First off, I Used Vroot to Root my phone about 2 days ago, Installed SuperUser and all was well. I never tried transferring music before I Rooted it either. Now when I Connect it to my PC, I Installed all 3 Connection Methods Software, and my computer even says LG-P769 under Drives, but when I try to use Windows Media Player to Sync music It just gets stuck on 0% and nothing ever happens, I then tried manually transfering the Files into the MUSIC folder on the internal storage of the device, and at first a popup window states" You can transfer these files but your device may not be able to view or open them." I then click ok anyways, and it also just gets stuck on 0%. Is it the Root stopping me from this, am I missing something here?

So I just bought my SGS2 yesterday. Its my first android phone ever. I wanted to upload music to it. So I read online, Samsung Kies will sync this baby up with all my music. But whenever I tried to sync music there, the process froze and I had to end it abruptly. Only 50% of my songs got uploaded at best.
Then I realized its just throwing files in the media folder, so I manually tried to copy-paste them there.. And even that process freezes, the phone drive on my PC becomes unresponsive and I have to unplug the device and plug it back it to get any response. This happens every time!
I have a bad feeling something's wrong with my phone! Help!
what version of windows are you using ?
.
older versions of windows require you to go to usb debuging and then manually activate the usb storage feature so you can copy and paste to the phone and/or external sd card.
Every time I download a file onto my tfp I can't see it via usb nor via dlna for hours. I can see the files on my tfp with 'File Manager' but if I plug my tfp into my PC, all recently downloaded files are invisable. Same issue for files via dlna. Initially thought my dlna apps had a floor until I tried to transfer a file via usb and I was like "Where is it"? I can transfer the file wirelessly with 'ES File Explorer' but it is painfully slow.
Same thing happened to me recently too. Only showed the DCIM folder via USB. After a reboot (tablet), the other directories slowly came back and then the files, but it seemed like it was struggling forever.
I finally had access after 1.5 hours and 2 reboots.
Does Android use an indexing service to maintain its listing of files?
If this were the case, maybe a new index is created for newly downloaded files and it is migrated with the master index via a process. In my case, maybe the process isn't working correctly but a reboot will cause it to restart?
Not sure if this is related to the problem but I frequently receive a popup advising "Unfortunately. Asus task manager has stopped".
Just discovered something. I can access all new files via dlna with 'My Net' running but when I use a couple of dlna apps from the market (Imediashare and Skifta), the new files are invisible.
hi. the problem im having is that i cant connect my phone to transfer files such as music and photos. i can use apps like airdroid and kies but want to discover the problem and have an easier way off organizing my files from computer to phone.
i recently flashed cm-9-20121209-NIGHTLY-galaxys2.zip then installed gapps-ics-201204929-signed.zip from internal storage.
thats the only two things i have done.
a window used to pop up when i plugged in the usb and it would also appear on 'MyComputer' folder. but neither happen now. I still get the connected sound when i connect the phone. I have tried different usb slots on my computer and have tried turning my phone off and on and rebooting it.
do i need a special driver for the cyanogenmod rom? thats the only thing i can think of!
anyone have any suggestions?
thanks
Hello there.
It seems this problem is quite common, from the fist time I plug the device in MTP mode, no alteration I do on the phone using android will reflect on the PC, for example, if I plug the phone for the first time after a boot and delete a file using android, it will still show on PC, it doesn't matter if I refresh the folder or even change the USB port. I have to reboot the phone to get it working again. It seems that when you plug the phone on the PC it creates a 'cache' that never gets refreshed.
I would like to know if there's a way to refresh such 'cache' or other solution to this, perhaps by allowing the phone to be seen as a fully featured mass storage device. My phone is rooted. Perhaps there's even a patch or something. My device is a Moto G Dual, Android 4.3.
I don't want to use Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. I recharge my phone on the PC and I would like to also use the connection to transfer files without having to reboot my phone.
If I rename a file for example (using android), so it shows the old name on the PC, it's impossible to access it, even by accessing the exact path (both the old or new) manually.
Any ideas?
Thank you in advance.
Hello,
I installed yesterday a custom rom with 2.3.4 for an Xperia Play device and I've noticed that the phone is properly recognized, all drivers are fine, I can go into fastboot mode, bootloader unlocked, etc... and I can see the microSD card from the phone when this is plugged to the computer via USB.
The problem is that I copy files from the computer to the phone, windows takes its time and at the end says that it's all good, you can see the files in the phone, however when you then unplug the phone and go to that location, none of the new files are there?! :S
More weird is that then you plug the phone back to windows and the files appear there again?
Any idea what could be going on? and how I could copy files from windows to this android in this case?
Cheers!!
Maybe just links
Maybe you just linked to the files on your Computer. Move/Rename them on your Computer and see if you can still open them on your phone. If no you just created a link to the data stored on your computers hard drive. If yes I also can't tell you what's going on
Thanks, no the files were the complete files, no links.
I've been looking into this further, and reflash the mobile with a total different rom and still happening there (although with this new rom doesn't happen 100% of the times like with the other). What I've just now noticed is that the mobile doesn't recognize those files, but... if I REBOOT it, then they appear once it starts up?! so weird.... :S
