It means how many times an unofficial kernel/recovery was flashed. Basically, it's just a counter.

I wonder if access to the counter routine would lead to the efuse command?
i never flashed non-stock kernel with this phone before but it still show 4, so i dont think that number meant for that.

I just rooted my S4 successfully! Thank you!
After, the instructions suggested running option 2 (Prep For Recovery). I selected it and the screen said THIS STEP WILL REMOVE SOME ITEMS THAT COULD CAUSE PROBLEMS AFTER RECOVERYINSTALL, PRESS ENTER TO RETURN TO THE MAIN MENU, Press any key to continue. . .
It is now stuck on that screen and has been for 30 minutes. That screen no longer replies to key presses. Should I do anything? Is it done?
Also, how do I 'resolve' the S4 update nag on my phone? Can I get rid of it for good?
Is this a viable solution for the update? Should I rename the update instead so the phone can't find it?

Does anybody know if a regular S4 would fit into a S4 Active case? This is the one I would like. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00DM9AQG4/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?ie=UTF8&m=A3VODXGBJ323R7

Yeah, looks like the phone is fine. Tried running opt 2 again but still just hangs. Should I just not bother?
Thats what would do.... if after it boots up and all is fine, let it run and see if anything isnt running right.

Actually after booting up i would do a factory reset then reroot again right away as so the ota update doesnt kick in... after rerooting freeze SDM 1.0 so the ota update doesnt show up anymore...

You can open the script in in and xml or text editor and see what files its actually checking at that point. From a quick glance, it look like it mounts the system partition r/w and removes a bunch of KNOX related stuff and removes script that the ota would have use to install recovery. Did you update the su binaries?
ever since i rooted my note 2 i cannot connect to bluetooth devices. i honestly cannot recall if it worked before or not it has been so long. Is there any fixes out there for bluetooth issues????

which ROM are you on?
Beans/Alliance 26

This belongs in Q&A not as a new thread in development. Did you ask your question in any ROM thread? I suspect a hardware problem since Bluetooth does not show up as a common issue in the threads I follow.

It is under "add-ons" at the bottom of the second post in the Alliance ROM thread.

Flash this with Odin. After that, Odin will reboot you in to recovery and then install the Alliance ROM.

Im pretty sure it has to do with knox. Not a big deal though. When I first rooted I flashed faux kernel before installing a rom. I received this message and all it did was sent me to recovery. Nothing to worry about its just annoying. You have to flash a knox free rom to get rid of it.

Nope, it needs to be modded in to the incall.apk. easiest way is to just use a rom that already has it.

You can buy call recorder from the app store and it works without root even. I use it all the time.

What I would really like is to keep stock with a few enhancements..
Call record and Remove Tether provisioning.
Is there any way to do that and keep the rest stock. I have no problem with stock other than those two issues.
To be honest. I have had a few issues with custom ROMS. Not knocking the DEVS at all (That group of people are untouchable as far as I'm concerned), I'm just to old and set in my ways to constantly be flashing a ROM.

Does anyone having this error when booting?
I know it's not a bit deal but is there a way to fix it. I don't see anything come up in the S5 area, people are getting it on Note 3 or S4.
Thank you

There is nothing broken.
If you don't like it or don't understand what it means, simply flash back to a stock kernel.
I understand thanks
