Hi,
I have a problem using screen mirroring and videos from internet (youtube, etc..).
If i turn off screen mirroring, videos play fine on the tablet. When i want to play the same video with screen mirroring, it is very slow and it fails after few seconds (on the tv and on the tablet).
If i use the tablet with content in the internal memory (such as videos, games, etc...), it's play fine on the tv. But when i try to see some network content (videos from internet, from a network storage, etc...) it fails.
It is as if screen mirroring takes all the bandwith of the wifi network and the other datas can't go trought it.
It's a serious limitation of the functionnality if it is normal.
The screen mirroring function of my galaxy s4 let me see videos from internet or from my network storage without any problem (in the same environnement).
Is there a solution to do it with Z2 tablet ?

Hi everyone.
I bought an MHL cable to hook my Galxy S II up to my HDTV thinking I could watch HD videos on my big screen.
This works fine for a video file I've already downloaded to my phone, but I subscribe to an online live sports streaming website that shows events in up to 720p resolutions. All the streams are rtmpt Flash based embedded players, unfortunately when I tried this I could only view the videos at the S2's native resolution, which scaled up to 40 inches looked terrible!
Also, I've tried loads of browsers from the market, but regardless of if I use 3G, H+ or high speed home wifi they all stutter/lag every 10 seconds or so, which tells me it's the phone, not the connection. If I tether my phone to my PC, I can watch the streams fine which again tells me that it's the phone and not a connection speed issue.
I'd like to know if there's an app that will detect when you play an embedded video stream and give you the option of viewing it in another player that can handle higher resolutions than the browsers can?
I've seen apps like JetVD which do this for YouTube videos with 720p resolutions but can't find anything that will work with other streaming video websites. A little help please? MHL cable is pretty useless to me otherwise!
Thanks in advance!
lo everyone,
I tried installing flash on my tablet and flash does work with my browser(s), currently i use Dolphin and UC Browser.
What i find very frustrating is that embedded videos, be it from youtube, vimeo or any other kind of video related website, just do not work correctly.
In the best case scenario the video opens straight full screen, i suppose those videos are in html5, but most embedded content will just play in the window visible on the website (embedded).
Now usually those videos will either load and play correctly but when i try to go full screen i just get a grey screen and i can still hear the audio but no more video, just the placeholder that indicates there should be a video.
So basically i cannot go full screen.
Another very frustrating problem is that very often the video will load, its buffering , then plays a fraction of a second and then jumps to the end like it is finished. This happens only with embedded youtube movies.
This is my first android tablet and the only other experience i have is with the ipad my parents got one day.
On the ipad all the youtube, vimeo or other ... embedded movies play flawlessly. Going to full screen results in a smooth animation enlarging the embedded content to full screen and all movies play extremely smooth.
I find it very strange that an android device has it so difficult with website video content that works so flawlessly on an old ipad (ipad 1).
Are there settings i should change/install/remove for it to better function on my Xperia tablet Z (NOT rooted) ?
Chromecast works fine in apps that stream from the NET (youtube, etc). Both from S3 and computer.
Streaming from my PC videos NOT made with the S3, are fine.
Streaming videos SHOT with the S3 from the PC or from the S3 are constantly stuttering. Some of them don't do it, but most do. They are shot in 720p (not 1080p).
Switched from AOSP back to Stock, same problem. Anyone else?
And streaming the same buggy videos through PLEX server (from PC to Chromecast, controlled via S3 plex app) works great. So I assume something is wrong with the videos themselves?
After some faltering steps with a Miracast/DLNA dongle, I decided to shell out for a Chromecast and hope for the best. I'm nearly ready to return it after only two days of fooling around.
Maybe I don't understand the concept? It seems to me that Chromecast is really designed for streaming web content to your TV, using your device as a "remote". I say this because as far as I can determine, if you try to send local content (e.g., a video stored on your device) to Chromecast it must travel from your device, through your router, and then to the Chromecast. I make that conclusion from the fact that I see no Wi-Fi signal emanating from the Chromecast (once the initial setup is complete), unlike the DLNA dongle which had its own Wi-Fi to which I would connect directlyconnected to one TV). That way we can just access the files on the tablet wirelessly and Jodi will play virtually anything.nted to cast videos.
Using the same local video via MX Player and LocalCast, I get a smoother playback via the DLNA dongle than with Chromecast. Now this may just be a codec issue or something, but it looks suspiciously like poor throughput, especially as I was about as far away from my router as I could get in a multi-story house when I tried this.
With Chromecast I can cast the entire screen, unlike with the DLNA device. That, of course, also gives choppy video. I can even get some streams in Kodi to play (via LocalCast) but for some really vexing reason cannot get local content to play with Kodi in the same way.
Mmm...... I guess if I have a question it's whether I'd be better off with Chromecast or the DLNA device considering most of the casting would be local content with some occasional streams via Kodi. I don't subscribe to any web-based material like Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc.
The issues I am having with LocalCast are another thing altogether and I've emailed the developer about those. My preferred DLNA app is EZCast, but I can't get it to work as an external player with Kodi and that knocks it out of the running.
Edit: never mind. I returned the Chromecast. It turned out that the DLNA dongle played more formats and overall did a better job with local files. Still not ideal. Probably the best bet for us is a basic android box running Kodi (we already have a PC connected to one TV). That way we can play the files from the tablet wirelessly and Kodi plays virtually anything.
Hi everyone, i have a Mate 10 Pro and a uni USB-C to HDMI cable. With that cable i connect the phone to a monitor, and i can do everything without problems: with both Phone Mode and Desktop Mode, i can watch VLC videos, play emulators and use remote play apps, and other things.
But there is a problem when i use streaming apps with DRM contents like Netflix, Disney+ and Prime Video. With Phone Mode, whenever i use these apps in their menus it seems all fine, but when i play something there is a strange behavior: on the monitor i can see the video and hear the audio, but there are no subtitles and i can't see the UI of the app, while on the phone there is everything. Usually is not a big deal, but sometimes is uncomfortable, like in a movie where someone speak a foreign language and there are subtitles to understand him but i can't see them beacause of this, or when a episode is over and there is the menu to go to the next and i want to stop it but i can't see it and so the next episode start.
I also have tried the Destop Mode, and is worse: when i play something there is the audio, the subtitles and the UI, but the video is black.
I understand that is something related to the DRM, but there is a solution to this? At least for the Phone Mode...
Thanks for the help.
