Hi, I am sorry if this has been posted before, but I can not find a good answer:
Can I use ES file explorer freely on my external SD card with Kitkat?
Example:
Have a video and a music folder on my ext card, and copy files from my NAS to these folders. (Using ES File explorer)
Also, can I let a torrent client download files to my external SD card?
All this without root.
I am currently on Black Berry Q10, and I can use ES and A downloader freely, A shame if this is not the case with android anymore..

Have pics on my rooted atrix's external sd card. Astro bluetooth nor bluetooth file trans app show the sd card even when browsing from the phone. Is there a "right" way to do this? Some way to make the sd discoverable as a drive?
I know I could move to internal storage on phone then using astro btooth upload to tab or use tab to find the file. But the folder is too big to put on the phones internal. And of course there's dropbox but isn't there an easy direct way to browse the phones ext sd from my tab?
If the answer involes vpn, kies or adhoc could u plz explain.
Thanks all!
you can download root explorer or another file browser that has access to all of your folders. Of course you need to root your tablet before.
And that has bluetooth file transfer? I have rooted the tab.
Installed Winamp and moved a few songs over to the the SD card under My files -> Music. Winamp found them without any additional direction, but if i want to use the card for something else and move them to the extra space on the NT following rooting, where should that be?
Would whatever is recommended also be the best place to store everything else I want to keep on the NT and not the card? I am assuming this is the 12Gb extra opened up by rooting the device.
Once you root you can access the 12gb of space. You need a root enabled file explorer such as es file explorer or root explorer to be able to move things to the 12gb partition.
I have ES File explorer - where (specifically) should they go?
I dont have a working nook tablet in front of me right now but i think its /data/b&n downloads/music
I cannot seem to be able to locate the ext SD on the ES file explorer. Anyone knows how to? it seems that it doesnt go any further up from local SD.
I found it @ /mnt/extSdCard/

I'm trying to delete some music files and folders on my SD card. I can use Solid Explorer to copy files over my LAN to my music folder. Once I copy, I can then delete those new files/folders off the SD.
The problem is with older files and folders. Solid Explorer and the built-in My Files app both fail to delete, with no information explaining why.
I'm guessing the problem is with any files and folders that were put on the SD over USB. 35GB would take too long over WIFI.
Hi Guys,
Im trying to send an apk file from the SD card in my mi pad 4 to my phone. The built in file explorer has no option to do it so i installed ES file explorer, this too also has no option to send via bluetooth from the SD card. It has the option from internal storage but not from the SD card. Is this the same for you guys? Is there a fix for it?
Thanks
Same problem here :/ I try both Mi and ES explorer Thought from WPS office app i think i manage to do it (the tablet isn't mine so i cannot recheck it). Photo sharing from gsllery works fine
