plan to give LG G3 I have to an elderly person, so I want this updated to the latest stock rom.
I currently have rooted ZVC with 3.0.1 TWRP recovery.
I could not find a file to perform the upgrade in TWRP.
Is the only way to go restore stock recovery, ZVG, root, TWRP?
In this case is there an easy way to restore stock recovery on a working phone?
Any help?
Thank you.

Similar problem, I have ZV8 and want to go to ZVG. The OTA update doesn't work. I tried Flashfire which sees that downloaded file in the /cache folder but when it runs the update, it gives and error "file not found". So I used adb and several root file explorer programs and discovered that the /cache folder is locked despite being rooted. I can not read or copy any files that are in that folder. I can explore the folder and see that update.zip is there, but I can't do anything with it. It does allow me to copy and paste as long as I am only moving it around within the /cache folder. If I could just get that stinking update.zip file out of that folder, then flashfire should be able to do the update.
To the OP. This claims to put your phone back to fresh out of the box status. From there, you can take the OTA updates and get ZVG.
lgg3root.com/lg-g3-root/how-to-unrootunbrick-lg-g3/
please put the htt . . . stuff in front of the above link, it won't let me post a link since I haven't been active enough.
But I have no interest in going back to stock, I would just like to go from ZV8 to ZVG without losing root and without having to completely reconfig my phone.
Anyone? Someone must know how to get that stinkin update.zip file to be readable by fireflash
